Ridiculous! Every 6 months they raise the rent! Of course you don't even have a choice but to pay it! FIND ANOTHER STORAGE company! We were able to rent a studio apartment that is much larger, has a bathroom and closet space. We can not only store all our belongings but have an extra space for guests to stay when they visit us! read more

If I could give this place no stars that would be too much! I wish that I would have read the reviews first. Apparently there tactic is to give you a sort of decent rate when you move in, then start raising it at about 3 months. And then again a couple months later! These guys are complete scammers. My rent for a 8' × 10' was $450 at the beginning and 3 months later they raised it to $600! I would recommend skipping this deceptive storage facility! read more

I have multiple storage units at this facility. While I find the economics of storage -- and Public Storage in particular -- a bit confusing (or even frustrating) at times, the staff at this location have always been amazing, and I want to give a particular shout-out to Ernie for going above and beyond in helping along my quest. read more

I had a 10x10 for 200 a month. After month 3, it went to 280. After month 12, it went do 394. IT is a scam. They know its hard to move things, get you will a teaser rate, and then take as much advantage as they can. They are a terrible, predetory business. I read more

I wish I had done more research prior to using this facility,. y rent started out at $114 a month for an 8x10, decent I guess, however the price went up and up and up without notice, while undergoing cancer treatment , not their fault, understood, but you'd think maybe as a good customer they would give some leniency towards making the payment , right, not at all, in fact they raised the amount due daily, without notice, I now owe almost $500 to remove my items and they plan on selling my belongings in aug 29 at auction all the while raising my rent, are you fucking kidding me?? thus making it nearly impossible for me to get whats mine, what I have left of my life while fighting this deadly disease .. they don't make enough money? I find this completely despicable and pray sweet karma finds them read more

My rent started at 160 within a few months. They raised it 60 bucks then they raised it a few months later again and again and here we are one year later and they raised it all the way up to $330. More than doubled than one year. That's shady. read more

Super nice young men in the office always a "hello" and a smile......getting in the gate is easy you can drive up and put the code in however getting out you have to get out of your car walk up to the gate push the code in and then quickly get back to your car... I'm a little old and partially disabled so it does take me a while to do that...that's the only complaint I would have..... other than that the elevators are great getting into the units SUPER easy access.....once inside the flat cart dolly thing was a bonus...... I would definitely use this place again if I needed to....easy parking too. read more

I have been looking at several storage facilities because I have a possible short term employment opportunity which requires me to temporarily relocate. Brian was extremely helpful and gave me several options, I was really happy at how clean the facility was, and something that is really important to me is how safe the facility looked. When this job opportunity becomes reality, I will definitely be going back to speak to Brian read more

Shoutout to Ernie for showing us multiple units . He answered all the questions my partner and I had. Thanks for your service.

Wow! These guys are the best! Absolute life saviors! I foolishly left my unit open and they went and closed it and locked it for me! Saved all my stuff . Would've broken me if it was emptied. Like bravo My head was not on today and they took notice, saved me from myself and went above and beyond!! Thank you, endlessly read more

I've been using Public Storage for several years now, usually for one or two months at a time. In the past, they've always prorated rent, so I wouldn't get stuck paying for an entire month if I move out on the 3rd. I didn't mind giving them my money, since they were always professional and polite. However, those friendly people left and a new breed of condescending unprofessionals are now in charge of Public $torage's customer dis-service. I went in to ask if my rent could be prorated since I officially moved out on the 3rd of the month. I'll admit I shouldn't have turned on autopay, but since their website wasn't working when I tried to pay rent (apparently their web developers are recruited from the same pool of grifters as the rest of their employees), I figured it was easier to just turn on autopay when I visited the office and be done with it. Unfortunately, the manager told me that she couldn't refund my money, and that Public Storage hasn't prorated rents "for several years now." Even slumlords will prorate rent, so what does that say about Public Storage? I asked her if there was anything I could do about it, hoping that maybe there was a division at Public Storage called "people who give a shit." Her wonderful response was, "Call your bank and contest the charges," all while giving me a look like she got caught with her hand in the cookie jar. I contacted their amazing support team on Facebook to inquire about when they stopped prorating rents and they gave me a canned "contact this number for blah blah." Hey buddy, all did I was ask a simple question that has an answer in the format "[MONTH] [YEAR]". If I wanted to waste more of my time with people who viewed me like another sucker, I'd walk into your office again. Long story short: avoid Public $$$torage. read more

I rented a storage unit at the indoor facility for years before it was taken over by Public Storage. It was clean and well managed and they rarely raised the rent. When Public Storage took over they kept raising the rent every few months. The rent went up by 50% in just two years! What was crazy: The rent for new renters was still the same as what I had paid two years earlier! They claimed the only way I could get that lower rent was to move to a new unit. I would have to keep doing that. So, they have a come-on rate that is OK if you are renting sort term. But if you stay, you will get priced out. They also did not maintain the place as well as the original owners. Notably, it became difficult to find a moving cart when you needed one. I moved out four years ago. But this month I decided to give them another try. I made a reservation. I went over there with the reservation in hand. Guess what? They gave that unit away to someone else. The reservation means absolutely nothing. It just means that if they still happen to have that unit you get it at that price. But if they give it away, you have no recourse. The only reason I didn't give it one star: If you only need a space short term this may work for you. If you can actually find a space before they give it away to someone else. read more

We needed a storage unit for my son and his roommate for one month as they were in between apartments. I called around and this facility had the best price and availability. It was a bit annoying to deal with the 800 # at first but once I got the local number, I was able to get answers to my questions. The unit my son had was way bigger than he needed but it was the size on the special price so we took it. When he moved out, they charged his card correctly and there was no hassle. I was there on three occasions and each time the buildings were clean and very well taken care of. There was even a young man moping on the last visit! The office staff was very pleasant and helpful with questions. If we need to move my son again next year, I won't hesitate to come here again. read more

Watch out. They start you with incentives and then they keep raising the rental price. My unit lists at less than $340 to start. Now with out any justification they are charging me more than $935. read more

Bad customer service. Needed temporary storage for a move. This worked. I'm a little baffled by their rent policy. They pro-rate on the front end but not the back end. I was in the unit for less than 3 months and I got charged for 3 months and 21 days. I tried to get my stuff out by end of March but movers weren't available until April 4. Public Storage made me pay for all of April. Wouldn't budge when I talked to them. Not customer friendly. read more

Great customer service. The rate is good, the facility clean and accessible and the location is good.

I was so impressed by the cleanliness and safety of the facility - and the units are really nice! Top notch staff on the phone. Solution oriented staff! Just the storage I needed in a high demand college area. Thanks.

These people are monsters. They have human faces but they are empty soulless monsters. I lost nearly everything I owned in a fire and what I had left was here in storage until I could get back on my feet. And they knew this. They sold my precious treasures for next to nothing. They never once on any call told me this was pending. They just left the same message that I needed to call them, same exact thing they say when you're late paying. The unit was only ONE month late.. Their policy is to take action when it is three nmonths late. This was a "decision" the district manager made. It was not policy. In approaching said manager Dana Hill, he was too busy to talk to me as he was getting ready for the next round of auctions. Althoigh, to be fair, he did offer to speak worth me in a couple of hours aftwards. As I stand in the chair less office leaning on my cane. Right, thanks! He also stated that the buyer has no legal obligation to return legal papers and dovuments. What an easy in for identity theft! When I went in to pay I got the news, and they didn't bat an eye. I was screaming in pain and anguish to be going through this kind of loss again, they didn't care. Stacy the manager is as bad as Dana the district msnager. Disgusting that they couldn't make the effort to leave an accurate message of what was really happening. I collapsed from shock in their parking lot, fell and cracked my knee and then passed out. All they did was yell from the door, theywere going to call 911 no one could be bothered to walk out 10 steps to help me up, offer me water, anything at all. No, just standing in ghe doirway, watching me struggling to get up off the hot asphalt. I'll mention that iam 60 years old, so a hand up would have been the very least they could have offered. I sincerely hope that the karma they reap from this obliterates THEIR lives to ash. In the meantime I am pursuing legal action. They make millions, and yet couldn't wait on a $250 one month late payment. All of the units are termite infested as well. You want a horrible place where they will sell your things out from under you without proper notification.? This is it. read more

BEWARE!! I rented the space a couple of days before Oct. 1, 2017 and after just 4 MONTHS they raised the rate from $191 to $217 with NO NOTICE!!!! In fact because I was on auto debit, I did not notice the increase in Feb until March 9 when I called and complained. They claim to have sent a post card 30 days in advance mentioning the increase. NO POSTCARD came! Today I was informed by the manager that Public Storage consider the increase to be market rate. When I spoke to the District manager he told me the system declined a request to restore the contracted rate. So its the systems fault, nothing he can do about it. Moreover he told me that they are full. So I guess they feel they can afford to extort more money from their existing customers. In terms of market rate, I found several units for far less than Public Storage today and even less than my original fee of $190. read more

If I can give it 0 stars I would! I rented out a storage unit and not even 2 months within my stay, my storage got broken into. I had gotten a lot of my valuable assets stolen from me, some were even collector items. The lock was still in tack so that it didn't seem like there was any forced entry. The thieves must've came through the inside of the unit. BEWARE, there are no security cameras in the facility. I'm currently dealing with the insurance claim right now and it seems like they won't even take care of me. It's so much of a hassle. I requested moving into a different unit right away but I got ignored by the workers and so I moved out of there quickly! If you want to get your stuff stolen, this is the place to be! read more

Kristine was a great help in showing us the storage unit and walking us through the payments. Definitely a great help, clean facility.

If you want your stuff stolen then use this place. apparently the guy across had his unit robbed and move out. They didn't even have the courtesy to let me know so I could make sure my stuff was ok. But if I was ever late with a payment I would get emails. Some of the units the (5x5) have a major security flaw. All the units have openings between them with chicken wire. Crooks rent one space then after hours they break the chicken wire and go from unit to unit stealing stuff. Don't keep anything of real value there it's not secure!!! read more

It get worse than my original review which talked about the bait-and switch tactics regarding pricing. My first call to the Goleta facility was about the bill. The phone number listed on all my emails from PS was incorrect--that line was disconnected. I went to their website for the correct number. I called that number and had to go through a menu which firstly asked for my telephone number for the account. I imputed my number--an automated reply claimed no link with my number. I then went back and imputed my account number--an automated reply claimed no link with my number! This is the most disfunction office I have ever seen. I finally did by-pass the phone menu to get to a live representative who explained they were going through changes so that accounted for my difficulties--poor, poor excuse for a business. Be warned... read more

Went to this Public Storage to clean out a unit for an uncle who no longer lives in the area, I live in the San Diego area and the other family members joining us are from Pasadena, My sister-in-law and I both called multiple times each day, within their business hours, to try and get some information about what was on site or what we needed to arrange to help with the removal of his stuff. This wasn't just one or two days, it was for over a week. No one ever returned our calls. Which is ironic, because when you leave a message they say they will return your call promptly. Even if the answers to our questions was no, that is fine, we,just need to know that. While on site, during normal business hours, I went to the office and the door was locked. No one was there, nor a note to say if someone had been there but needed to leave or would be back soon. Once someone finally showed up, I asked about trash removal and the dumpster on site. The dumpster on site cannot be used, which is fine, but why not return a phone call to let someone know that in advance. I then asked if there was charities in the area that we could donate items to. I was told no, again which is fine as I had looked into some places before leaving San Diego, I just thought if they dealt with a local charity. We would use them. I also asked if they had a trash removal service that was within the area. Again the answer was no, but again fine as I had done some research. When 1 800 got junk arrived, they were so helpful and mentioned they get referrals from the Manager at this PS. I noted that was interesting as when I asked, the girl informed me they didn't know of anyone. I could go on, but I think you get the point. If all you need to do is store your stuff, maybe give them a try. If you need to interact with anyone, go some place else. read more

Friendly staff and a straightforward set of units. Easy accessibility. This is what you're looking forz

Terrible customer service, the manager is a complete dick. Overpriced. Waited for three hours in their office before getting service.

The storage was fine, access was easy, and none of my stuff was stolen. I stored a car in there, and there were no issues with it. The low rating is for a very concerning fact: I had a friend go over and empty the locker and take the lock, but not talk to the main office; the next day, the office simply noticed that everything was gone and closed the account, *without* any warning to the customer! I called to close the account 5 days later, and still they had not contacted me. So if a thief had come and taken the car and the lock, I wouldn't even had gotten a warning - no phone call, no email. Since I was using the locker for months, the car could have disappeared months ago and I wouldn't know. When I asked the agent on the phone about it, they got upset and hang up on my face. That's a terrible policy, and they should fix that. read more

Not bad yet... but it is early. Kristine was sweet, and professional. Typical high pressure to buy their insurance, though. That's unfortunate.
