Our existing storage place is wet. We weren't in another space and are moving the items. I think that there should be some kind of compensation. You get a storage place that you can keep your stuff. While moving it to another storage unit, we realize that old unit is wet. read more

Technology is fine - easy to get in/out, but canceling is a nightmare. 1) Got a call from the property manager when I disabled autopay about 3 weeks prior to moving out (so she KNEW we were leaving) 2) Cleared the storage unit, sweep it, removed the lock 3) Tried to inform the property manager but she was not in her office; 2 phone calls rang to voice mail 4) Tried calling corporate - they would take NO action unless I could provide the hour and minute I last accessed the unit. Are you fricking kidding me? Who records I last entered the unit at 1:13 pm... Do NOT use the Roseville location. read more

On lordy. I rented at a Public Storage in a different city almost a decade ago & had a fine experience, but my attempt to learn more about renting at this location just turned me off of Public Storage permanently. So I called what *appeared* to be a local number off their website (not the 866 number listed on Yelp), and the person who answered the phone SAID he was at this address--although he clearly sounded like he was in a call center. He made sure to get a phone number out of me right off the bat ("in case we get disconnected"--no, to put my info in your database), then proceeded to drag me through his whole sales pitch like I've never rented a storage unit before. I finally managed to break in and say, "First thing's first: I need to know if I can park an unattached 28' trailer here for two days." (I'm moving long-distance, & if my freight company can't drop the trailer for a partial unload, then this isn't the right storage facility for me.) The guy said, "That's a property-specific question. I'd have to have the property call you." Ok, fine...er, wait: Isn't he supposedly *at* the property? I then asked what the difference is between a "medium" outside, drive up, 10x10 unit ($88) and a "large" outside, drive up, 10x15 unit ($82), and why the larger one is less expensive. The guy said, "That's a property-specific question. I can't answer that" ...& tried to drag me back into his sales pitch. "About how many pieces of furniture--" // No, you are not wasting my time talking me through a decision process I have already made repeatedly over the last 12 years: I have a 10x10 now, and I need a 10x10 in my new city--though I'll also take the extra space in a 10x15, once I understand what the difference is that warrants a $6/mo discount. Anyway, when I interjected to ask how I can call "the property" to get my questions answered, the guy told me I can't. I can't call them, and he supposedly "can't" ask them to call me. He insists they only call people who have reserved units. I asked, "How do I know if I want to rent here without knowing whether I can park the trailer? And how do I know which unit I want to reserve if I don't know what the difference is between them?" I mean, these are some pretty basic questions. And with that, the guy told me that he was "just an employee" and that "that's where my duty to help you as a person ends." Wow. The Twin Cities are apparently crawling with storage spaces that are a lot cheaper than where I live now--so I'm scratching Public Storage off my list and calling the next one. The people on-site may be perfectly reasonable, but I'm not going to risk it without being able to talk to them first. read more

The property manager changed, the new one gave me his number on the back of a card with unit # and passcode. NEVER did he EVER answer it, nor was there any voice mail. I kept getting texts, and emails about having liens put on my storage when they were in fact paid and had to call several times about this! Not once did I EVER get to speak with someone at the office where my storage was located. I have never been able to leave a message. I am not sure what happened to the former property manager, but I was always able to leave a message and she returned my calls promptly. I have my opinions about the rates, but I haven't done any comparison and I am sure that it is expensive no matter what. Just not happy being able to contact someone, or not sure if they are on the property and don't want to drive there if they aren't! read more

5 starts are from people who are currently renting and they were probably asked to do such a thing. I was asked. One day I went to the office and the manager, started talking about how the company doesn't like it when I fix anything over there and how I'm violating the contracts. I said sorry and he the same guy months ago that told me I can fix what ever as long as I'm not making a mess. After Saying all that he asked me to leave a review and I said yeah. And with a nice review. They left me alone for about a month. And now each time I come in the manager has to track me down and physically get himself in my garage to try and see if I am just reading or fixing stuff. He just has to see and he is willing to climb over or roll under any obstacle that could prevent him from see what I am doing. 1 star is what you should get. There's is no way you can get water or if you had to use the restroom, there's none. They don't even have a trash bin. A lot of people are really stuck to think about it. Money people have their whole storage filled up. And if you want to move, you're going to have to pay to get a garbage truck. They don't care read more

Horrible customer service. Latest issue: They gave me a $72 late fee for a $136 bill because auto-pay wasn't set up right. Though I paid it immediately upon notification, they refused to do anything about it. I will never use public storage again and strongly advise anyone else considering them to avoid them like the plague. It's well worth a couple extra dollars to go elsewhere. read more

I would like to update my review regarding public storage. I was a resident there over 15 years when I ended my stay there i became aware that my locker had been broken into with no appearance of a break in. Residents were made to use the locks they provided. The facility became very dirty and the staff became about as friendly as lip cancer before Mark an employee died. After Marks passing is when it became a place that no one should want to put any of there belongings. Public Storage located at 55 county Rd B in little Canada Mn. The staff's attitude about my loss was not even a I'm sorry this happened to you. It was oh well to bad this was from the 1-800 number the district manager who was on site when I was waiting for the police and also the rest of the onsite staff. Stay away from this place! They nickel and dime you every chance they get. Charged $25 for a padlock that's worth about $2. They insist you buy insurance for $11 a month which is as much as $30,000 worth of renter's insurance on my 3 bedroom townhouse costs. They raise the rent by $10 a month about every 5 months. Scheduled a move out date that was prior to the end of the month assuming they would pro-rate that month and we would settle up when the unit was vacated. They do not pro-rate. If you move out on the 6th of the month they charge you for an entire month. I guarantee you they have no problem renting that unit again before the end of the month and doubling the money they make on it. I canceled the auto pay since it should be pro-rated and they charged me a late fee of $20.20. Highway robbery! They called me several times asking for money, leaving voicemails that there was "an extremely urgent matter" regarding the unit and sent emails stating that it would soon go up for auction - after the payment was 10 days late. Absolutely ridiculous. Avoid this place at all costs! read more

First off my review is for those who ran this place back in 2005. It's not a review for what's going on there more recently. With that said, my experience there was like dealing with crooks in a back alley. Owners made promises never kept. Very high prices and pushy for rent even before due date. Even threatened to cut my locker on at least 2 occasions. I rented a very small closet space paid $119.00 back then. Ridiculous, hopefully it's changed these days. After only around 4-6 months, I packed up and left and got another storage facility without the hassle and harassment. The new one is much more customer friendly, laid back, and cheaper. read more

OK - its a rental storage operation where the help is competent, but certainly didn't see any 'wow' factor during the times I've been there. The 2 stars are for the business practices. 1) With a truck full of stuff, I found out I couldn't use my own lock, had to purchase theirs. When pressed, the clerk admitted locks are an additional profit center. 2) After 9 months of rental, and paying my bill automatically on time every, my rates were raised 20%, nearly $400 more per year. When questioned, the clerk regurgitated the line he was taught. Higher property taxes, administrative costs, etc. Pretty sure he hadn't gotten a 20% pay increase. read more
