Public storage management is very poor. Tonight I tried to exit my facility…read moreand the gate would not open. The customer service person had no one to call. We had to call the fire department or we would have been locked inside all night long. Other problems I had in the past required at least three calls each time to get things resolved. One problem is the person you get on the phone has no authority to handle it. It has to be passed onto a manager who often does nothing. Recommend you use another company if possible.

They've done nothing but raise my rent since they took over Neighborhood Storage. They lure you in with promotional deals & treat you badly there after. There is another Public Storage about 5 minutes away and they are leasing the same size unit for $48 "locked in". I'd move, but with it being the same crappy company I'm sure they would double or triple the rate every couple of months also. So BEWARE. This company will lie to get you to move your things in and will then rape you for money repeatedly! And there is NO CHANCE of reaching a live person. Find another facility and make them out in your rental contract that it is locked in and rent from a facility that has an actual person working there.

In August 2022, I showed up to pay my bill, only to find the office abandoned, and a new sign. I did not like the fact that there was no notice, but I took down the number to call and made my payment. I continued to make a total of 7 payments, each time speaking with a live person. When I made my payment this March, 2023, I was immediately met with a text, advising me that my access to my unit was blocked, because suddenly, they don't know me. Never at any time was my identity in question the whole time they've been accepting my payments. I never signed an agreement, in fact it was 4 months before they called to inform me that they were now owners of the facility. Otter has no manned facilities, therefore, nowhere to confirm my identity. They "say" that this is their rule, but I never received any rules, and reading their terms online, I see no such statement that allows them to deny access to a customer who has paid their monthly rent. And by the way, they hijacked the previous owners glowing reviews, and are claiming them as their own. Edit: This is for the Ocala location. It is showing that I am in Sorrento, that is incorrect.
