Found dead rodent in the storage room. Apparently, it had been there for a while 'cause it was covered in cobwebs. It was terrifying to see 'cause it died with its eyes open and I screamed when I saw it. I'm very surprised that no one managing this facility has removed the dead rodent. I just noticed that I am not the only customer to write about rodents. Bateman C. wrote about the rodent problem on Oct. 2, 2025 and it is still a problem that they are obviously not addressing. Huge mice issue. We even made a point to be sure we had nothing to attract them. They shredded my rugs and peed and pooped on everything. So we are having to clean, disinfect, wash or throw out everything. A d they are upping the rent over $100+ dollars a month additional. We have another unit at a different facility near by and have it a lot longer and have not had any issues at all and the monthly rent for same size unit is half the cost. You can never find a time when there is an actual person available either. I am giving it 2 stars for the security as it seems ok. read more

Don't expect the rate they quote to last more than three months. Their business practice is to get you in cheap and then raise the rent hoping you don't notice the 33% jump. They may lower it back down but only for a short time. Facility was okay but not great. Electric gates and app work most of the time. read more

Just got home and am I PISSED!!! I went to retrieve something from my unit and went through the lobby (no issue) and just stated I would be quick as I just needed to get a small item. 30 sec walk to the unit, less than a minute inside and 30 sec walk back to find the door LOCKED!!! My phone is in my car so I can't use the gate. Knocking on the door and no one seems to be around. And it is RAINING! Well after about 5 minutes here she comes and complains "Don't be pounding on MY door". It's Public Storage's door and not hers and I wasn't "pounding" but my ring did make it louder. She then asked for my ID to pass through the lobby to get out. I said really? She said yes (door still locked). So I gave my ID to get BACK through the lobby. Her name is Heather and SHE HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE WORLD!!!! AVOID HER!!!! read more

Watch out for the bait and switch on the low price to get you to move in and then raise your rates. I moved in February 2020 and ten months later they raised my rates 10%. They raised my rates again six months later. They raised my rates 37% in total over 19 months all during Covid when many people were out of a job. read more

So i was in a hurry and needed a storage unit quickly and public storage had what appeared to be great rates. Well long story short after i obtained the unit a several months had gone by i notice the price continues to creep up continuously. They advertise a 5X10 unit for 92$ a month. Before it was all said and done they had me at 140.00+ a month for the same unit. I scheduled a move out of the unit to go to one of their competitors with better unit access and better pricing and they had the audacity to send me an email saying we are sorry your leaving lets reduce your bill. "We hate to lose good customers. Click "Stay & Save" and get New Rent $116.10 For 6 Months". In my opinion this place is fine if your going to use them short term. If you need somewhere long term i would avoid them or be prepared for price increases. read more

These people are CROOKS! Talked me into leasing a 10x20 unit 2 weeks early to save the unit... Pro rated the month (go figure). After traveling over 1000 miles my unit was rented to someone else! They gave me a inside unit when I wanted outside. After 4 months, they raised the rent by $45 per month. After my new home was finished being built, I moved out on October 12... Oh by the way, they don't pro rate when you move out, you must pay for the entire month. On October 15 they wanted to rent the unit again, I said NO. You charged me for the entire month, the unit is mine until October 31. Now they want to charge me for the month of November since THEIR lock was on the unit! It's the 4th of November, it's been empty since October 12 and you were given notice. I cannot comprehend how a company can abuse their customers as they do. Rented a 10 x 15 unit and signed the contract. After 5 months I get an email saying my rates will go up by $30 per month starting the following month. I was lucky, and was able to move out, but this really takes advantage of people. The lady at the counter said there is nothing she can do, it's corporate, however after some complaining she said she could waive the rate hike for 6 months. Also, mice galore in the facility. Be prepared to shake mouse poop out of your mattresses, kids toys, dishes, etc. While the renting and payment process was easy, I cannot support a business which clearly takes advantage of people. Once your things are in, they got you, and they know it. Contract means nothing. Lots of nicer facilities out there... read more

It was difficult to choose between 2 and 3 stars for this review, but I had to go with 2 on the whole, for reasons detailed below. I had a storage unit at this Public Storage for nearly 2 years. During that time, they raised my rates significantly with no explanation - even when I asked for one. I know that their utility costs weren't going up significantly, for example. They were also chronically understaffed. While the main woman who worked there was very nice and helpful, at lunch they had no coverage and rarely had a second person working, even during busy times (common moving times, weekends, etc.). The main reason for the low score though, other than needless rate raising, was that for a period of many months during my first year, they literally had no security gate at the facility. Another customer had rammed it accidentally, and it took them months to get a replacement. I called the manager (not the desk lady - some other guy) and left a message and told him I didn't think I should have to pay a full rate since they weren't providing full security. I called several times - and got no response. He totally shined me on. Terrible customer service. And there was never an e-mail or apology/explanation about the broken gate. I will say that my stuff stayed safe/dry there, but I have used many storage facilities and the one had the least responsive owner and worst staffing and was most expensive. I have had a pleasant experience for the first six months, and then experienced the nasty end of the old "bait & switch". I signed up online, going for the deal that let me get a great rate, using the auto-pay and online system , only to be blindsided with a 30%, yes, that's right a 30% increase with absolutely no notice...(she says her screen says they notified, but I have never received any notice, period). I asked when I went in originally to see if there would be a hidden increase at some point, and was assured that would not be the case....so I would not trust these people on bit. I own a business, which is dominated by customer service, and it constantly amazes me how people can get away with this kind of stuff, so I am finally taking to the "airwaves" to share my story in the hopes that this kind of customer service will make people choose not to go with them when they see this. Rene is awesome! She deserves a raise and a promotion. However, I think the owner should stop letting your rent rise. When you're travelling this makes life more difficult. I mean, I'm already paying for my own stuff every month. Rene is the absolutely the greatest!! Upon arrival on 9/22/16 I was greeted with a smile, chatted with for a bit, and was taken to the unit that I had reserved. She is one of the nicest customer service reps that I have came into contact with when it comes to using Public Storage. Of course after showing me the unit she offered to sell me moving supplies, rope, etc for the move I was making, I politely declined and she didn't think twice to keep asking like most sales people do. It's a cylinder lock facility only. You must buy their lock for $21.95. and it's a piece of crap. I went to turn the light on in the storage unit and it was not working. I asked if they were going to change the bulb and she says they are not going to put new bulbs in any of the storage units when they go out. You need to buy their insurance for your storage unit. The storage units were clean... management was helpful. But, if it was me.... I would go elsewhere. read more

Although the rental process, the staff, and the facilities have been fine, they raised the price through the roof after just a couple of months. Now we're left with having to move everything again because of the exorbitant increase. I don't begrudge businesses making a profit, but a 15% increase after just a couple of months is no way to do business. read more

I've had a storage unit with this company since August. When I first came in they told me that they could not honor their advertised $1 for the first month. Even though the website and giant signs all over the building said $1 for the first month. Fine. It was an emergency situation so I got the unit anyway. The woman that helped me was Rene. She was nice enough to me but screwed things up multiple times so we spent over two hours in the office (or outside for 30 plus minutes while she showed another unit)... With my dog... Just because she couldn't figure things out. During this time, multiple customers came in to pay for their units. Rene waited for each of them to leave and then talked trash about every single one of them!!! All these reviews that say she is so nice... It is ONLY to your face. I was there for only 15 minutes before she was bad mouthing every single customer that came in. This was not limited to giving personal information including what other customers had stored in their unit. After my experience, I can see how she knows what people have. I was NOT alone so I absolutely have a witness. She told us to 'wait in the bathroom' because it was the only place with air conditioning while she showed another unit (to a woman Rene later referred to as 'crazy' and 'wasting her time' even though she did rent the unit). Seems like the company should have a MUCH better option than leaving potential customers in the cold, heat or rain than to stick them in the public bathroom which she herself said 'often gets bugs so watch out'. Then she repeatedly left the gate open for 30 minutes plus at a time. So unprofessional but again, it was an emergency. 2 months ago I had problems paying online. Apparently my payment didn't go through. I was never notified of this. Instead they racked up fees without trying to get in touch until my account was delinquent for 2 months and they already scheduled to auction my things!!! I never received a call before then. I have NEVER had this happen to me with another unit. They could at least call BEFORE the auction is scheduled!! I called to see what I could do and Rene was incredibly rude to me. I asked a question and repeated the answer back to her to confirm. She yelled at me that I wasn't listening and needed to pay attention and then repeated back the EXACT things I said. Clearly I had been listening. At this point, I was fed up. I paid my unit in full a couple days later just to find out they had already cut off my lock and gone through my things WITHOUT INFORMING ME AT ALL!! This is completely insane! I'm now forced to also pay for a lock that THEY destroyed even though it was my PAID FOR PROPERTY that I have had for years. I am paid through this month. I do not understand how they can just go through my things! I am convinced I am missing things! NEVER TRUST THIS LOCATION!!!!!!!!! I will be contacting the better business bureau and I will not stop contacting the district manager or corporate until this is resolved read more
