Public Storage started me at around $200-$250/month, but over time they've increased my rent to $618/month for a 10x20 unit. What's frustrating is that new customers can currently book the exact same size unit on their website for about $221/month. Instead of rewarding long-term customers with fair pricing, they significantly increase rates over time. Disappointing experience. read more

There has been 3 break-ins within the last 3 months at this location that I know about.Each time over 15 units affected. I received a call 3 days ago that my unit was broken into. I came on 3/5/25 at 4:30pm and today 3/6/25 at 5pm and the office is locked with no one here to assist me even though the business hours listed are from 6am to 6pm. I can't even get into my unit to see what is missing because they put another lock on it. When reaching out to the customer service number, I selected the option to speak with a property manager but I can always only leave a voicemail. No one from the company is ever at this location. As upon checking in, I was requested to write them a 5 stars review because I signed up with this unit. But it wasn't the case when my initial price to sign up was $167. Over the course few months it came to $243. I decided to withdraw my stay due to increase in monthly payment. As I'm moving out on the 1st, I was told they still charge for the whole month of $243 even though I'm not there for the next 30 days. The person who helped me was the manager and said I was not approve of the request to get it waived and made me paid with a card upfront. I thought this was absurd. Service should be charged on days put up to use. I felt so robbed. read more

I had this storage for two weeks when I come to find out someone have had broken into my unit. I was never notified I found out Bc I went to drop more stuff). I was told that I was the 4th person broken into at this time. The staff is careless about it... I tried many times to talk to a manager about the issue and apparently she is too busy. And when I say careless they don't give a you know what. After going back and checking the reviews ,I found out this is a common thing at this place. Do not rent any units at the first floor. My initial unit was on the 3rd floor but apparently this unit was not available when I came, so they made me feel like I was getting a deal by giving me one on the first floor. Come to find out they always have those available probably bc all the tenants leave after being robbed. Units in the firsts floor have a gap between the ceiling covered with a net and thats how people get into the units. I went with the police a couple days after the incident and it look half fixed and available for rent again. Stay away from this place read more

Worst experience at the location. Noone is ever in the office to assist. Employee left without reminding me that the access stops at 6 pm. Saw all the items I had and said nothing. Locked out of my unit with all of my items left out in the open. Had to pay movers and additional couple of hundreds of dollars to come back the next day. This location is so unhelpfu! read more

I have been attempting to contact the manager at the location on W Loop S for 3 weeks - no response or call back; I have gone to the location several times- no one is there to assist- this is the worst service. Quite possibly the worst experience I've EVER had. My friend has a unit at this site I spent $60 on a uhaul trailer to help her move out of the unit. Upon arrival we found a random lock on her unit. Verified with the property that it was not her lock and they refuse to remove the lock telling her to get a locksmith to remove it costing her $60 plus because the only person that could remove the lock is district manager and he is on vacation and no one else is allowed to cut locks and the girl working the front desk was wearing a plastic shower looking very unprofessional read more

I had a ground floor 10x10 storage unit at this west loop location. I was broken into twice over the period of about 3 months. The employee told me that people break in( where are the alarms) at night and with ladders, look from above into units to see which ones to enter. They have cameras but would not let me view the incidents. Because I have a lot in storage it was difficult to be sure what was taken. But the unit was ransacked. It seemed like it was either an inside job, a common occurrence, or total apathy on the part of the employees who are often not around even during business hours. They have made some security changes to the front doors as I once found a sleeper inside one set of doors next to the carts. Don't rent at this facility, I believe Public Storage is a good company as i use them in another city. Just never again at this location. read more

I've been a customer here for about a month now and at first I was pretty pleased... but recently I learned that there have been several break-ins to the units here... they are sneaking in during the evenings and climbing over the top of the units cutting the netting at the top and stealing things out of people's units... even large bulky items like large flat screen TV's haven't been a problem for these thieves to nab... I spoke with one of the victims who has a unit a few down from me and he was pretty annoyed by the management's lack of response and concern about these intrusions... I stopped by the office and asked myself and I also sensed a lack of concern. The bottom line here is that its likely your unit will get broken into here - so unless you are storing low-value items, I'd look elsewhere (especially if you consider the relatively high rates they are charging here). read more

I am leaving this review only to highlight the District manager for this location. The location Manager and people at this facility are great. I showed up at 10am with movers to offload a truck load of furniture from my house and the elevators were not working due to fire panel issue. There was no insight as to a time line for it getting fixed so after 40 minutes of waiting, the movers left to come back in the afternoon. I was joking with the manager about the issue and told her I understand things happen but I should get a free month rent.. ha ha. District manager showed up at 1050am and I jokingly repeated to him that I should get a free month rent and he was extremely rude and replied "yeah I don't think so, i am not giving a free month rent for 5 minutes of the elevator being down" I was a really shocked by the response since he seemed very combative with me from the start even though I kind of laughed when I mentioned the free rent. I told Him I was moving in a house full of furniture and he said " well the movers haven't shown up yet anyway". I informed him that we had all been here since 10am and they just left. I told him I am getting charged extra by movers since they have to come back another time since elevators were down with no idea when they would be back up. He told me "well that is your problem". I was speechless... I am not sure why this person was so rude and combative with me but it was very shocking inside ring how nice the rest of the people there are. Even the manager apologized to me when he was in another room. I hope he takes a class in customer service and the proper way to deal with people instead of being so rude and disrespectful. It gives his company and the facilities he represents a bad name. It did get fixed after about 10 minutes of him being there but then he said "there you go, it's fixed". No apology for the inconvenience or anything resembling something close to that. Such a shame that the people at the facilities have to work for and be represented by someone like that. The place is clean but customer service is horrible. Good luck trying to reach someone on the phone because no one ever answers it. After constantly calling with no luck, I came down to the location. The doors were locked with a signed stating the time the property manager will be back. I had previously pulled on the door before I read the sign and the noise from the lock caused someone inside to turn around and look at me but she decided to keep walking to the back. I figured ok, it's probably standard procedure for lunch breaks or something. The sign displayed that someone will be back at 1:45 and it was 1:30. No big deal. I'll wait in my car. Ten minutes later the manager walks outside with another person and took selfies right in front of my car! She walks back in and I wait 5 more minutes. The door is still locked. The lights are now off and the sign time has been changed to 2:00. I guess selfie time was put into consideration for her break. read more

After being a loyal customer of Public Storage off and on for the last 30 years, one incident has created such a sour note that I will no longer being using not only this location but any Public Storage location in the future. What should have been a small easily resolved issue resulted in this decision. The topping off was the appalling attitude of the property manager, Rasheda. I will admit, Customer Service is a pet peeve of mine. I've always made customer service a top priority in my professional career and consequently expect the same when I am on the customer end of a transaction. Often times I am disappointed as I understand my expectations are high. So when I am disappointed in the service I receive I just chalk it off to someone having a bad day or not being content in their job. However, I feel so strongly about this particular matter I felt that Public Storage Corporate should know about the issue. I hope they take time to read reviews as this is not a situation of a customer that's having a bad day but a customer who is highly disappointed. I am 60 years old and only one other time in my life have I made such a drastic decision to refuse to do business with someone over customer service. This is sad as I have use this Public Storage many times over the last 10 years and its so very convenient for me. I am willing to go out the added expense and inconvenience of relocating my items over this matter. What has happened to our world? Bad experiences here include: * Sprinklers leaked on floor above, flooding unit * Flimsy wire structure on top of unit and poor general security resulted in burglary of unit, ransacked items and anything of value taken * Dealing with the 'insurance' after the break-in was deliberately obtuse and aggravating, anything to avoid paying a claim despite police report So go ahead and store your things here if you don't want to see them again. read more

I've been using this Public Storage location for over 10 years. I have 2 large units. This facility is very well maintained. Super-clean interior. The staff is always wonderful and very friendly. Always a hello and waive when entering. They seem to take pride in running this well oiled wheel. There are so many of these storage facilities around the city, why not choose one that is clean, safe, and well run by friendly helpful people? I am happy to store my crap here. read more

This used to be a customer friendly facility, but they are only interested in raising prices while not protecting your goods. There has been water damage from THEIR pipes that they refuse to help you with or accept responsibility for. I would never rent space here and although they advertise climate controlled - I guess that means under water and it's your fault. Their policy is a disgrace and their management violates all business ethics one can imagine except getting paid in advance and continuing to raise rates without increasing service. This is the nicest storage facility I have ever seen! Great location for inner loop people to store things temporarily. The 7.5' x 10' is laid out really well with a large door. The paperwork takes way too long, even if you pre-fill info online before arrival. There are only 3 carts for wheeling your stuff into the elevator, and there need to be more for a facility of this size. Nice big automatic doors though are very handy! read more
