Do not rent from Public Storage. I would give this place negative stats if I could. My mother passed and I moved her stuff to storage until I was able to sort through it. Unfortunately, somebody broke into her storage unit and took most of her belongings. I also stored stuff her because I was only her to take care of my mom's estate. Everything I had was also stolen. I lost so much sentimental items that can not be replaced. The storage facility didn't even notify me right away. I found out it was broke into and the door left wide open for a whole week and they never filed a police report. I was out of town when the facility notified me that the unit was broken into and they informed me they could not secure my unit. Why did I pay for this unit for 8 months to have the majority of the contents stolen! read more

I was told that on weekdays I would have access from 6am to 6pm. I did not keep accurate records, if I had, I would have better grounds for legal recourse. However, there were several weekdays that I could not get access prior to 6pm. When I confronted the receptionists they denied this fact. These people are simply dishonest. I have done nothing to these people to warrant this kind of treatment. I can only conclude there is something evil and unreasonably hateful about these people. read more

On the author of what my options were. the process was very quick and painless, and the pricing was good about average to the other storage units around. there was some grimy people when I first got there. Easy rental experience from beginning to end-- I signed up online, had locks in my unit when I arrived, and was able to close out my unit on the app when I moved out. No need to go into the office or call at all. The facility was always clean and staff was attentive to my needs while I was there. The provided carts were super helpful when moving stuff in and out. I felt safe accessing my unit as a single female with my infant son. The only con I found is that the building with the units is closed after a certain time, but it's not difficult to work around once you know that. read more

One of the reasons why I picked this place was because it was literally up the street from me. I was able to rent the unit without ever coming into contact with anyone at the office and they sent me everything via email and the app. Even though the gate was unlocked when we arrived, the app offers me the option to just unlock the gate without ever touching the gate panel. The unit was exactly as described and even though they had said that they would leave it unlocked, the unit was locked but someone on site was able to open it up for us. All in all, the price is right after having paid 200.00 a month at another location and it being close to home is the best! read more

Made a reservation for a unit, online. Was quoted a price, but on arrival they said they were out of that one and it would now be $20 more a month. WHAT? I thought I had a reservation, but they gave it to someone who walked in off the street. WHY MAKE A RESERVATION!!!? The person was rude, and laughed that I was angry about the "bait and switch". I've been renting a unit here for just over a year an it is a constant mess. The security is a joke and the lighting inside the units is non existent. I finally learned my lesson after my unit was broken into and the response from the on site employee Nikki was nothing short of rude and completely unsympathetic. Added to that, about three months prior I was stuck in the elevator and pushed the alarm for help. It was July in Arizona which means 110 to 120 temps. No one came to help nor were there cameras in the elevator. After about 15 minutes I was able to pry the doors open and went I to the office soaked in sweat and pretty panicked. They stated that they didn't realize an alarm was being pushed. Turned out the alarm was connected to nothing!! There were no cameras in the elevator, and although There was supposed to be a working phone in the elevator it was not working. After the break in, I filed a police report and requested the video footage of the robbery. Nikki stated that they turned the footage to the police already but when I asked for the report number she refused to give it to me. (Note that I received a call from the district mgr later and his response was that he didn't know why she would not give me the report number and he would follow up with her, but I still have not received that information). To date I have not been offered any type of remuneration or refund. In fact, my storage rental fee was increased after the elevator instance although new customer rents were lower. I finally went back five days after the break in and moved to a PODS storage unit. And guess what, the "secured" gates and buildings were wide open. when I asked the office to secure them Nikki rudely told me that would inconvenience them because they had an auction that day and still had people picking up. By the way, the PODS unit I rented was just $7 more a month and it is kept much more secure. One more thing, the district manager was quick to blame the police rather than the property's own shoddy camera system for the multiple robberies that had gone unsolved there. I wonder how old and cheap that cameras are. read more

I recently sold my house and needed to find a storage unit for all my things. The day I went to rent the storage unit it was raining and there was heavy traffic on my way to the unit. Katie was nice enough to stay open until I got there and walked me to the unit in the rain while she almost froze to death. Mayte was very polite and prompt getting all the paper work together. The two of them made a good team and so far so good with the experience. After reading others reviews I am a little nervous about the location but renters insurance will cover anything if for some reason there is a break in. Keep you posted if my experiences changes. read more

This is the third time I complained about people living in the unit. Grant it they may be people down on their luck but it makes me feel uncomfortable and can't access my unit with someone a few doors down sitting barefoot eating cereal. I tried calling corporate and it's s joke the phone tree never gives you an option to contact anyone. Let's see if they respond to me. Each trip here takes me over and hour to drive and there is no way I'd work on my unit with some strange guy a few feet away in an isolated storage unit. Another note it's not temp controlled that well, as when I took some items out the last trip I had a bottle of shampoo explode in a box so the unit must have gotten hot at some time. Was welcomed when i entered the store Great staff, Kayla and Brad have the place looking very professional and clean from when we checked in back in April. The facility looks amazing, smells great and the security gate was working correctly. Kayla and Brad explained the closing out procedures and also reminded me that the locks could most likely be used again if I was to return to this store. It was a great 9 months, my belongings were dry and in the same shape I left them. Thank you to the staff and Brad and Kayla for making this a good experience. Since moving to Phoenix in the Summer of 2001, I've rented from three different self storage companies. The first was in Mesa and was not climate controlled. Imagine my surprise when, two months later, I move into my first apartment and find a nice surprise with all of my candles. Stupid. The second was climate controlled, close to where we used to live and was a great experience. So, this time around I knew what I needed and was able to execute a lease rather effectively. This weekend I picked up my bike and brought it home, but we don't want to park our bikes inside because they'll take up too much room. Our storage shed, meanwhile, had become filled to capacity with my power tools (yes, Robear. I do need two circular saw, a miter saw and a table saw, along with the Shop-Vac and hand saws.), Christmas decorations, bed frames, a box of photo frames, closet doors, planters and potting soil and a gas grill. Finding a method to reorganize was not a solution. Public Storage, now that's a viable solution. After looking at a couple of units, I settled on one that would fit nearly everything excessive from the shed plus a few bulky items that are taking up space inside the house. Currently, they are running a special with the first month's rent is $1 (but there is a one-time administration fee) and subsequent month's rents are reasonable. They generate an access code for you (picking my own would have been nice, but since I use the same basic code for everything this is actually better..you know, in case I'm abducted and they want my checking account PIN, voice mail passcode and storage access code altogether. You can't store corpses there; I asked. They also told me the units can't be lived in, so don't try that. This location is just around the corner from us, and while there isn't 24 hour access (the only downside), the 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. window should allow us to retrieve most anything we need, even last minute items. If i decide it's no longer needed, they will prorate the monthly rent if you give them enough notice. And since it's month-to-month, you don't feel obligated to commit yourself. [Another storage unit was contracted to 6 months, so I lost money on that one.] read more

This is by far the worst storage facility I've ever rented from, not to even mention the corporate side of things. In late December of 2014 the unit I had been renting for about a year was broken into, it was a 10' x 20' unit full of everything I own. They took everything, leaving broken glass and shattered remains of my life. When I came to realize this has happened I filed a police report and reached out to the facility. This is when a business should take action to make the customer feel as if they are being looked out for, this was not the case for me And PUBLIC STORAGE, the talked down to me as if I don't matter, they kept telling me to file a police report, make an insurance claim... I was not seeking counsel or advice from them, I was asking for a discount our a little credit to help me out financially till I could relocate what little was left in the unit. They answer back that credit or anything is against their policy and NO help can be given. Maybe I'm in the wrong but in my opinion they failed to provide a safe place to keep my personal belongings, and then treated me like I don't matter. So please consider this before you take your business to this corporation. Extra Space Storage will treat you like a human being and never screw you over like PUBLIC STORAGE did to me and many others. read more

Came here because of their internet-advertised "$1 pays first month's rent. If it sounds like it's too good to be true, it's because it is. Although I guess "$53.48 pays first month's rent" doesn't have the same appeal to it. The actual costs are more like $1 for rent, $18 for their lock they require you to purchase, $11 for their insurance they require you to purchase, and about $20 for an application fee. The unit itself was fine. Not anything to write home about (or on Yelp, as it were), but about what you'd expect at a relatively-inexpensive storage place. Another semi-annoying thing is that the office is open until 6pm. So if you are wanting to borrow carts to help move your stuff, those have to be returned by 6pm. Access to the units remains open until 9pm. The bait-and-switch pricing was very annoying though and I certainly would look elsewhere before coming back here. read more

Moved out and left an empty small unit on 07/06/2020 and received an email confirmation of my move out. Fast forward to 08/06/2020, received a weird email stating that I needed a lock on my unit to secure it. 08/07/2020 received an email that I had been billed for the month of August. Went down there in person and was told it was my fault for leaving stuff in there but they couldn't give me a straight answer about the unit having no lock. They also told me flat out "We don't make mistakes" I would never rent from public storage again. read more

Having had to use several storage facilities over the last three years I can say I am a fan of this location. The staff have always been supremely friendly and helpful, even when I fell behind on payments. The unit I have is in a climate controlled building so I never have to worry about the extreme Arizona heat destroying my property. And with two electronically controlled entrances plus the requirement of an extra secure lock on my unit, I feel safe storing my property here. 4 stars instead of 5... only because the location is a little hard to access given the proximity to the light rail. Not their fault, but still. I would recommend storing here. read more

The one star is for a change of gate hours. I scheduled a moving company (who charges by the hour) for 8am. When I showed up, there was a sign taped to the gate that said something along the lines of "gate will only be open during office hours," which started at 930. Hours were changed without any advanced notice and it left me screwed with my moving company waiting. Aside from that, this neighborhood is rough and there have been sketchy folks every single time I've been there. I don't feel comfortable sending my wife there alone. I highly recommend finding a different place to store your stuff. I'll update this post if something changes. read more

This property is convenient in that it is right off a main route. However, it is becoming inconvenient with the increases in rent and decreases in accessibility. I am sure that there are many customers who don't mind that they can only access their units between the hours of 9 am and 6 pm. Unfortunately, most people also work those exact same hours and may need to get to their unit in the evening. If that is the case, you are out of luck. With all the storage places that are going up in the area, there needs to be better hours if prices go up. read more

While I was loading in my unit, I saw Connie out there sweeping the grounds which is pretty significant. I am hopeful for a good experience while utilizing this facility! So far, so good! read more
