Told me if you want to save money pack as much of it as you can and we'll pack what's left. We packed up 90% of the house. There packers came to my house weeks later to finish and was there for 1.5 hours and charged me $850.00. After the move the price was $800 more than what was quoted to me because they said we were 3000# over the estimated weight price. I can see being off by 1000# but 3000#? When I contacted the "franchise manager" Chris of the Garner, NC office, he told me he would look into it. Waiting for his reply verbally never came. A week later I received an email from him basically saying " tough shit" and he charged my credit card. The balance of the move with the additional $800. What better way to get your business. They give you the cheapest quote and charge you a deposit then after the move is done they tell you your weight is more than they said it was. That goes for the packing portion also. If they would have packed my entire 2300 sq ft house how do they come up with $1500-2000 quote? It would have taken them at least 4 more hours to pack the whole house and would have been much more than quoted. These guys under quote there prices to get your business. When they do the job the price is considerably higher. Go with someone else. What is the purpose of a virtual walk thru when it means nothing to the final bill? I knew it was an estimated weight but being off 3000# is unacceptable.

The movers, Benjamin & Maliki, were on time, kind, and also patient with us. They wrapped everything very well & met me in Rhode Island a few days later. They were all really easy to work with and made this huge move much smoother for us. Thank you guys! Katie

During the move, multiple crew members disappeared for periods exceeding one hour without explanation. One mover took particular notice of my wife's jewelry, watching closely as she handled it that morning. Her jewelry -- including pieces of deep family significance passed down through generations -- was secured in our locked vehicle with no signs of forced entry and driven directly to our new home. At the destination, the same mover who had observed the jewelry that morning offered multiple times to carry the specific bag containing it into the house. My wife placed the bag in our bedroom closet. At some point during the remainder of the move, we were outside the home. The following morning the jewelry was gone. When we reported this to CEO William Saunders, he stated -- verbatim -- "we have never had anything like this happen and this could ruin us." He requested we not contact police for 24 hours, stating he wanted to speak with his crew first, and indicated he had a good idea who may have been responsible based on issues that person had "when he was young." We honored his request. The items were not returned. My wife spoke with Mr. Saunders separately and independently, and his statements to her were consistent with what he told me. Mr. Saunders later disputed making those earlier statements. A police report has been filed. The investigation is active.

After that, things went downhill. And quickly. We were to move out Tuesday, Sept 12 (starting no later than 9am) because closing on our home was at 2pm and we were to move in to our new home on Wednesday, Sept 13 right after closing. First of all, the movers were 20 min late on the first moving day. Never even called. I called and was told they were almost there. Then they had to do a walk-through and paperwork, so moving didn't start until 9:45. After the guys moved some stuff, they kept sitting in garage watching the rain instead of bringing items downstairs. They said they couldn't work in the rain. Finally they "finished" at 2:05, were paid, and I was able to finish cleaning. We had to load my car and store several things at a neighbor's house because they ran out of room on the truck. Then, they were to meet me at the new house after closing the following day. Again, they were late. Still no phone call. I called and the owner said it was his fault and he told them the wrong time. They finally got there, "finished" unloading the truck, were paid for the 2nd day, and left. Upon unpacking, we noticed they used boxes in my youngest daughter's room to hide her dresser. They had beaten it up so bad the paint had come off. I had just painted it 2 weeks prior at the old house for her new room. What was worse than messing up the paint, they found a can of paint (at the new house so it didn't match) and "touched up" the places on the dresser, even painting the metal french provincial hardware. I immediately sent pictures and asked for someone to call me the very next morning. No one did. So, I called AGAIN. When I called to complain, they thought I was crazy until both Wright brothers came out and looked for themselves. The dresser was AWFUL. They agreed and said the mover got scared when he saw how bad it got beat up in the truck. They didn't have time the day before to wrap it. He told me they'd take care of it and for me to call them when I found the right paint. I left him a message when I found the paint a few days later to get it repainted and no returned call. Called the next week and was told it'd be another 2 weeks before they could send him out. I called his personal number back again and left another message. This time, he called....saying he never got my message although I showed him proof on my call log. He said he could be out in a couple of days. Finally he came out and get it repainted. After all of this, we have since found... A hidden, broken plastic bin in attic with broken keepsakes on attic floor. Tons of boxes/bins still in garage that were clearly written to which room they go. Boxes in wrong rooms because they carried 3-4 boxes at a time. Recently got our Christmas decorations down from the attic and they had stacked tons of heavy boxes on top of my ornament bins(clearly started attic and VERY FRAGILE on the bins) causing all of my Winnie the Pooh blown glass ornaments {that my grandparents gave me} from childhood to break. Needless to say, very disappointed.
