Public storage is just awful, i rented from different places before and honestly it is one of the worst i experienced. I can't say others are perfect but this storage company needs a lot of improvement. I like the gate access with an app, if it works sometimes app just doesn't open the gate. I have been to this facility many times, and i can rarely find a moving cart, even 6am not a single one in site. The front desk person is almost NEVER at the office and that is because they clean and manage a facility while the front desk office is locked most of the day! This is so stupid, they can't even hire 2 people? one for cleaning and one for the front desk? You literally have to catch them at a certain hour, because the company thinks 1-800 number is going to solve all your problems. the people lock moving carts in their units, and the management does nothing. There is a lot of broken glass and one time i was afraid my car's tires will be damaged because in the morning i drove over it. I understand this is not the company's fault but they should clean more often. The bathroom is not working EVER! where are you suppose to go to the bathroom? There is NO dumpster even not a single waste basket to put extra garbage. Just plain AWFUL, i had several minor issues that could have been resolved right on the site but guess WHAT? there is no one at the Front desk EVER. How is the remote 1-800 number is going to open the door if you can't open it, or one time the elevator was not working and again NO one at the front desk. The only reason i have not moved out is because it is very time consuming but i will find a better facility soon. And that is true what people wrote after 6 months they ridiculously raise your rent up! read more

Be warned. Its bait and switch. After and every 3 to 6 months they keep raising the price with 30 day notice. You store for years as I have and they will give no effs about trying to auction you storage off. Additionally they love to stack fees and fines that end up being more then the rent. I would suggest U-Haul storage or a mom and pop spot where you get return calls and the respect and courtesy you deserve after numerous rate increases. I would not recommend. read more

One of the biggest problems with renting a unit here is, you can not use the dumpster to throw anything away. You pay all that money every month to rent a unit from them and you can't even use the dumpster. In the building near my storage unit the restroom been out of order so you will have to walk all the way up front to use the restroom read more

Okay not all storage created equal. Storage units are compared by size and depending on the size you get is the price you pay. Cheap storage units are not be comfortable or anything you can store things that Mike Nelson as they will get extremely warm. I was not impressed with the people that showed me my storage unit in or rented it to me. It was no pride in ownership or interest in really getting me as a customer. It appeared as if the staff was just working on autopilot and doing what they were paid to do, nothing more nothing less. Being in itself was nothing special just a regular barebones storage unit as we all expect them to be. I can't say anything more positive about the storage unit and then the other one but I can say one negative and the staff was an impressive and frankly uninterested As much as I hate moving I don't think I will be in this unit mom and I am not please the way it is prison in and camp to. Actually I don't even feel that my belongings are safe. What's a girl to do? Go someplace you feel comfortable como will come and eddies with leaving your position in someone's hands. read more

I was in a bind -- my new home wasn't quite ready and I had to hand over the keys to my old home. Called the main PS line and was given a $1 deal (it's real!) at this Hillsborough location, about five miles from my new home. My bind continued. We were running late packing up and getting the moving truck to PS before they closed. I tried calling the PS store directly about 20 minutes before closing to let them know I was en route and got voicemail. I left a message. I called again every five minutes -- voicemail every time. I panicked. If I couldn't get my items in storage, I was looking at $300+ in costs for keeping my items on the truck overnight. We arrived at PS literally one minute before closing. Someone was still there, thankfully. His name was Joel. Sweating and fretting, I immediately let Joel know I had tried reaching him for the last 20 minutes to no avail. He had never checked the voicemail. My request was that he allow me to complete the necessary paperwork, which I had been told would take 20 or so minutes. He told me he had already signed out and did not seem terribly keen on staying late or figuring out what it would take to get me signed up and in. Fast-forward 10 minutes, and Joel had called every manager he could to figure out how to sign himself back in to the system to get my paperwork going. He loosened up as we proceeded ... I think the anxiety on my face broke him down. I had been near tears -- it was a LONG day. Fast-forward 30 minutes, and my moving team was unpacking the truck into the largest storage unit I may have ever seen. Even though it was a rough, stressful process, it was still a five-star experience because luck, timing, price and JOEL made it happen. I only needed the storage unit for one week, versus the month my dollar paid for, but it was an important week. Thank you to Joel and the individual who explained to him how to log back in for allowing me not to incur another several hundred in fees from a moving company. I really appreciate it! read more

I came to move my daughter into college but what I found was an unmanaged location with a non-functioning elevator. Needless to say what should have been a 30 minute activity turned into 3 hours. We had to unload everything via the staircase and our unit was on the 5th floor. You want to talk about the burden this caused. Additionally, I called their the numbers I could find on Google and no one could assist. The customer service number said that managers and district managers were all in a meeting and were not available. I even called their corporate offices and they stated they could not assist and could only direct me to the number I had already been calling. When I spoke to another person on the customer service line, they stated they could only put a work order in for maintenance to fix the elevator, which would take 72 hours. If i had waited, my daughter would have missed her move in window. Never utilizing this storage company again. To top it off their restrooms were so discusting that they were unusable and I almost got sick at what I saw and how fowl it smelled. I hope no one else has to experience what we endured today. read more

I would certainly recommend this location to my family and friends for storage needs. I am currently shopping for additional storage for furniture I am not using, and Lauren was extremely helpful in helping me make my decision. I do have to add while I was there, she extended the same courtesies to a person/customer who came in very agitated. Lauren kept her composure and helped this customer in an extremely professional manner (even though the person was very rude and did not deserve it)! This has been the most horrible customer service I have experienced. I went online to reserve a space that was advised it was available for me to reserve and move in today. I get a call from a NASTY staff member that advises me that the unit went up for auction and that I will not be able to move in until 48 hrs. Ok, I get that, then I advised the staff member well can you place me in a unit for 48 hrs until my space comes available. She tells me I will have to charge you $110.00. I stated we were only going to be in there for 48 hrs until my unit is available, I even went as far asked could I get prorated for two days. She was very rude and nasty, I ask for the corporate number, which I decided to get offline. I had to leave a message for executive relations. read more

THis was the WORST experience with a storage company EVER! First, they would not honor the corporate $1 first month rent. Second there are a myriad of fees tacked on, so even if the rent is $100, it will end up being $200 for the first month. The property manager was rude and unwilling to work with us and there fees are rediculous. I called to make a payment on line and they wanted to charge me yet another $20. That is absolutely robbery. attention everyone! don't use this company.....they are not trustworthy! my parents rented a small unit on monday and cancel the rental 4 days later "friday morning" cause they are no longer moving to the area. the manager angela stated to me over the phone that per the rental policy i was able to cancel within 5 days. they charged my elderly parents approx. $170 dollars for the 1st month when the recording states your 1st month is $1 "one" dollar. they kept all the money plus i was told that they "storage unit." will be renting the unit to someone else. i was given a number by odalis to call corporate office and to speak with betsy @ 813-321-8808. i have called several times and keep getting a recording. i don't recommend this company at all. oh.....i had no option and had to give them star.......horrible customer service. i was put on speaker thru the entire conversation! read more

I have had this small storage space for approx. 6 years now. Most of the time when I go to the facility to pick up anything from my storage area, there are no carts to put things on to take out to my car. Today when I went there at approx. 11 a.m. (no carts) I had quite a few things to pick up for a special event. I went out to the customer service area (sign on door, they wouldn't be there from 9-12 today) I also noticed when I was taking some of my things out, it looked like there were some sort of rodent droppings on top of a few of the plastic bins. Then I literally had to make many trips from my storage area to a door (down 2 hallways) where I could put my things. Had to move my car next to that door to out load my things. (Note: I'm almost 80 years of age) Another couple walked over from the back storage building. They too were looking for a cart! the gentleman remarked how much he has to now pay (raising his rates again this year) He and his wife have been there 10 years. My rate has again been raised beginning next month as well, Getting quite expensive for a 5 X 10 space! read more
