I came to my unit last night to find that the security gate to the parking lot was wide open. Known problem - rep said "it does that in the winter" - unacceptable for a business that touts its security and literally has security in its name. Anyone could walk directly into the building. When I got to the two units I rent, one had been tagged for re-rent even though I'm paid up for two more weeks and the other had been locked. Rent was paid on both in full and on time. It turns out, they claim ("during a routine audit") that I had not signed a lease for one of them on 10/5/2020 when I rented it. If true, that's certainly not tough to solve. They emailed me on a Saturday (11/21) about it and apparently locked the unit immediately. They did not send the lease to me to sign nor provide a way to do that electronically. They refused to take the lock off when I needed to move several things (at 6:45pm, within their open access hours) after discovering it. I lost the night and don't know when I can get back to empty the unit. Very disappointing. When I called their customer service, she immediately sent me a link to sign the lease electronically. It's not clear why that hadn't been done on 11/21 if this was an urgent issue and so simple to resolve. Poor business practices. They said the policy was to lock the unit after 25 days, which would have been 10/30; yet they still charged and collected rent from me without any issues on 11/9. Blocking me access to the unit that I have paid for is illegal. I can't understand how they felt like that was an appropriate remedy to resolve their own administrative issue. I spoke to "Seth" about it this morning. He would not provide his last name as "he does not give that out." He was defensive and unfriendly. He identified himself as a "project manager/supervisor" and represented that he has no manager/supervisor. He said what happened was in accordance with "company policy" and refused to do anything about it or even just apologize for the inconvenience, which was pretty significant. Put simply, the company policy is illegal if it includes locking tenants out of units that they have paid for. I will not rent from this company again. read more

This place is fantastic. The staff - Carlton is who I have worked with- is so nice and accommodating. I've called with many questions about storage, trucks, etc and they are always SO nice. I rented a Penske from them to do a local move recently and it was a quick and painless process compared to other moves. The storage facility is safe, clean, and just plain nice. Plus you get your first month free which you can't beat! Really glad I chose this place.Fantastic experience. read more

The experience I had was spectacular. The truck ran with out any flaws. When we parked the truck, all we had to do was park the truck in SSS's lot and tell the front desk we were back. We only had to drive it one way, which was a plus since we had to drive 855 miles! The only con we had was that we had to pay &50.00 ( which was a bogus amount after we filled the gas tank 1.5 miles down the road! ) Just a tip, make sure to completely fill the gas tank before returning the truck. read more

Security Self Storage on Beryl Rd is a great self storage! It's climate controlled, clean and the staff is very friendly. I like the security that the electronic, code activated gate offers. Some other nice features are the Dock height, which accommodates a truck as well as a ramp. read more

We recently moved to NC from OR. Kyle, the manager, held a spot for us for a couple of weeks. When accidentally a coworker rented our spot out, he gladly moved us to as other closer storage location, have us a bigger spot for the same price and our 2nd month free! Great customer service! read more

I loved working with Alexa. She was very easy to deal with. As I observed her with customers (including me), she was extremely patient, and very friendly. Don't waste your time calling other storage facilities. This is THE BEST place to go. The best rates in town, and very accommodating. This place takes great care of their customers! Alexa helped me find the right units, and the right location where the tractor-trailer was going to unload our items. Even though I will be there for a short period of time, she still offered a discount on the units. The units were perfect. They were clean. And they were climate-controlled, so I don't have to worry about my items being damaged during the summer heat! They also have Penske moving trucks, and I will be using one of those trucks to unload the rental units. My worries are over, thanks to Security Self Storage. read more

We had to help move someone and could only use about 3/4 of the storage capacity for fear of getting disgusting smells on furniture, mattresses, etc. When we asked if we could have even a partial refund, owner refused and the guy on site said it wasn't his problem. The smell could have come from 'weather' which was pretty hilarious. I know if I had left the truck in that condition, I would have been charged extra. But naturally, if they leave the truck that way for the customer, no penalty. I think having a dirty truck to rent is one thing, but not responding to the customer's request for a partial refund because 'there's nothing we can do' is just bad business.

The indoor part of the facility used to be a supermarket or department store, so it is quite large. The whole place is clean, well lit, and the air conditioning is better than I expected. Nicely cool in the summer, and comfortably warm in the winter. My unit was on the end, right near the curbside door, but I noticed looking down the aisles that they are very wide, if you wanted to access your unit while the tenant across did the same, there would be no problem. The roll-up door worked smoothly, and the built-in lock eliminates having to buy or supply a padlock. There are always plenty of flatbed carts available. Not 24 hour access, but you can get in 7:30 am to 10 pm every day, holidays included. Office staff very friendly and helpful, and the managers live onsite. Even when the office was closed, a few times when I went to my unit, I saw one of the managers, so they don't close up the office and disappear. Although I didn't have a need for it, I noticed they have plenty of room for outside storage (like vehicles & equipment) and again, it is clean and well organized. If I ever need storage again, I will definitely return here.

We chose Safe & Sound because of the company's stellar Yelp reviews and its average Yelp rating when compared to other moving companies in the Triangle. Safe & Sound seemed like a safe bet and I'm happy to report that it was. We moved from a two-bedroom apartment to a two-bedroom condo. We added on: (1) a stop to drop off furniture at my parents' house in High Point, North Carolina and (2) haul-away of some items in Atlanta. The total cost for everything was $4,075, broken down as follows: * 2 movers + equipment, loading in Chapel Hill (1 hour, minimum) - $155 * 2 movers + equipment, loading in Chapel Hill (0.5 hour, additional time required) - $77.50 * 2 movers + equipment, unloading in High Point (1 hour, minimum) - $155 * 2 movers + equipment, unloading in Atlanta (1 hour, minimum) - $155 * Deposit for travel and truck - $50 * Haul-away (junk removal) of double mattress, double box spring, bed frame, one standard dining room chair, and torchiere floor lamp - $125 * Remainder of balance for travel - $2,875 * Additional cost/payment - $182.50 * Tip for mover 1 - $150 * Tip for mover 2 - $150 A $485 total deposit was due upfront to secure the reservation. We asked for the movers to show up at a specific date and time. We paid the $485 total deposit 26 days in advance with a credit card. The rest ($3,590) was paid via multiple Zelle transactions after we arrived in Atlanta. In hindsight, I think I may have overpaid $50 because the $50 deposit for the travel and truck was included in our $485 total deposit. I believe that same $50 was included in the remainder of the balance for travel. In other words, I think the $2,875 above should have been $2,825, but I could be wrong. Also, in my stress and exhaustion from the move, I forgot what the additional cost/payment of $182.50 was for. It made sense at the time, when I signed the form ("Uniform Household Goods Bill of Lading - 35 Miles or Less") after the move was complete. I was just happy it was over and that my wife, the movers, and I all made it safely to Atlanta in three separate vehicles on moving day. I do think all of the costs could have been communicated more clearly in writing for our understanding. Money aside, as for the move itself, it generally went well. We scheduled a 9:00-10:00am arrival window for the movers. This was on a Wednesday. We were packed and ready to go at 9am. Unfortunately, the movers were delayed and showed up around 10:45am. They arrived in a 26-foot white Penske truck. It's my understanding they rented it that morning. While it was overkill for the amount of stuff we had, I believe it was the best available truck at the time. It looked new. The movers were Hamza (lead) and Sula. They were great. Very kind and polite. These were young guys in their early 20s. They both wore Safe & Sound T-shirts. They worked hard, quickly and carefully wrapping and protecting our queen mattress and furniture with stretch wrap and blankets, and moving all sorts of heavy boxes and miscellaneous items (e.g., my awkward and heavy standing desk system, computer monitor, office chair mat, torchiere floor lamp, vacuum cleaner) from our third-floor apartment with no elevator on a hot summer day. At the loading site, we treated them to cold Gatorades. It took them about 1.5 hours to do the load in Chapel Hill. We left Chapel Hill around roughly 12:30pm. Hamza ran the show. We made it clear which items were to be dropped off first in High Point and which items were going all the way to Atlanta. No issues there. My parents were very happy with Hamza and Sula's work at the unload in High Point. The two made it to Atlanta around 10:00pm and the unload in Atlanta took less than an hour. Long day. My wife and I made it to Atlanta earlier - around 7:30pm. Unlike Hamza and Sula, we did not stop in High Point. We wanted to get to Atlanta before them so we could get the condo ready for the unload. It worked out. Hamza told me they were going to try and drive back to Raleigh/Cary that night! Only one of our items, a shoe rack, was damaged. All things considered, not a big deal so I didn't bring it up. I can remember three other moves I did with three other moving companies and one item was damaged in each move. It happens. For the haul-away, I only mentioned the mattress and box spring. I added on the other items when I saw them in Atlanta. They didn't charge me extra for that, which I appreciate and must mention here. I sent the tips directly and individually to Hamza and Sula for a job well done. As for scheduling and payment, my wife and I communicated with Jaber (a.k.a. Omar), the owner of Safe & Sound Moving Company. Jaber was on top of everything and quick to respond via Yelp messaging, text messaging, and phone calls. Thank you, Jaber, Hamza, and Sula!

Also, there are size limitations, as my cleaver was too large for the machine. While I waited for the sharpening machine to work its magic (8-15 mins approx), had an opportunity to look around. Avoid Using Budget Dumpster and Avoid Damage to Your Property…read more.. (I contemplated giving them only one star, but figured a two-star rating would draw readers, as one-star ratings tend to appear as knee-jerk responses to bad service) In early February, 2025, I rented a dumpster from Budget Dumpster for the second time in as many years. My first experience was fine. This one was a disaster, complete with several hundred dollars worth of property damage for which Budget Dumpster compensated me only a fraction of the cost. Upon delivery, the driver gouged a trench into my gravel driveway. I did not notice it until the dumpster was picked up 10 days later. That damage by itself would've been somewhat tolerable, but it was upon pick-up that the real damage occurred. I'm not sure who they employ to drive their vehicles, but this individual's CDL should be revoked. Despite having an wide entry to the driveway being used for deliveries of this nature (which has accommodated trucks of all sizes for years), the driver drove off of the side of the road and THROUGH my yard, damaging the moss turf (complete with deep tire tracks). Then they ran over the decorative edge of my fence at the edge of the property, and topped off the damage by crushing a 6"x 6''x 6' landscape timber, bordering my driveway. I immediately called Budget dumpster to start the claim process. To their credit, I got a response the next business day, but after that initial engagement, nothing but crickets for 10 days. They finally responded with a request for estimates, despite having photos of the damage, so right out of the gate they wanted me to do the legwork. When I provided that information to them, I got an immediate response indicating they would only pay approximately 25% of what it would cost for materials and labor to repair the damages. In this offer, they included the following contract language excerpt: EXCEPT IN THE EVENT OF GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR INTENTIONAL MISCONDUCT, CUSTOMER HEREBY WAIVES ANY AND ALL CLAIMS AND LOSSES AGAINST THE COMPANY AND ITS SUBCONTRACTORS, HAULER SUBCONTRACTORS... OK, so driving through my yard, damaging the turf, crushing the edge of a fence and a landscape timber, not to mention the initial damage incurred upon delivery (a 6ft x 6in gouge in my gravel driveway) isn't GROSS NEGLIGENCE??? Best case, it's egregious driver incompetence. If you look at the photos below, I think "gross negligence" is pretty obvious. In addition, it seems Budget Dumpster grudgingly acknowledged some degree of "gross negligence," otherwise, why would they offer any compensation at all? Regardless, I rejected their lowball offer, but in the end - after a couple of hours of emails and back-and-forth phone calls with someone who only referred to themselves as "David R." in Ohio (why not provide your last name to your customers, David?) - they only added an additional $36 to the overall claim and washed their hands of any other responsibility or costs. The rest was on me, and as a retired disabled Vet, I do not look forward to having to repair that fence or remove/replace a heavy railroad tie on my own. Among readers of this review, some might say "Hey, quit complaining - you got a little something." My response to that would be why should I or any other customer accept that? Why is it OK for any business to come onto anyone's property and do hundreds of dollars worth of damage, but only pay a small percentage of that and walk away? So I guess in closing I'll simply say that if any of you are willing to accept this kind of buffoonery and incompetence from any business, much less a second rate dumpster company like Budget Dumpster, then be my guest and hire them. Maybe you'll get lucky and the driver won't destroy too much of your property. To the rest of you, I'd advise not doing business with Budget Dumpster, especially anyone who has served and been disabled in the performance of their duties as a Military Veteran or First Responder.

The service was top notch and Carlton was very helpful with our moving needs. We needed a truck in addition to a unit and he was able to get us the right size truck. The truck was clean and new. I personally love Penske, so I was glad they had them at this location. He was upfront about the costs of the truck rental and we only ended up about $5 more than had been figured out. This was due to a little extra milage. All in all, I would definitely recommend this place for your moving needs. read more

Was a little lost at first but contacted the office and the gentleman there was very helpful. He understood how the directions were not accurate on our device. Walked him and he was happy to actually get our truck as he needed it for a reservation the next day. A side note to mention, when we picked up our truck in another city and we noticed that our AAA discount was not listed, he was able to assist us and getting the credit back. Friendly Staff. Mr Shaun, has been an amazing help with getting us the right storage fit for our needs. This place is always clean, staff is so friendly, and welcoming. Shaun is always willing to help and resolve any issues. I've been here almost 2 years and we absolutely love this place. Need a safe affordable place for the items that mean so much to you, store them here. You will be glad you did. A very safe place for you even after hours, they have security cameras inside and out. I would give 10 stars if they were available! This is the first time I have ever rented a storage unit and I was very reserved and had lots of questions. Brittany not only answered all my questions but took me to see my options and worked with me to reserve just the right space for my needs. I returned the next day to complete my rental agreement and Devin assisted me. She also went above and beyond to help me. After having bad experiences with U-Haul, I decided to give a Penske truck a shot. The manager, I believe her name was Alexa (now I feel bad for forgetting...), was kind and helped me change my reservation twice without sounding annoyed! SSS was so helpful when we picked up our Penske truck. We actually reserved a trailer too, but we decided against it at the last minute. SSS accommodated us and helped us change our reservation right there at the store. We were in and out In Less than 15 minutes. We were helped by a man named Kyle. He was great to work with.
