I completely understand that Public Storage doesn't really care about any customers (even long term) thru hurricanes floods etc even if bldg generators themselves lose power and gates always jacked up. Texas area Montgomery, Waller, Conroe etc. We had no power for TEN+ days, no water, couldn't work due to Centerpoint (work hospitals closed too). Makes sense we are having trouble paying the rent. Yes it was few days late BUT when you know a HU Beryl Is coming you stash $$$ etc for food clothing shelter, gas. ADD the bank and airline internet issues. Hello late fees, cut the lock and pay for that too IF they cared- would give folks more time. They bot all the other storage around here so cannot even switch. In just over a year, my monthly rate for a 10 X 15 has gone from $127 a month to a whopping $210 a month. That's almost a ONE HUNDRED PERCENT INCREASE in a year's time! No matter how much I talk to the staff, it was all about what the market will ALLOW them to charge, rather than any kind of loyalty to an existing customer. Found a family-owned storage place that's less than a mile from me, and got a 10 X 25 for $115 a month! GOODBYE PUBLIC STORAGE! You obviously don't want my business, or that of anyone else I can tell about this. By the way, I'm north of Houston, Texas...not somewhere in California. read more

Had an amazing & painless move in experience all thanks to Karen who was able to help me return my lock that I didn't need as I brought my own. She didn't try to hassle me or convince me that I couldn't return it as some other places have done before. The whole interaction was very upbeat and friendly. I started with a $1 rent. I was convinced that was all I needed, but I have been here many years. They have always worked with me during hardship, and lately have been really good with answering the phones and returning phone calls when I leave a message. Pacey and Iecia have been rocks to stand on, and worked as a team to manage a rent increase on my behalf. Thank you! I appreciate that! The property, from the outside to the restrooms, is always clean. Can you believe I have never had any pests or seen them? The "neighbors" are nice, and it is safe. Just be careful of the traffic from the right if you're coming from the highway. It is a very quick entrance. Through the storms I never was flooded in my outside unit. I never had a problem with the air conditioned inside unit I once had. Carts for the most part can be found at the corral area and they always work, and so does the elevator. They are always improving their customer service and I appreciate their care and professionalism. read more

The property manager for this public storage, named Nicole, is one of the worst attitude people I run into in my life. She takes very long lunches and breaks out of the office and gets mad if you have an issue with it. FEES, FEES, FEES. If you dare, rent from this place and look at your charges, you will see. I would advise against renting from this place because they will nickel and dime you with late fees and try anything to run up a charge on your account. Yes, I understand it is in a very convenient location, but the convenience of the location does not make up for the attitudes and leeching of your money. read more

If you ever get to deal with Christine... good luck. Incredibly rude woman. Their doors at this location are broken more often than not so they make it challenging to even access your unit. Once you make it inside, it's difficult to find a cart because they probably have a total of four throughout the whole facility. And it's not that they're just that busy, there have been no other cars here and it's been a challenge to find a cart. The real kicker was when one entrance's door was broken (as usual) so we had to go around to the other side. Some inconsiderate person parked their car right in front of the unit's door so they blocked the entrance for anyone needing to use a cart to get their belongings inside. Christine happened to be outside showing a unit and when I asked very nicely if she wouldn't mind looking at the cameras to see whose car it was and where they were in the facility so we could ask them to move it, she very sharply responded back something along the lines of "I'm in the middle of a contract...". Where I responded, "Okay, well we're paying customers and can't access our unit..." She said she'd get to it whenever she was done. After twenty minutes, the person finally came out and moved their car after we had to walk around the building to find them. Horrible customer service. So sorry to inconvenience you, Christine. On top of that, they like to raise storage prices here on the regular. You may get a great price to start, but they'll increase the rate monthly at times. Sometimes as much as $10 at a time. We had two storage units with them for almost two years and they took full advantage. I'd highly recommend choosing a different storage place that doesn't employ people with the attitude of Christine. Just in case moving isn't annoying enough, Christine is the cherry on top of a bad experience. read more

Terrible Storage Facility! Its always hot inside (barely climate controlled), The gates break a lot so you have to find out the hard way you cant get in or out (they never put up signs), terrible hours, you can never get anywhere with the managers (Nicole is terrible- she is pretty useless), the carts are never where they are supposed to be. Worst of all, they reel you in with a great rate then raise your price 3 months in, once you are nice and settled. Cute scam! Btw the entire building reeks of chemical smell (which is probably all the rat and mouse poison in all the units). Which is scary, why do we need that much poison for rodents??? read more

If I could give this facility ZERO stars I would. I called and RESERVED a large outside driveup climate controlled unit - I was moving 1700 MILES across the country and needed to store the entire contents of my home until I can buy a house. Moving was not only grueling and stressful, but time sensitive and required me to coordinate the moving company and separate staff to unload the truck at the storage unit, in a location reasonably close to where I was staying and where I expected to buy a home. I made a RESERVATION. I received a confirmation email, spoke to staff while still in NJ. I even received a reminder email the day before I was to come in an sign papers and get keys for my unit. The VERY same day of rental I got another email reminder. But what happened was unforgivable and unprofessional and just plain ridiculous. I arrived there after a week of driving, exhausted after dealing with Imelda besides, and they had rented my RESERVED storage unit right out from under me! NOT ONLY was this no longer available, the ONLY replacement they could offer was second floor and a hundred yards in !! I had coordinated the moving truck to be there. I had coordinated separate people to be there to unload the truck. I had some extremely heavy pieces (+300lbs) And the ONLY thing they would offer was a unit on a second floor far inside - UNACCEPTABLE. I knew I would ALSO have to move all this furniture out in several months. I had a 300lb glass table, and heavy solid wood premium furniture. This is the reason I wanted the drive up climate controlled unit to begin with. the staff at the desk informed me that a RESERVATION only holds the price. UMMMM WHAT!!!???!!???! I couldn't believe my ears!! What the hell?!? No one ever told me that. NO ONE. And that is RIDICULOUS. I was so angry, upset, scrambling for a backup plan, I could BARELY SPEAK. I called the 'MANAGER" Joshua. Of course I only got voice mail. I left him a piece of my mind. ZERO CALL BACKS, No attempt to make any restitution not even an apology. Nothing. Finding a storage unit another 20 minutes away (NOW 40 Minutes from where I was staying) - and not drive up. NOT ONLY did my "RESERVATION" not even give me the price I had reserved (free first months rent - even though this was NOT about the money) - but the doggone reservation was literally USELESS AND MEANINGLESS 100%. PLUS the manpower to unload now charged me MORE, and the Unit cost me more than DOUBLE, and the moving company charged my $150 to send the truck further than the original destination (Im stuck way out in Tomball) Yes I was angry. Yes I will tell this long story because it's just plain poor business. Every time I drive 40 minutes to that storage unit, I am angry all over again. If you think you are reserving a unit, ask the question. Is it really reserved? I would have PAID for it in full in advance to make sure this situation did not happen IF I HAD KNOWN. After all the stress of moving across country alone, exhausted and in a major tropical storm, this was about the LAST thing I needed. read more

UPDATED REVIEW 07/10/2016 I am updating my original review from two stars to four stars for one simple reason. Impressive customer service. Several days after leaving my original review, I received a phone call from Roger Clark, the Regional Vice President of Public Service. He stated that he had seen my review and wanted to discuss my concerns. He asked me to explain him my concerns. After listening, he told me that he wanted me to know (paraphrased) "that I mattered, I was important to the company and they wanted to address my concerns." He took the time to explain to me how and why the decision to raise rates are made. It helped me to understand better why the rates have risen. I made the suggestion to him, to include an explanation of the reason rates are rising in their form letter to customers. I think it would help us to understand that their was a legitimate need to raise rates and not just appear to be greed. After chatting, I explained to him that I was a single mother, working multiple jobs and that to some $45.00 is not a big deal, but it adds up to me paying an extra $540.00 a year. Mr. Clark then offered to extend a promotional rate to me, that would save me some money. I really appreciated it, and even if he did not make that offer, I would still have updated my review, as I think it speaks highly of the company to listen to the voices and concerns of their customers and make an effort to rectify any issues. I have NEVER had a person call me to address my concerns from a YELP review, and have only had one or two responses to my reviews on Yelp from the business itself. Well done Public Storage. ORIGINAL REVIEW When this was owned by another company, I paid $99.00 a month for my unit. When Public Storage bought them out, my rent went from $99.00 to $144.00 over a span of 2 years. It just seems like every 6 months I am getting a notice that rent is increasing. If I had to rent another storage unit, Public Storage would not be my first choice. read more
