Minneapolis moving services are some of the most expensive anywhere I've experienced. I hope that simply means that MN companies pay their labor well. We paid $1365 + $180 tip (optional, but come on) for a 3-man crew at $260/hr (2-hour minimum), and we obviously also provided snacks and drinks (they declined breakfast). For comparison, in San Francisco it was $250/hr for 5 men. The rate was with both the weekday discount and winter pricing. Weekend would have been $285/hr for 3 men, and $345 for 4 men. There was no trip fee. Robert, in particular was incredible; he moved a 6 drawer dresser down a tight stairwell alone. They needed to remove the front door at one point, but did so without issue. They also were happy to use our own furniture pads and plastic wrap (leftover from a cross-country move). At one point, they had to back the huge truck through the alley on icy ground, and had no problems. Also, it was easy to provide them inventory by email, and easy to reach them by phone. Lots of moving companies were annoying to contact, which is partly why we chose this one. One a few minor issues: one piece of furniture was shedding pieces of wood. I think they were reinforcements put on by previous owners. I didn't even know they were there, and it doesn't seem to have affected the furniture. They also forgot a couple of items in the yard, including a big smoker we had to move on our own. It's partly my fault, I told them we were good to go. Also, we were made to sign a lot of paperwork, and at various points it was for things like "you confirm that nothing is broken and everything has arrived" and, like, it's weeks later and I'm still unpacking, there is no way I would have known for sure. It's fine, because so far we have had no issues, but if someone did have issues it might feel like being strong-armed via contract. The guys in the truck were just doing their jobs, so it's the process that is problematic more than anything. We would use these guys again!

Donated everything to Salvation Army St Paul. Husband became extremely ill eleven years ago. We are in a lovely FL. condo he inherited. MISS Minnesota... people, culture, weather - - LOVE the cold!!!! I now have two brand newly built extra large units at Forest Lake - - grabbed them quickly for they rented out super fast. Great price. New wood pallets on entire floor. Never have water in these units, very high airy ceilings with great ventilation. Yes no heat no air conditioning so no fragile furniture, vinyl, wood, etc, but I put clothing etc in tight giant contractor extra thick plastic bags into tight big Costco ( yellow black) plastic storage boxes ( the Best/ shut very tight). I will be out of a second 30 ft unit at public storage after 1-2 more four week trips. Back breaking work - - am creating a new industry of folk buying my things at Salvation Army then flipping them online! We always expected to be in Mn but the condo's living costs are better than renting today. Goal is to find a solid 1 bedroom in MN, build out to be able to remain until I pass on, rent out FL condo. Reverend Jim the manager is the best, the kindest man you could ever ever find and work with. No bugs no rodents all these years. Immaculate rest room at office, safe secure, no crazies renting ' next door'. Women working there solo feel 100 % safe. High fence with barbed wire surround the large rural country property. Nice relaxing 30 minute drive up from the twin cities. Highly highly highly recommend!!

We can't say enough good about Tim and the Forest Lake Mini Storage. So very helpful and easy to…read morework with. We moved from out of state, went to the old standby on the north side of town. It was dirty, full of feathers, bird poop, spiders and stunk like motor oil. The door came off the hinges and they had limited access hours. We needed an additional storage unit and found Tim at FL Mini Storage to be super helpful. We ended up liking it so much we talked to Tim about getting a bigger unit. He came through and we moved all our belongings from the other storage facility. Tim was terrific to work with and the units are clean, secure and they offer 24-hour access. We always feel safe, and we appreciated the location is easy to get to. If you need storage for the short, or long term, we highly recommend FL Mini Storage.

Entered in through security gate, pulled up outside entered another code into the building. Dollies and moving carts available for use. For what we needed, this place delivered. My only suggestion would be to add on line payment options, but not a huge biggie.

BURGLARY PROBLEMS!!! In January, my storage unit was the FOURTH break-in within a one month…read moreperiod. Yes, FOUR burglaries in ONE month. All the burglarized units are located in the building in the very back of the facility. I made a report with the Maplewood Police and the officer mentioned the other units that had been burglarized also. The owners of Acorn storage did not put any video cameras INSIDE this particular building. All they have is cameras outside that building. Therefore the thieves can break in to as many units as they want and they know they won't be caught in the act on camera. The policeman said thieves are well aware which areas don't have cameras-- and those are the units that are targeted. So disregard all the website marketing that says Acorn is a safe place for your belongings since they have cameras. A camera pointed outside the facility is useless. Acorn also says your things are safe because every person that enters the facility must punch in their own identifying code. Well that did not stop these thieves from stealing from FOUR units. Even though there is a clear record of the suspects punching in their codes after hours, there is no video of them breaking into any of the units (Because there are NO cameras inside this building), so the code punching is useless. The thieves punched in after hours, and then had all the time in the world to go through every single tub, bin and box looking for things to steal. They ransacked my unit. Anything they didn't want, they threw haphazardly back into the unit. There are piles of my academic papers, drawings and notes tossed from the bins on to the floor. It will cost me a few hundred dollars to fly back to MN, get a hotel and car, to clean up this mess. All because Acorn doesn't have cameras inside that building. My advice is, find another storage facility that cares enough about your belongings to put cameras inside the building.

He said he'd hold onto a unit for us but I said we are still deciding whether we wanted a storage unit or to use a cube type service. I hung up and immediately received a text message thanking me for my reservation. It seemed odd to me that they collected all my information before they would tell me anything as far as pricing, which was pretty high. I called to be sure this reservation was canceled because it never should've been made in the first place and I encountered another fairly aggressive sales person on the phone who stated it must've been a misunderstanding. That's not true it's just very high pressure sales and it's not appreciated. Their storage facility may be just wonderful but their sales tactics are not appreciated at all.
