This place was great at 1st. Been a customer since 2016. Now every 6 months the price keeps going up. You would think they would have some loyalty to a customer of 10 years who has never missed paying their bill on time, amd I only have a 5x5 unit. **1 Star** I would not recommend this Public Storage location. They raise rental rates without notifying customers, which feels deceptive. On top of that, the employees are rude and unhelpful. Whelp there looks like it has been a leak in that unit before and not only that online they give you the option to bring your own lock but of course it does not say that it has to be one of the circle locks they have and I hate those locks. It's hard to use with me having carpal tunnel in my hands and when I asked the employee what I would need to do if I needed a refund on the lock they provided that I had my own lock her exact words were unless it's a circle one I can't use it. So now I'm stuck hurting myself every time I need to go to the storage. When my month is up I'm moving my stuff from here. Only good thing was the price. But I will never use this facility again. read more

I spoke to the folks over the phone because their site wouldn't let me finish my reservation , they told my I could finish everything in the office and it would be the same price. I went to the office and found out that the people at customer service didn't tell me the truth and that it would be substantially higher. I was ready to pull out and try another company but fortunately Michelle was able to straighten everything out and was extremely helpful. I've made all my payments on time and in full and they have charged my account with false charges and have marked my items to go to auction! I called to clarify things assuming it was a stupid mistake and the property manager screamed at me over and over how I never paid for August and how my stuff is going to auction because of my October payment..... um.... it's September!!!!!! Absolutely horrific how she treated me despite my kindness. After ending the call I went straight to the better business bureau! I urge you to do the same!!!! Vert difficult to get to units. Very tight hallways with lots of turns. Astronomical price increases. I started at $45 and in the last four years they have now raised it most recently to $187 from $137. I'm out! read more

The staff that work here are very friendly but they are powerless to do anything. Public Storage is incredibly unethical, and once you start with them, it is incredibly difficult to leave. Once you do, they are glad to keep taking your money (and refuse to refund you). I would highly recommend that you choose somewhere other than Public Storage. There are a bunch of better options that have good customer service and staff that are able to actually get things done. read more

I never do reviews on line. But I do want to do one for Public Storage employees. The employees are great and really have great customer service skills. The company itself, I not to sure of. Price changes are happening and I have only been there a couple of months, the company knows they have you in a spot. This place is great, if you like PESTS. I have rented here since 2010. For the first couple of years the place was great. I mainly stored tools and musical equipment. A few months back I arrived to find a violin case covered in clothes moths. The management said it was my fault, even though the case had been in the unit for three years. They claimed it could not have been the unit next to me because it only had persian rugs in it(clothes moths love persian rugs btw). Thanks to my entomologist friend I was able to figure they have lots of pantry moths too. Watch out. read more

Anyone who uses Public Storage is a fool like I was. Do yourself a favor and just read a few of the hundreds of complaints about the company and their practices. They are all true, from making you buy their locks, their insurance, not friendly, etc. the biggest one and most important is that they raise your rent after a few short months. Mine was raised about 20% after 5-6 months. The place is a scam. Find yourself a reputable company and run from Public Storage. read more

My husband and I recently stored some items in a 5x5 unit here while planning & making our move from New York to the RTP area. Tracye and Ray in the office were super helpful, and both incredibly kind & accommodating. They called us to ensure that we paid our storage fees on time so we would not be billed additional (late) fees. Customer service here deserves 5 stars! Our 5x5 unit was on the second floor, which is accessible by elevator. They have carts for you to use to wheel all of your items to wherever your unit is. We received a $1 first month special since we booked online, but pricing is reasonable for these units regardless. You do have to buy a lock from them for $19.99 when you arrive, as their locks are specifically made for these units, and you have to purchase insurance (minimum is $11/month). Aside from those, there are no hidden fees, which is really nice. Very affordable! Our unit was also temperature controlled, which was nice since we stored some electronics & instruments that could be damaged in a non-temperature controlled environment. Location wise, the highway that this location is off of is kind of beaten up, but not unmanageable. When you first pull in, you have to turn to the right and drive past a drop-off area that is kind of scary to drive next to, but again, not unmanageable. I would definitely recommend this location for short-term, affordable storage. I cannot give an accurate review for long-term storage, but would imagine it's just as great for this! read more

I've had dozens of storage units in the past and this is by far the worst experience ever. If you ever plan on getting back in your storage unit when you want, good luck. The people seem friendly to help, but actually can't do anything. I was advised to call customer service and beg for help on something because the office couldn't actually change anything on my account. The office suggested me to do this, but not tell them that the office told me to. Negative experience getting in and out of my storage unit. If you're actually looking for something with climate control, this is false advertising. I was sweating one time inside the building and then the next time I had the chills, so that would tell me this is not regulated. I would highly recommend working with someone other than public storage from the start, or you will regret the inital choice! Good luck! I wasted $90 a month at this place when the first month I signed up it said $1 for your first month, which is actually just the remainder of the calendar month but then you'll want to add in your cost of a lock they require you to purchase plus admin fees, so I actually didn't save any money. $54 for my first 2 weeks. Then $65 the next month, then $75 the next, then $90 the next 2 months and I finally scheduled my move out. WHEW! WORST EXPERIENCE!! read more

The price wouldn't be so bad if everything worked all the time. That said it always seems like one of the gates or doors is always broken which means they have to leave it open 24/7. That makes it kind of hard to control the climate when one of those huge doors is wide open. I've also been in there several times when the A/C is just not even working. Again this is why you're paying the extra money is to keep your stuff from getting mildewed and gross from the heat and humidity. I've been to the office a few times to talk to Ms. Tracey. She's very sweet and does what she can to help you but there isn't much she can do. She told me they had called to get repairs done but had no estimate on when those repairs would be completed. I've also called the District Manager several times to be sent to voice mail and no return calls. At the end of the day they kind of have you cornered with no better options so I leave my stuff in partially climate controlled sometimes secure storage... for now. read more

It's great if you don't mind paying premium rates for climate control and find out that 5 out of the 7 months a year it hasn't been climate controlled (3 months broken door on 20 degree nights) and 2 months without the AC working due to a "custom part". They do not care and the heat and humidity will cause pests and severe damage to furniture and items that need to be climate controlled. You do not even get a notification or sign posted of an issue...I met another couple that said they put in a thermostat and it was actually 90 degrees and 60-70% of the humidity for the last 3 months (and since they had problems in several units with bugs). read more

Unfair pricing. I've had the same unit for 10 years and they have hiked the rent up every year with little justification. I'm currently paying $212 for a 10' x 10'! You can get the same unit today for $143. In order to get this rate now, I would have to move everything out of the current unit, then move into a new unit the same day. As ridiculous as this is, I am currently unable to do this because I live overseas. I've spoken with the Area Manager, Chris DiPento and he was completely unwilling to work with us AT ALL. Next trip home it's getting cleared and moving it to a new location. No advantage to being a long time customer, quite the opposite. AVOID. read more
