Ive stored my stuff here for the past 10 years ( unhappily) but because I had soo much stuff ( my entire life ) in this 10x13 unit I just hoped I'd finally be on my feet and moving my stuff to my own home soon.... Long, completely devastating story short .... I live paycheck to paycheck and due to the irregular, completely random and ending in 100% OBNOXIOUS rate Increases with absolutely no notice or rhyme or reason.... they blind sided me into rental and late fees adding up to more then my 2 week full time job paycheck and after previously being allowed a grace period Of almost 3 months in the past ... (unfortunately, this was my normal pattern - including paying whatever they decide my late fees will be for that month for 9 YEARS ). This month they raised my rent to almost triple and slapped a $ 500 late fee on it and before the months end .... already auctioned off my unit with no letter , no message in the app, and no email!!!!!! My dad's ashes were in there.... I also paid $ I'm the last 30 days including 100 of it 2 days before they auctioned my unit off!!!! They have been incapable of updating my email address correctly in their system for over a year of me requesting this , regularly , when I paid my bill.... oh and I forgot to mention that my unit was broken into just 1 month ago and the contents in the front section of my unit were gone!!!! And they locked us I the stairwell with no way out until after the holiday they were telling me and thankfully someone happened to open the door to go to their unit and saved the day. They got the appropriate doors and denied that that was ever even possible that that happened! I am heartbroken and disgusted!!!!! Find a small family business owned storage facility... The strategic and shady way they manage the inbound calls make it almost impossible for me to make contact with them now that I no longer have a unit there.... They start you off at a good deal, then the price triples. Went from $100 to almost $400. I cleared my unit and left two messages to cancel my storage unit. And no one has returned my call. I was there at 9am and waited until 9:30 am, and there was no one in the office on a Thursday. They want you to download an app. I don't need an app. I need to cancel my storage space. Hopefully someone will get back to me. I would never recommend this place. read more

Do not rent here. The office is Awful and mymy unit was broken into my lock was cut and they told me I left it open when I went to report it to the office. Office staff are liars and do not help you. Security Gate was always open so anyone could get in. Security cameras don't work at the gate and they have no other camera on the property. They will not help you if anything happens. They will ignore your calls and lock the office door. Had to waste time filing a police report and insurance they sell you covers nothing . Plenty of other wonderful places to store your items. The elevator is one month away from breaking down every time we go, it has a new noise not to mention it hasn't had a safety inspection in like 3 years. The prices are outrageous and the building is old, I got a way better deal for $50 less a month at dollar self storage down the road for a ground level indoor unit. They wanted $50 more for a second or third floor unit. The quality of the site is not great it is older and you feel the floors bend when you walk. read more

First and foremost if you need a storage DO NOT GO HERE!!! The employees are not helpful what so ever! They don't like there jobs and it's noticeable. A employee by the name of amber was by far the rudest. Didn't explain anything about having to do a walk through. Or the check out process. Even after calling her out on her behavior she still proceeded to be rude! No one ever answers the phone. My storage lock was changed with out my consent and to get it open they wanted me to call a locksmith and pay for it! If I could rate this company below 1 star I would. Absolutely the most unprofessional storage company in existence. I had a reservation for a storage unit on the green valley pkwy store and they canceled my reservation without speaking to me. When they told me the reservation was good until today, which is the 5th. Then we go to this location 4056 e sunset and no one is on property. I've been waiting since 11 am, gone through 4 customer service agents, and no one can even get the person who is supposed to be here on the line. This seems to be a very common occurrence. Even at the green valley location. The day of our reservation we went during their open hours and NO ONE was there. I'm not sure how they like to run things but it is purely unprofessional. I just want to look at a unit to see if it will fit for our things. For you to not even be able to reach a property manager that legitimately is supposed to be living on property is unbelievable. This is absurd. I ask customer service to speak to a manager to be transferred to another customer service agent. They won't even let me speak to someone above them. When I call other locations to get someone close by to come over to help, no one even wants to answer the phone. I finally get to a escalated specialist and she is just so kind and is frustrated that she can't even get in touch with the district manager. I have been a member of this public storage for approximately two years. During this time the rate for my unit has gone up twice which has prompted me to empty my unit and be done with it. My issue however is the fact that the gate access apparently does not start until 9:30 in the morning. Needless to say when I showed up at 8:30 and the gate didn't open I was a little ticked off. Furthermore, when I called the after hours access (because apparently 8:30 in the morning is after hours) of course no one answered. Paying almost $200 a month should warrant me to access my stuff practically whenever, or at least at a normal hour such as 8:30 in the morning. Thankfully I'll soon be done with my unit and thinking twice before using public storage again. read more

DO NOT RENT HERE!!! THEY ARE THEIVES!!! The customer service is beyond poor and they will steal your things. The fees are crazy and the units are old and nasty. The place where you put your lock looks like it can be easily torn off the door. Our unit was on the second floor and it sounds and feels like the floor is going to drop right out from under you when walking to your unit on the second and third floor. The building looks like it is about to crumble. There is a huge gap in the gate to exit and the gate to enter the facility and the employees often use these gaps to go in and out of the storage area. I saw this with my own eyes. If they can do it so can any person walking by. The gate and lights are often broken. One night we went there and the gate was wide open for hours. When the lights are working it is still very poorly lit and dim. There is nothing secure about this facility! After having a heart attack and getting behind on my unit they refused to work with me. After cutting my lock they replaced it with their own lock and just thru my cut lock inside the unit. I was finally able to get my unit back after paying a hefty fine to keep it from going into auction. I had one week to get my stuff out of the unit as I decided right then that I would not continue to do business with them! I could not afford a moving truck as I just paid a ton of ridiculous fees to Public Storage. So I was moving my things one load at a time in my car. Half way thru the week my unit was broken into. Surprise, surprise...NOT! After they had cut my lock they knew exactly what I had in the unit. The manager said they tried to call but the phone didn't work. I had an emergency number on file with them which was my husbands phone number and he never got a call. So if a break in is not considered an emergency, what is and why do they ask for an emergency contact if they are not going to use it? I asked the manager why they didn't call him and she said let me look in the computer and see if we have the info on file. She looked and then said "oh, yes we do but we didn't call that number". WHY? We instead found out the unit was broken into when we went to get into our unit after work which was after their office hours so we had to wait until the next day to go in as they had put their own lock on it. Shockingly, as we walked to the unit to see, the manager said to us "they left the heavy stuff" as if she knew exactly what they took. This made us feel like she did it or at least had something to do with it. The unit was ransacked and most of our items were gone. They stole a dolly from our unit so why would they "leave the heavy stuff" anyway? They took their time and went thru the boxes and took what they wanted. Another indication that it was an inside job! The manager was not helpful at all and when we asked to see the security footage from the so-called cameras outside for our police report, she told us, very rudely, to get a search warrant. She also kept saying to file a claim with insurance. Yet another indication of an inside job! Some of the things stolen were family heirlooms and cannot be replaced by insurance so when someone goes thru this the manager should think twice about the way she treats a person in distress. I feel really violated by Public Storage and I will never use them again. I have used other storage companies and never was treated so poorly as Public Storage. Other companies are much more reliable, secure, and way better customer service. Think twice, maybe three times before renting here! I make sure to let everyone know my experience here so they don't have to suffer the same fate I did! read more

Update: A Vice President finally got involved after we drove to a local public storage and they refused the money order we were told we had to bring in. Ended up having to find an ATM and max out our withdrawal limit to settle our account. Then come to find out the idiot that took our cash only credited it to one of our units sending the other into penalty. The company is waiving the fee and unlocking our ability to pay remotely but won't credit the payment to the other account. Now we have to come up with even more money to pay on the other unit. I am really hating this company. Original review: First thing, the ladies who run this particular office are nice and pleasant to deal with. My issues is not with individuals, it's with the company as a whole. We are a military family that received PCS orders that aren't going to be for very long, so we decided to put all of our belongings in storage. Quick sidenote for any military spouses if your servicemember isn't with you they won't give you the military rate. We paid six months in advance for two units and once that ran out I went online to make a payment. I noticed the funds weren't being withdrawn from our bank account. And after waiting 11 days I called the local office. They couldn't figure it out so they called the corporate office. After almost a week they figured out I must've entered a routing number or bank account incorrectly. I was told to go online and make a payment. I was not allowed to make a payment for some reason and couldn't understand why. Again I called the local office and they gave me a corporate office number to call. I was told since I "default on a payment" I would be required to show up in person from now on and pay my bill with cash or money order. We are currently on a military base on the opposite end of the country. I made numerous other calls to the district manager, local office and corporate just trying to give them our money. I have been treated horribly. I am now being required to drive 40 minutes off the military base to find the closest public storage and pay our bill in person. I've also been informed that this penalty will not be removed, EVER! What kind of company punishes good customers who have never been late on a payment and has always paid early. I made one mistake and messed up entering an account number, once! I have been diligent about trying to resolve our bill however they won't take our money unless it's on their punitive terms. So a warning to my military family out there, especially if you're going to be going overseas, don't trust this company. They are no friend to their customers, especially to their military customers. There see no communication between managers here, And if there is well they just don't care! My husband had surgery and his disability checks got delayed so I had to be late this month. I spoke with one of the mangers on Thursday the 15th and told them I would pay in full on the 21st, basically i made a promise to pay. She showed concern for my situation and told me she will put a note on my account and she will look for the payment on the 21st. Well on the 20th I get a call from the facility, a different manager this time (i won't drop names) wondering where my payment was..... really?! Even professional debt collectors honor a promise to pay and won't call you until the day after the payment is due. Last month I was a little late as well just because the whole first of he month billing thing they do doesn't work for me with rent and other bills being due on the 1st, a week after my payment was made i get a call from the manager wondering where my payment was. REALLY?! Now I don't know if this is just aggressive collection tactics on the managers part or if public storage corporate, a world wide corporation is making them do it, but Do yourself a favor, go with a smaller self storage company if you need storage. I used to work in self storage and Public Storage bought my facility and offered me a job. After learning how they operate.... i declined the offer and stayed with my employer at the time, StorageOne. I should have known better before I rented at this location. Since December of 2015 I've had 3 increases in my rent and nothing but aggravation. trying to find a flat cart to move things around is nearly impossible. I have 2 units here and because of that I have 2 gate codes. Why? Why do I need 2 gate codes? DON'T EVER GET A STORAGE UNIT HERE!!!! You might as well just put your stuff out on the side of a road. That's how safe this place is. My unit was broken into Jan 4. and according to the Manager, so was 3 other units at the same time. Whoever stole my things, apparently cut my lock off (which was a padlock.. get a disc lock) and put their own lock on. And they must have been actual customers bc you need a code to get into the gate. The office closes at 6pm but whoever has a unit can punch their code in and get into the facility up until 9pm. So the Manager said when he noticed the lock didn't have a sticker on it, which all locks have on them, he immediately put on another lock. I asked him if he could cut that lock so I could see if my items were stolen, but he said they do not have those cutters on the premises. I guess so no one assumes thefts could be an inside job, which I think this was, maybe? The Manager proceeded to tell me the only way I could get the lock cut was to have the District manager do it, which could take up to 5 days!!! Or get a locksmith, or if I knew anyone with lock cutters I could use them. I would think this would be an urgent matter for the District Manager, but 5 days?? No thanks. Luckily, a friend of mine had a set of cutters. I picked him up and opened up my unit. Of course almost everything was gone. What made me upset is when I asked the Manager if I should call the police, he kind of shrugged off the idea saying that unless your stolen items aren't worth over $5,000 they are probably not going to come. I was like WHAT??? This made me think more and more it was an inside job. He just wasn't very helpful. My stolen stuff totaled over $3000, an old computer, video camera, tons of clothes, jewelry, accessories, shoes, household items, luggage, bags, dishes, lot's of my family's and mother's things. I did have insurance on my items, which is yet another reason I think it's an inside job. So I just took whatever I had left and the next day went to the police station to file a report and went back there to close out my unit. I will never get a storage unit with this company again. There is only 1 camera at the gate entrance. No cameras in the facility's building, in the hallways, or elevators. There are no alarms. After posting about this and telling people, I've learned that this has happened to a lot of other people and especially with Public Storage. One of my friends said she has had a storage unit with Storage One for awhile now and they have alarms on each unit. Boy I wish I knew this earlier. Still going thru the insurance claim procedures. They said I need proof of ownership of everything I'm making a claim on. Crazy, I don't have receipts for a lot of gifts and old family things!!!! But I do have pictures which they accept too. Their sprinkler system went off and leaked into all their belongings and damaged most of all their house belongings. They claim it's " in the contract" . I guess there was an issue with my autopay payment because I got a new credit card. They conveniently called me today on the 8th, one day after the late fee was assessed to let me know that. They could have called when the payment originally didn't go through. Also my rent started out under $100/month and after a year it's now over $130. They keep raising it. Not happy. Will be moving my storage unit soon. Also when I first went to rent this unit, the lady tried giving me a unit with a huge vent running through it at the same price, which took away almost a quarter of the storage space. Andrea walked another gentleman and I around to see our units and he and I actually ended up swapping units so it worked out well. They were vey accommodating and helpful and would def come here again. The unit was just basic as is any storage unit. It was climate controlled tho a little warmer than I'd like but not a big deal.
