I had a bad night that ended with me and my three kids stuck on the shoulder of I-40 near 15-501. I had to leave my minivan for the night and the next morning I called a tow company that quoted me $85 just to come out and $5/mile. Thanks to Yelp reviewers, I called Reliable and I got quoted a flat rate of $85 that I think was based on the size of the car. Rick said he needed the key and would come to my house to pick it up in about 20 minutes. I had to drop my kids off and thought I had time but he got there in about 12 minutes and called me when he arrived. He didn't mind waiting on me and went to get some breakfast around the corner (which he offered to leave once I called to say I was home but I insisted he go ahead and eat since it was my fault for the delay). He was very nice and polite. He took my car to the service shop I requested and even gave me a courtesy call to say that he had delivered it. I would totally recommend Reliable and use them again in the future. Very classy and courteous. read more

Mr. Ricky Brown is as the name says, Reliable. The only thing better they could have called the company was Reliable, Best Price in Durham, and greatest customer service Towing Service but that is much too long for a business card. I had to have my fiance's Jeep Wrangler towed from her home in Raleigh to my place in Durham due to unsafe issues with the axle. Called him at 5:10pm on a Friday and he was ready to help. It didn't matter about rush hour nor most folks off duty hours he was on it for the same price he quoted me around lunch. Did not worry with loading cost and price per mile just a flat fee. Believe me I want service in a service industry but I also don't have a ton of extra money so I checked around and he was the cheapest. So when I say look no further just give him a call, you can look but you will just be wasting your time. Price, customer service, and reliability all in one place. A couple of days ago my car died for good. I did some research and found Reliable Towing to be the cheapest service for where I was and needed to go. It was also the only towing service that stated they could bring my car onto the weight scale in the scrap yard where I was planning on selling it (the scrap yard said the tow truck would have to do it, and the three other towing companies that I contacted said the scrap yard would have to handle it). I asked if him if I could meet around 3pm, and he said to call him when I was close to the car. When I got to the parking lot, a few minutes late, he was already there! And here's the best part: he actually suggested another company - right on the spot - that bought the car for $75 more than the scrap yard would have. Cool calm and centered describes the proprietor Ricky who has a way about him that envelops you with safe, professional, and caring service. I never gave a second thought to turning over my precious car to his care while loading and unloading . He was gracious enough to allow my shedding dog in his clean cabin, caring for my pet"s welfare as well as mine. I am blown away by the prompt response and outstanding customer service. I called for a tow because my car would not show any signs of life, Ricky responded, gave some suggestions. car started immediatetly. Most towing services show up, load vehicle and transport to specified location, which is Ok, Ricky could have done the same, collected his fee and been on his way. I called Reliable Towing a few weeks ago because i needed to get my crappy car to my mechanics house. I called the nice gentleman and he answered right away. He asked for my address and my mechanics. The price was way more affordable than others i've researched landing at $65! He got to my house in about 20 minutes and carefully loaded my car unto the truck. When he got it all packed up, i asked for a reciept and he kindly wrote one out for me. I asked him if he could call me when the car arrived and he did just that! Great service - true to its name. I called Mr. Brown the evening before and set up a time to tow my truck to the service station. He arrived the next morning exactly as scheduled, got all the information he needed from me and to make sure he could check the truck in when he arrived. When I got to the shop, he had already dropped off the truck and made sure he knew who was working on my vehicle. Very good price, given over the phone the day before. He accepts credit cards, too! Great service, and a very nice and patient guy. Rick was on his way to my mom's house to tow a car when she accidentally locked the keys in the car. I called Rick and he was very nice about it and told me to call him when the car was unlocked. About an hour later, I called him and he was able to quickly tow the car to my house. Rick was able to back it into my driveway and slide the car down the ramp under a carport with surgical precision. Regarding pricing, I also called one other Durham towing company for a quote and Reliable came in slightly lower, by about 5%. read more

Just had my car towed by Reliable Towing Service and I must say, this was THE BEST SERVICE I have had in a long time. Mr. Ricky Brown was friendly and professional. When I contacted him, he said he would be to my location in 30 minutes and he was Johnny-On-The Spot!! He took great care in loading up my car. He charged a reasonable rate. He accepts cards too!! Based on the other positive Yelp reviews here, I contacted Ricky @ Reliable to have my car towed from my office in Morrisville to the VW dealership in Durham. Rate was a very reasonable $85. (Another service had quoted me $100+). He showed up right when he said would and handled my car with care. I did feel better having my car up on the full flatbed, rather than having it drug around by its nose for 20+ miles. I hope I never need this service again anytime soon, but I'm glad to report that Reliable Towing is aptly named. read more

12/16/2010- The weather was the pitts when my vehicle broke down. A call to Reliable Towing brought a promise of service in 30 min - to my surprise and please the truck arrived in under 15 minutes. The drive was very courteous. The vehicle was towed from Durham to Raleigh at a very reasonable rate. The driver made the ordeal toleraible. He negotiated our difficult driveway and deposited our car right in front of the garage through a maze of trees and stumps in the dark after rescuing me from being stranded 28 miles from home.
