When arriving at Public Storage, I met Mark who was a pleasure to deal with. He made sure that I knew everything I needed to know and helped go over everything that needed to be gone over when it came to the price and the fees that I would be paying. He made sure to help me to the unit and give me all of the information about the unit. When I got there with a load of belongings he was already headed to another unit but when out of his way to show me where my unit was and explain that one way would be easier to get to the unit with less doors to open. Got a 10x10 unit in November 2016 after having unit(s) in Extra Space Storage in HoHoKus for 10 years. I THOUGHT that I'd feel safer in a place with gated access, but this past winter the entrance gate was broken for about 6 weeks...basically ANYONE could drive in and enter the building where the storage units are because once inside the gate, that's it, no more security. I started to notice that the fire doors on my floor were ALWAYS open. I reported it. I was told by a manager that someone was just being lazy. Well that someone seemed to always forget every time I visited because they were always open. Like other comments, they raised the rent frequently, so they sucker you in with a low rate and make it up pretty quickly. Also the cart situation, frequently NO carts to be had, people left them on the floors. In September we had a sudden cold snap so I went to get my out of season clothes and met a woman exiting the elevator with a broom and dustpan filled with mouse dropping's from her unit. Yup, I'm outta here! Luckily just up route 46 is CubeSmart, incredibly CLEAN and SAFE. You need a code for the gate AND the elevator. Got there early Sunday to move in and the office staff was walking the hallways picking up trash and sweeping. read more

These people charged me for another month's rent after I already moved out and now I have to waste my time to go down there and talk to them. The move out date was scheduled 3 weeks in advance and I was still charged even though there is nothing in the unit. This is a ridiculous practice and just a way of screwing their paying customers and trying to make more money. Never use this storage facility, it is a rip off!! read more

Clean units... friendly staff. My only complaint is that the entry gate is almost always left open, or broken. Can't really give a storage center more than three stars... not really much anyone has to do. Except maybe, you know... fix the damned gate. Oh, and update your internet from the stone age so it doesn't take weeks to get a new passcode if you ned it changed or rent a second space. read more

The people were extremely nice and the place is really clean. I moved in only six months ago and the rent went up $50. I was then told the rent increased because I set up a month to month. Well, they never told me about renting for an entire year. But any how, I will never rent from Public Storage again. Prices or too high. If you are going to hike the price up so high at least give people some time. I was notified in January it was going up in February. Thanks but no thanks. I'm going back to my old storage in Garfield. I pray they have room. read more

I would give this place zero stars if possible. I would strongly encourage you to go anywhere else BUT PUBLIC STORAGE...at any location. Their billing practices are bordering on illegal. If you are planning to keep your storage for anything longer than 3 months- do no t rent. The will raise your rent drastically every year 20% 30%,,,as I was told from their home office- :We do not cater to the long term renter. Loyalty is not our interest. We only cater to the short term" Your rent will very soon be DOUBLE of what you rented it for. And the only way to get a lower price that is advertised is to physically move al your stuff to a different unit. and they know people don't want to go through that hassle. Overall, I'm very happy and I suggest contacting various locations when checking availability of storage units as the available units drives the pricing. I appreciated the recommendation of the professional from Public Storage recommending a larger unit than I had considered because there was a Summer special which amounted to a huge savings for me. read more

safety is a big concern i rented a space first floor the lock on the door is been broken for over a year and call the head office we are working on it to fix a lock carts are always broken plus doors are open but if your are late for your payment they will lock you out right away that what you call bad management the local staff are super nice but they can not pay from there own pocket to fix the place and you have to change units to save on your rent otherwise it become crazy high read more
