This place is dilapidated and felt very warm for the storage building even though they charge extra for being in a climate controlled unit. Very low lighting in the storage unit. Small narrow doors for the inside units and not easily accessible. The outside doors need access codes to get to the inside units with which some are not working. Overall the units are priced much higher than other places and will recommend to find other newer facilities to protect your furnishing/belongings. read more

Stashing your stuff is a little cheaper if you pick a "climate controlled" place like this one, as opposed to an air conditioned one - this is the main reason I selected this spot. It's a typical storage place. Pros: coded entry access with good entry hours; even when it's 100+ outside, the temp in the climate controlled area is mostly comfy Cons: it's difficult to get someone on the phone when you have a question; there is rarely anyone in the front office {they can't always be out on property} Prices are inline with other units in the area. The lady at the greenbriar location was very rude, unhappy and uncourteous. She made us feel like we were on her way, wasting her time. Eventually she had to act semi-decent when she realized our reserved lot was in a crappy area with no AC or elevator. She had to call her boss and act all nice requesting if they had space available at the Gulfton one. She said she had transferred me over there but going on the app, I saw I now have 2 storages in my name!! She obviously did not do her job right and had a horrible attitude to go with it. I don't recommend the Greenbriar one. It's old and dilapidated. Don't waste your time in this one, go to the Gulfton one. It's much nicer, cleaner and bigger. read more

I went to the location and no one was on-site to help me get access to the unit all while I was being charged by the hr for the movers I was using. I tried calling multiple times and was hung up on by customer service when I told them what was going on. I was placed on hold forever and cold transferred numerous times. We have a 2nd floor unit in a climate controlled area. For weeks we have not had AC. Then yesterday we discovered that the elevator is out. This means we have to move heavy items down the stairs. This will require us to pay someone to move things out. We were told we would get one month free, but we got $25 off. It is horrible. No response at all. read more

Please be aware that Public Storage is not liable for anything ever and if damage occurs because of their negligence you will be required to haul away damaged property at your expense and cannot put it in the dumpster because Public storage does not have a trash receptacle for customers. 1. read their fine print 2. put everything in writing, especially when reporting a leak 3. make sure your insurance is a good fit with a low deductible. 4. If you choose their insurance read the fine print as the company gears everything to favor themselves. 5. document everything and if they say they have corrected something check up on the issue and make sure it has been corrected. This is the second time I've used this facility. Marissa, the manager is awesome..professional, smart, quick to respond to emails or questions, and incredibly nice. The only issue I had is the space I ordered online wasn't as large as the space I actually got but that's ok because all of our things did fit. The other issue is there is still an outstanding fee of $18.00 on our account that for some reason cannot be removed. Don't be cheap, opt for climate controlled unit. So, I had a slight gap between moving out of my old place and moving into the new one. As it was going to be 6 weeks, I didn't get climate controlled. Well, after a family emergency delayed my move 6 months, I opened my unit back up. Everything was covered in green mold. So sad. I don't understand. I've had much of the same furniture in non-climate controlled storage for a full year in an equally humid climate with no issues. I can't help but think it had something to do with the giant drainage ditch outside my unit. Obviously water is going to flow that way. The people were helpful. But the lunch time is very annoying. And only one person works here so if they are showing someone a unit you'll have to wait. read more

I had never rented a storage space before so I had a ton of questions, Trenecia answered them all and was so nice! She made suggestions about packing materials I might need, at first I didnt think I did, but I came back the next day to purchase exactly what she recommended. It was just what I needed. I took away one star because I had to track down a working cart (somebody broke the one for my bldg) and the light bulb in my space is burned out. But I was assured it would be replaced. This facility is in a pretty nice neighborhood and they have a lot of long-term renters. Those were just two reasons why I rented here. The third was Marissa. She handled everything quickly and congratulated me on getting such a good deal online. I wasn't sure how long it would take me to get my storage unit, but it it ended up taking about 15-20 tops. Office is further back from the entrance off of Greenbriar (one-way street) and parking is outside of the office and security gate leading into the facility. Chandice helped us find something that met our short-term storage needs. She was so pleasant and we left with everything that we would need to move our stuff in. The unit was properly marked and easy to find, lights in the long corridors were well lit and working, and everything was very clean and secure. This location is a great option for Rice University students. Our multiple trips were made all the easier to drive to/fro because of the direct/circular route that we used. Poor customer service which has more to do with BS corporate policies than the actual people employed by the company. Found an awesome deal for $51 a month for a 5x10 storage unit in December 2015. Raised our price to $62 within six months of renting. Luckily we are moving into a new house with lots of more storage so my storage slave-payment days are over. The poopy thing is when you provide notice of vacating, your autopayment is turned off and you have to manually go pay online which I forgot to do so now I am responsible for an awesome $20 penalty fee ($82 montly charge holla!). A lot of my stuff was ruined by water damage. Apparently it was caused by roof leakage. Many of my boxes were full of mildew and cockroaches and the items inside were completely ruined. I will never use this place again, this is ridiculously unacceptable. read more

This location is absolutely horrible - avoid at all costs. A water pipe broke in my unit and destroyed several of my belongings. I spoke to Chandice who told me she would talk to the district manager about a remedy and he never returned my phone calls. His name is Syed. I was inconvenienced by asking to leave my key (a security breach) so that they could do maintenance work. This location continues to charge me for storing (now) damaged goods. they do not care about the customer and are not committed to customer satisfaction, I will file a better business bureau complaint as well and plan to escalate to Syed's boss. read more

Jennifer was fantastic! Quick & efficient check in process. I hired a U-Haul van to do the removals myself. It was a very hot day and Jennifer gave me water to cool down. Whilst shifting the boxes from the back of the van I had left the van keys on the driver's seat and the doors locked leaving my wallet, phone, house keys etc. in the driver's cab. In the back of the van there is a panel that separates the cab, Jennifer got a broom handle and squeezed her arm through a gap in the panel and unhooked the door handle allowing me to get back in the cab saving me a considerable amount of extra time and money.
