I rented a 10 x 20 unit from extra space storage for about a year. I asked if 79$pluse insurance a month was a special rate and they said no, thats what the monthly rate is. After 4 months they raised the rate to 158$ plus insurance and after 6 months they raised the rate to 238$ plus insurance they said it could still go up from there. I was pretty upset that they can get way with charging you what ever they want. It took me 2 months to be able to move my stuff out of the storage at a ridiculous rate from when I started. Renters beware of this shady business they have been getting away with this far too long .

Despite the rules indicating that units are prohibited to be used as residences, the manager turns a blind eye to the activities. You cannot even utilize the restroom at the facility if you arrive at the facility at 6am, until the office opens and unlocks it because the homeless that live there will either sleep in the restroom or mess it up (bathing, etc).
