This U-Haul location was conveniently close to home and I trusted that going to a U-Haul facility…read morewould be a safer bet than going to some random pick-up/drop-off non-branded location. We were able to pick up our 10" U-Haul truck 3 hours early and check-in was pretty quick. They kept offering us options to save money by dropping off at other locations, the first one being an extra 5 hour drive to a totally different state. This was pretty ridiculous and time consuming and not worth the price difference. Our U-Haul was clean and had 1/2 a tank of gas in it. Unfortunately, the truck desperately needed a visit to the mechanic. My husband drove it from NC to TN and said that the steering wheel was shaking every-time he would brake. It also sounded like it needed a new control arm. My husband mentioned that the seats were comfortable but they don't push back so it's a tight squeeze for tall people. There are also no USB plugs in the truck so you need a cigarette lighter charger for the trip. We spent a little over $700 for 4 days of use from Raleigh, NC to Nashville, TN. It did its job and we were able to bring whatever the movers couldn't take/we didn't want them handling. However, do drive the U-Haul truck a little bit before moving across states to make sure everything is in good running health.

They blast their $19.95 special, with $.99 a mile. Then add at least 16$ more dollars of "state required " BS !! They DO NOT Disclose you need to replace the gas up front. I was on a mission and had no time or desire to read 40zillion teeny tiny words on a contract. The man at the next counter was also shouting at the clerk due to inconsistent pricing. The ONLY reason I gave it two stars because the vehicle was clean, the gentleman that took the vehicle back was very nice and didn't call the cops on me hahaha. I hope to NEVER need to do this again!!! Sorry.... Long
