Warning: do NOT rent a unit at this location! It is not secure. There is no one on the property. The gate has been open and broken for almost a week now and my unit has already been tampered with. When I got to my unit today, the lock was taken off. Naturally, the first thing I do is call customer service to see if anyone can come out and figure out whats wrong with the gate. I spoke to some woman named "elle" who gave me the run around. She had no idea what to tell me. (very sketchy) In fact, I had to prompt her on what to ask me!! ha. She lied to me and told me that there are "people monitoring the property via security camera." So thats when I asked her why then have they not fixed the broken gate if they are aware of it being open and broken? She could not answer me. There is no one monitoring this property. There is not a security protocol in place and no security. At all. The "property manager" does not answer their phone. "elle" lied to me and told me she "shut the gate" remotely, then advised me not to drive by to check to make sure its closed. (keep in mind that closing the gate remotely would mean the gate is in fact working) I drove by to see if she was telling the truth, and the gate was still open. Why would she lie about that? I am very sketched out by this company and their utter lack of security and security protocols. There is literally nothing stopping the general public from driving right into the property and tampering with everyone's storage. Thats exactly what happened with my unit. Also, their site claims the property manager lives on the property. That is also a lie. This is not a safe or secure storage company and their customer service staff lied directly and intentionally to me (which is extremely odd and makes me believe there is something worse going on) id absolutely look elsewhere! I found the property manager very responsive and helpful. Like everyone, they have had staffing trouble with Covid but the manager is quick to return calls and meet you at the property. She called back several times to make sure everything was good. The location is the best I'm aware of for Richmond Heights / Brentwood read more

I recently had the most wonderful customer service experience at the Brentwood location. Kami the property manager was very thorough, patient and professional in answering all of my questions pertaining to the facility and the storage units. She provided me a first hand experience by walking me to different units explaining to me fully the sizes of units. By the time she finished I knew I was at the right place. Anyone who is looking for a first class customer service experience and the opportunity to store their goods this is the place for you. On a scale of 1-10 my experience was off the scale. read more

Probably should have realized when the guy that rented us the unit initially couldn't stop talking about leaving and how glad he was to be "out of there," we were in for a bad ride. It's been a consistent series of let downs by this company with poor business practices, "system errors" that result in us paying more money, HORRIBLE customer service from their property manager and district manager, personal property damage by their employees that's resulted in over $40 in unnecessary charges to us this month alone. Better Business Bureau complaint was just filed. If you're not already here, I'd say STAY AWAY. read more

They do not want your business here. There are wonderful Public Storage locations in the St Louis area; this is not one of them. Service is very careless and rude, units are not well kept and have limited options, and the entrance alone is a turn off: a very steep, sharp turn in with torn up asphalt. I am moving to this location from another Public Storage location because of it's proximity to Clayton and my experience from the moment I walked in until the moment I walked out was 5 stars without question!!! I don't know what's going on with the only other reviews, both of which are 1 star, but they certainly don't reflect my experience with the facility and with Sarah at the front desk who is an absolute rock star...she's friendly, professional, fast and efficient, and left me feeling grateful that I got the last 5'x15' at this location! read more

I didn't think it could get worse. After telling me that the lot is secure and there is all sorts of security, the gate has been broken and left wide open for the last few weeks. Though I went into the office to make sure they were taking payments out of the correct account and looked the manager in the eye and said this is the card for future payments, they kept taking money out of the old account with no money. When it bounced back to them, guess what, they charged me a $25.00 fee. Like another reviewer, I went to EZ storage, much nicer and more secure facility, and better rates. I am paid through the end of the month and I noticed them that I am moving out at the end of the month and wouldn't you know, they have called me and sent me a threatening email to pay the $25.00 fee or they will take me to collections. It's not even the end of the month yet. Read between the lines. . . they are desperate for money (broken gate, increasing rates after a few months, charging customers for their mistake, chasing customers for $25.00 before their time is up.) read more

This is a HORRIBLE company! I have had a storage unit there for the past couple of years, after having to downsize to a condo after a divorce. I am a single mother on a very limited budget. They get you in with a good rate, and within 3 months, raise it at least 30%, and keep raising it every 3 to 6 months. I downsized my unit and moved it twice to keep within my budget. I begged the manager to hold me a rate, and she was rude and said that they do not control rates, and told me to call their 1-800 number, and said, "Good luck with that!" I did call twice, and they were rude and have a standard line of "that is a fair market rate." It is a JOKE! I had one 5 x 10 unit go from $1 the first month to $52 to $63 to $83 to $91 all within 12 months! And their roof leaks! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Instead, use EZ Storage just around the corner on Manchester. They are WONDERFUL. They guaranteed me a rate, gave me 50% off the first 3 months, and supply the truck for you to move your things. The office people are friendly, but that is about the only good thing with this storage facility. I stored my place in this facility because it was close to my then fiance (now wife) and we were going to live in that area. We didn't have enough room in our place to store her stuff and my stuff. When we got a bigger place I went to move some of my furniture out of the storage unit...it had been there about a year. I opened the main door for the whole unit and right away I smelled must. I prayed that it didn't affect my unit...but as soon as I opened the door to my unit everything had water damage. A bed set (bed frame, head/foot board, mattress, box spring, dresser, night stand), couch, love seat, and all the cushions. I even had the couch and love seat sitting on and wrapped in plastic, but the water had dripped from the beams going across the top of the unit. Thankfully they make you buy and pay for insurance every month, but I'm in the middle of getting reimbursed now and they make you jump through hoops to even have the claim considered. I will never rent a unit from this company again and will tell everyone I know who is considering renting a storage unit to use a different company. read more
