The units here are terribly run, they kept raising the price of the storage units shortly after moving in and charging an absurd price for 5x5 unit that had no improvement in the location. If you want your stuff covered with rodent's poops that could potentially make you ill then go ahead and rent these storage units.

They were able to get me a great quote with a good moving deal that was available online, and the facility itself is very easy to navigate, spacious, with an accessible elevator, carts to help move, and they've been great in offering my alternative spaces to rent that may suit my needs. It's an overall affordable and clean environment where I can safely store my valuables and feel confident that my things are safe and secure. With security also being good with constant video surveillance, I feel comfortable, especially with the added security in not being able to access other floors without a personal space on that level. I have a spot on the third level and I can't even tell that it is because of how accessible everything is. I would recommend this facility to anyone and especially give a positive word on behalf of their great customer service and prompt communication regarding my questions and needs. Thank you

My sister recommended this place. I needed a place to move to asap that gave me access until as…read morelate as possible. I had to move out of my old apt because my landlord needed his unit back and paid me for movers and storage. At first, this place seemed awesome! Great location. But as time went by... even though I paid on time (auto pay), my code kept saying "see manager." The first time, he said something about my ID. I went and gave him my ID even though I already finished the process online. THEN... as months kept going by... same issue: "see manager"... what is going on?! How am I NOT able to access my belongings in the space I've been paying for?! Then I found out they can compensate for the trouble and offer a credit or something. So I called the office. THEY said they won't do it because I should've told them each time it happened. What?! They said they gave me a new code and then the same thing kept happening! I just went with my sister whenever she went to get access to the unit! THEN... they said they had locked me in on the rate I had but I got an email saying that they were raising it and then another email saying to disregard... but SUDDENLY, I got charged for $270 for my unit almost $100 more and the place isn't even temperature controlled like advertised! It was hot inside and muggy! Don't rent on the 3rd floor! Next, I had to move my stuff out of my sister's and needed more space and since my stuff was there already, I found a deal and got a smaller unit. They were trying to charge me extra for a transfer? No! I just needed another new unit! So I got a deal for 2 months like it advertised online... except... it pro rated the first month deal and that means I don't get exactly 2 months discount deal, I get whatever is left of the current month! That's shady! But I was desperate so I took it! They charged me the extra lock for overpriced amount and I went in to let the staff know I had my own lock. She told me to come the day I'm supposed to move in and show the manager and he'll refund me the amount. So I came today, 9/11/26 (I know) & no one was in the office! I had movers charging by the hour, babysitting my stuff while waiting for someone in the office to PICK UP! The operator said the manager's lunch hour starts at 1:30. So I ran to the office and it said "Be back at 9:30" but there's another smaller sign that said "CLOSED today!" I called again and the operator said there's NO record on file that it was supposed to be closed. So another lady pulls up and she called the hotline too. We're both standing in the hot sun trying to reach someone and I got movers waiting for me to get the lock opened off my unit I PAID for! I had to move my stuff to someone else's unit temporarily (THANK GOD, they let me!) and come back the next day! I called to see if someone would be there tomorrow (Saturday) and they said they cannot guarantee! To call 9:30am before driving there! This is ridiculous! I'm looking up the owners to send them a message. I'd like some form of refund or credit or compensation for the distress and the days I haven't been able to access my unit, please! Don't come here unless it's the cheapest option you can ever find! If my back wasn't hurting & I can afford movers and a truck again... I'd move everything out and somewhere else!

Upon coming here, there was a lot of room for desire. Though, I have seen some improvements following John Romero's management. Room for desire- While I haven't had many issues in my storage units, I have definitely witnessed several leaks in the halls during the rainy season. And I would really like for their hours to start earlier and or go later on certain days. Due to work, I can only get in IF I leave work early. Other than that, I'm left to weekends which makes it tough when moving things in /out, which I do, fairly regularly. Last but not least, there were break-ins in the past but I think their vigilance with their cameras have made a difference. There are cameras at all entries / exits as well as in the hallways, abound. Notable- Mariana is one of the leads that I primarily look to for both information and support. She knows the facility well, understand's how things work, is incredibly patient, responsive, and kind. Her customer service is outstanding. If I was you, I'd ask for her when I call. Mariana is one of the primary reasons my partner and I have decided to continue going to Signal Hill Storage in 2024.

We have been storing our travel trailer here for a year now. We find the place to be well managed, clean, and secure. We have also found the manager to be helpful, but she runs a tight ship; and I appreciate that. I do wish the hours of access were broader, sometimes we'd like to pick up or drop off outside the 8-6 window. We were given only 1 gate card, would be nice if both spouses could have one. Spaces aren't wide enough to open any slides, but wide enough to manage backing a trailer with a pickup. Site is level. There is a dump station on site, but new haven't needed to use it yet since we always dump before hitting the road. We are very glad to have a spot here.

I would not recommend this storage facility…read more The first issue is the misleading information regarding access hours. We specifically called the night before to confirm that we would be able to access our unit at 6:00 AM because we needed to retrieve an important item before heading to the airport. We were assured that there would be no problem. The next morning, when we arrived at 6:45 AM, access was denied and we were unable to get our belongings. Being locked out of your storage unit right before a flight is incredibly stressful and unacceptable. The second major issue is the constant rent increases. After only a few months, our rate was increased by approximately $40. Then, after being loyal customers for over two years, we were hit with another increase of nearly $120 per month. These price hikes feel excessive and unfair, especially considering there were no noticeable improvements to the facility or services. Customer service has been inconsistent, communication is unreliable, and the pricing structure feels like a bait-and-switch. They get you in with one rate and then continue raising it over time. Between the unexpected access problems and the unreasonable rent increases, this experience has been extremely frustrating. If you're looking for a storage facility that offers dependable access, honest communication, and stable pricing, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere.
