This location is very convenient for me, just a five minute drive from home and they have their own private parking lot. It's simply a matter of general confusion, poor communication and misinformation on the part of the business. The location of this property is convenient and relatively clean in comparison to the other PS properties in the surrounding areas though. On a separate visit to the property, another employee refused to make a copy (insisting she didn't know how to make copies) for an elderly man who pays for his unit by check and there was a big scene between them. I attempted to help the young woman with the copy machine and suddenly she made the copy just fine on her own and did not need assistance. When you're on their property, these are the kind of things you can expect - attitude and resistance to be helpful. read more

Don't be fooled by the convenience factor: this is one of the worst self-storage businesses in Dade. The monthly rate is not guaranteed for a typical year - plan to have it increase EVERY 90 DAYS! I thought it was a mistake, but they assured me that they increase rent based on demand. You cannot budget with the quoted price. Perhaps more disturbing, the storage facility struggles with humidity, moisture and AC breakdowns. Have you ever been in a flat-roofed warehouse in summer? Your valuables are about to be if you contract here. The final straw was the management failure to address , remedy or even give a flying F about an ongoing leak into my storage locker ( #2084) from the locker above. I have reported twice that an oily substance has been leaking into my storage. I have now learned that all my ski stuff and expensive luggage have been damaged. read more

Public storage raise the rates every year by 35 %. That's high % rate, you can't do anything but write a review.

Clean facility, great temperature control, responsive staff. I rented one of their small storage units, which they call a "locker". These are the more inexpensive units probably because of the location the unit is inside their warehouse. You'll need one of their many rolling ladders (like ones you see at Home Depot when employees have to get something from the top shelf) to get to your unit. But for the price, it's perfect for me and my purposes. As far as the cost, they say you can bring your own lock and not get charged a lock fee, but that's more for the larger garage type units. The locks on these are specific key locks. So you would have to find one that fits these but will probably spend more time and money searching for one. And they also require storage insurance so that's another fee. But it's still a good price overall for me due to the location and ease of renting. The way you access inside is through an app, which is fine if you have a phone which most people do anyway. Just don't forget your phone. But there's probably a way in if you do, I just never needed to find out. Overall a clean, well kept, and secure storage facility in the middle of a small area. Glad it's there and glad I found it and had an affordable small unit. read more

My mover was running behind and the staff stayed open a few extra minutes to let me finish unloading my items (wasn't that much to unload, but I arrived like 10min before closing). My first storage unit ever , I don't really know good prices but for the fact everything has been safe without a hiccup it's a good unit! Everything is clean and quiet and not too busy with people, the rolling carts and everything make going seamless u even feel safe going alone . This is my first experience using a storage unit while downsizing to an apartment - I used the online rental tool and have no complaints! Everything was clear including instructions regarding using your rental. My experience with this business went as I expected until today. I didn't expect the red carpet, nor did I receive it - fair enough. Today, I got this in the mail: rent increased from $100 to $178. I didn't have an intro rate or any other arrangement that would explain the 78% increase. It's gross. It was obviously a cold calculation similar to payday lending. I'm out. I've moved so much in the last three years I feel like I just need to leave it all in boxes. Not little moves, but big moves. Cross country type hellacious moves. So the thought of getting a storage unit to store some of my crap seemed like a gleaming star in the move idea. Less crap to deal with. Just drop it off and be done. Weeeellll....I called this place because it was the closest and cheapest location - 5x5 unit for $49 a month with 1st month for $1? SOLD!!! I made my reservation online and got a call a few minutes later letting me know that the rate I was quoted was for an upstairs unit. Conversation: Me: 'As in an upper story? PS: No, as in you need a ladder Me: Yeah. That won't due. I need to store a washer for a few months PS: Oh. We have another location. I can transfer your reservation there. Me: Sweet thanks! Transfer of reservation complete, easiest thing ever. Until I get a confirmation email from the other place letting me know that the rate was $20 a month more and there was no $1 first month because 'I did not make that particular reservation online'. Really? Yeah. Really. Buyer beware at Public storage. I know people who have had good experiences at other locations in the nation, but this is really ridiculous. How nice of them to transfer me to another place only to try to screw me backwards. Moving is full of too much crap to deal with conniving businesses like this. read more

So when I signed up, my unit was $20/month, and I was happy. Several months later, they sent me a notice saying rent was being raised to $24/month. I was irked but I paid it. The quality of the place has gone WAY downhill over the past few times I've visited. It used to be clean, now it is disgusting. Now, I received a notice stating that my rent is going up to $28/month. Did I mention this unit is the size of a horizontal closet? This place is a scam. I'd rather find a place in the hood that's cheap but honest. There will probably be LESS transient people there as well and hopefully the hours will be better! read more

I don't usually use storage facilities, but the few I've been to other than public storage has showed me much more customer service and proper professional etiquette. The workers at this Public Storage had very little care and effort into helping me find what I needed. They tried to upsale into a bigger unit when they saw our stuff they said it wouldn't fit. I've been a Public Storage customer for over 10 years. 7 years ago I moved and opened an account and unit at the 1301 Dade Blvd. location. The customer service I have received is excellent. The lady I just spoke on the phone with Sunday at 2:05 pm was rude and sarcastic. Every time I asked a question she would answer with, "um I'm getting to that" I than asked her about possibly renting a truck and she answered back the same way. She than must have forgot the question I asked and said she already answered that when she spoke nothing about a truck. I'm not even a customer yet and she just ran me out. It's a shame because I had a family member get a storage unit and the guys in the front were very friendly and helpful. Not AC controlled!!!! But it was late to look for another one so we had to take it. Uneven floors which makes it even more difficult to navigate with small carts that they have. Not to mention, we had random stuff in our unit when we got it and they said they knew it and that we can leave it out and then they will get rid off it. If they knew it why not do it before renting the unit???? When we came there to get the storage we were told we have to buy their special locks which were 20$ something. First time i see that.. nobody mentioned that online.. and our unit had a big pole in the middle so it is not really 5x10.....! Do not go here. Very sneaky and unreliable... read more

First of all, Tony and his team are amazing. I have never used a storage space before because I like to hoard everything at my house. But now I need the space... Tony literally just lifted a huge weight off my back, that I didn't even know I had. In 15 minutes he showed me the unit space, I signed the paperwork ... And I originally wanted to be in and out... But they are so fun here... They made me fresh coffee and we talked about how I could save even more money next month. They literally treat you like they've known you forever...
