I have been a good customer for 2 years always paid my rent early and rarely go into the facility. Public Storage one day out of the blue my rent had been increased I requested a reason why no answer! They wont work with me and I feel like they got the upper hand because they will just lock my storage unit if I dont pay the increase. I have a large unit full and unable to move my household to another facility. I think the hours they only allow you access at the facility is not right either. I work late and occasionally need access but they lock everything down at 8:00pm. They can and do increase your rent whenever they feel like it!!! read more

Warning: Current management is awful. I was renting a large unit at a great price until they decided they wanted to kick me out for being at my unit for longer than 30 minutes so they can sell my unit for full price. This month they kicked out atleast 5 people who had discounted units. Several people including myself scrambled to get everything out by end of month only to have this manager block the exit at the end of the night and have her boyfriend call women "bitches" simply because they wanted to leave the facility. Mesa police needed to be called out to rectify the situation. This current on site manager is lazy, impersonal and downright rude. They cut off our power months ago with no explanation and no solution to fix it. Stay far far away from this location, I implore you. read more

First of all, I need to point out the positive; Berenice, the manager is friendly, professional and cordial. We made our reservations online and physically went to the office where we met Berenice and finalized arrangements for two storage units, one climate controlled, the other outside that we planned to move in to in another week. This was a positive experience. Fast forward to the next week when we brought a pickup load of stuff to move into our unit only to find out that we did not have any units reserved and there were none available. The lady (won't mention any names) was apologetic but confirmed we did not have a reservations and no units were available. She made some calls to find out what happened and after 45 or so minutes found the actual paperwork sitting in an apparent pending file. We were supposed to get a discount according to the online reservation but were informed that we no longer qualified for a discount. She finally found that they indeed did have two units available so we went to see them only to find out that the outside reservation was a more expensive climate controlled unit. I took it anyway as I had already signed a contract and didn't want to risk losing a unit. I did call the regional manager's office to let them know of a glitch in their reservation system but received no assistance. It may have just been a bad day however; it was not a positive experience and I would not recommend them as I felt there was an element of dishonesty in honoring our online reservation and the disclosed discount. read more

Horrible horrible store! They auctioned my belongings only 2 months behind as I lost my job. I want my grandma and brother belongings as they both are no longer here. I am checking out my rights and having my grandfather get his lawyer involved. No notification, no explanation just everything gone and I will never get those memories back. My friend who's out of state needed me to get into his unit but sent me the wrong key. Cinnamon was extremely helpful and friendly to both of us. She came down to the unit to try and unlock the unit herself and when she also determined it was the wrong key she let us both know what our options are for getting the lock drilled. The people that work there were very nice and very professional. The pricing with the $1 for the first month's rent was a very good deal. Forcing you to buy a unique style lock that only fits their storage units seemed a little hokey. Make sure that you store lots of cheese in your unit, this may help Focus the attention of the mice to the cheese, rather than your mattresses and boxes. An update to last week's post. I did hear back from the district manager who had been on vacation since our last phone call. Public Storage took responsibility for what happened. Apologies were offered. I was compensated for my lost time. I am a much happier customer now, thus the new 4 star rating. Businesses are made of people, and people make mistakes. Things are going to go wrong. My only requirement for continued business with anyone is that they take responsibility and try to fix it. When I went online to search for a safe, fairly close but inexpensive storage unit, I found Public Storage here on Main St. was the BEST choice overall. After taking to Berenice, she gave a tour of my unit I reserved and was extremely pleased in her demeanor and her professionalism in dealing with my needs of storage. The unit was dry, VERY clean and very secure. After breezing through the paperwork and receiving my keys she told me all about the security and the codes. Sandie the other co-worker there was extremely helpful in filling in any answers to questions I asked about the storage facility. Both ladies made my experience painless and very affordable. I just rented a unit here and the manager was awesome, Cinnamon reviewed all the information, making it easy to get storage. She was very knowledgeable and also made sure my gate code was working and that I had all information needed to bring my belongings back to store them. The call center that takes the reservations does not, I repeat DOES NOT give accurate and true information. Although courteous but very rushed and false information as far as how the $1 special works. I specifically asked what my out of pocket cost will be today when I go in person to rent. My 10x8 unit was $100 per month. The special is $1 first month. I was told of $24 one time admin fee. I was told my total out of pocket would be $24 plus $1. I then asked if there were any other charges, I was told renters insurance fee but they could not give me a price that I needed to talk to the facility for that quote. I said ok. I was told I would get a call from them shortly after we hang up. I hadn't hung up with the booking agent yet and my other line was ringing. I hung up and had already missed their call. I called back and got the facility manager on the line. I asked her about the renters insurance she did not want to give me any prices on it because there were 3 options and that when I come in they will go over it with me. I politely explained that I do not want to waste your time or mine and wanted the info and to verify the booking agents info I was told. In fact, the agent basically lied to me after asking specifically what my out of pocket expense would be today. He said a the $24 plus $1. That's it. And the renters insurance. I dont have time to write reviews or call around just to be given false info. It's places like this that make me have to write a review. Tired of the run around false information!! They may have a nice facility but I'm not willing to go down to find out after being told false info!! read more

They tell you your required to have insurance on it and that you can "convienently" purchase their insurance while setting up your rental, however, if you actually read your contract, you are not required to have insurance. If they need in to your property, they will cut your lock (that your required to buy) and then not replace the cost in anyway and call you incessantly until your replace your own lock that they ruined. They also tell you that your required to use a cylindar lock and offer to sell you one if theirs, but again, your contract doesn't say that kind is required. They will not offer any solutions when a problem arises, instead, continually refer you to their district manager claiming they can't do anything. I rented my unit because it was a decent price, bear my home, and I liked the $1 move in offer. I walked out paying much more than $1 and within two months my unit price went up by $12 a month. read more

First, you have to crawl through extensive road construction to even get to the place. Today I moved out. The unit we rented had NO light fixture and had 3 doors (believe it or not). I saw a couple renting a new unit, Since the unit I was leaving had 3 doors, and I had been made to purchase 3 of their specialized locks, I offered one of the locks to the people moving in. One of the employees stepped up and rudely told me the company could not do that. I explained that I was not the company and that I was not selling anything. It was a gift, since I had 3 useless (expensive locks) I could not use elsewhere. All 3 had the 3 original keys with it. She insisted that I she had to deter me from making that gift. I felt sorry for the couple, I felt bad for being treated so rudely and was GLAD TO GET OUT OF THAT PLACE. (I moved my things to a brand new U-Haul, into a bigger unit for LESS MONEY.) read more
