I am currently using Public Storage, but my experience has become increasingly frustrating. I…read morerecently called customer service regarding another rate increase and spent a long time waiting on hold and being transferred before finally speaking with someone. My main concern is the pricing. My unit started in the mid to high $70 range, and after the second increase within the same year, my monthly rate is now close to $156, nearly double what I originally agreed to. I was given a vague explanation about "market availability," which does not feel like a reasonable or transparent justification for such a significant jump. What's most disappointing is the lack of consideration for customers who are already dealing with inflation and minimal wage increases. Raising rates repeatedly without clear reasoning leaves a bad impression and makes it hard to feel valued as a long term customer. While the storage itself is functional, the pricing practices and customer service experience have left a very sour taste.

Went to go to my unit and both elevators were not working. A wasted time as I was unable to get in…read more No one answered to explain the situation. Had to make numerous calls to the central number and referred to different departments. Again, no explanation. Finally after much insistence, they finally took the information and said it would be 72 hours before it would be repaired. The in house manager didn't answer as well. I mean what happened to customer service and elevator maintenance ? Imagine if you are moving and can't gain access to your unit. . Obtw the stairs were locked.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! THEY WILL AUCTION OFF YOUR UNIT WITHOUT EVEN NOTIFYING YOU!!!!…read more I rented a unit at Public Storage on 10460 SW 72nd Street in May, 2021. I paid the monthly fees and insurance for 5 years. Every six months to a year, they raise the price to the point that by end of 2025, I was paying about $400.00 for the smallest unit when initially my contract stated and I paid less than $200.00 a month including the insurance. Not only that but when I forgot to make the January 1, 2026 payment, they sent me a reminder and I paid it on January 21, 2026, including the past due payment, late charges of $157.00, $50.00 for a lien fee, for a total payment made of $515.55. The payment receipt stated that the past due payments and all fees were paid on January 21, 2026 which brought the account current and stated that the next amount was due February 1 2026. On January 30, 2026, 9 days later they auctioned off my unit and I lost all of my children's keepsakes since birth among many valuables. I have the email that I paid the past due amount and my next payment was not due until February 1, 2026. THEY DID NOT EVEN NOTIFY ME THAT THE UNIT WAS BEING AUCTIONED OFF, BY PHONE, EMAIL OR IN ANYWAY WHATSOEVER. I FOUND OUT BECAUSE WHEN I WENT TO MAKE THE PAYMENT ONLINE, I DID NOT HAVE ACCESS TO MY ACCOUNT AND CONTACTED THE FACILITY AND WAS TOLD BY DAVID THAT MY UNIT HAD BEEN AUCTIONED OFF ON JANUARY 30, 2026. ON THAT SAME DAY, JANUARY 30, 2026, THEY SEND ME AN EMAIL ADVISING THAT THEY HAD INFORMATION THAT MY UNIT WAS UNLOCKED OR IMPROPERLY LOCKED WHEN THEY KNEW IT WAS THEM THAT OPENED THE UNIT BY CUTTING THE LOCK ON THE UNIT.

From 11/2024 to 07/2025 my storage fees more than doubled. pretty horrific way of doing business…read more you lure people in with attractive prices. the people go through a monumental effort moving everything. Then after a few months you go ahead and double the fee. Never storing with Public Storage ever again.
