Had a pretty good experience renting a storage unit here. It's located in the Garland area and the surrounding area seems safe for the most part. The big reason I chose to go with this facility is they easily offered one of the best rates for storage units in the Dallas area. The staff here was very friendly and was always willing to help where they could. The app to get in and out of the Public Storage area and make payments is very useful as well. My only issues with this location had to do with my rate increasing after 6 months. Something I never felt I was made aware of. Also, there was a little what looked like rat feces when I went to move out in the corner of my unit. The movers were the ones to originally make myself aware, but never saw any damage to my own belongings in the end. I will also say when I initially moved in, the locking mechanism wasn't working, but the staff made sure to fix it immediately later that day once it was pointed out. All in all, I'd definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a storage unit at a great rate in the Dallas area! read more

Now that they no longer have an onsite manager, the property has suffered tremendously. the interior spaces smell terrible, they are overrun with rodents, the temperature is far too warm and it is generally just dirty and disgusting. If you value any of your belongings, this is NOT the place to store them. The price is far too high and they raise your rent ALL the time. This place has become an absolute dump and the management SUCKS. They have no interest in resolving any problems or issues. I will be moving out of this nasty place ASAP and pray that my belongings are salvageable. read more

So I booked and paid for my storage unit early in the morning. I had to work until 8pm, I show up at 8:25pm, not 9 when they're closed, and apparently that decided to close early even though I called and told them I was gonna be there late. The app won't give me my access code because it says I have a past due balance that needs to be paid but I'm all paid up until May 1st. When I got there a worker let us in the gate, but couldn't help me get my access or gate code. I called the customer service number and she was very rude and disrespectful. Didn't try to explain or help me at all. Then when I'm talking about something important she interrupters and says "sir I'm speaking now" then said her little rude spill and I wasn't done talking but she decided to hang up on me during my time of need! I would like to escalate this situation or be compensated or something needs to be done. That's not how you run a business and not how you talk to your paying customers! read more

We payed for climate control storage. Our belongings have been stored here for 3 months, and when I went to pick some of them up yesterday there was water in the unit, and all of my boxes were wet, moldy, and rotting out the bottom. Upon inspection, there appears to be an actual hole to the outside elements in the ceiling of our unit. When we contacted the office, they said that had to be covered under "extra insurance". Call me crazy, but keeping the rain out seems like it should fall under "climate control". Also, patching holes in the roof should be a given... We should have at least been notified of a possible issue. Do not trust this facility with your possessions. read more

This place is infested with rats! The inside storage unit I had was covered in rat feces and urine. The rodents made nests out of my clothing and other belongings. A lot of my belongings were ruined. The insurance that comes with the unit has a $250 vermin limit. The staff was less than helpful. They refused to clean the rat feces that is covering the floor and offered me a broom to clean it myself. Do Not use the place! There is a reason they are cheaper than others in the area. read more

I moved out on 12-31-21 mgr said ok to go back on first to clean. Not true they are trying to charge another months rent for cleaning on the first. Crazy after 16 months there of fees for storage. read more

Moving my storage in was good. Monthly payments for my duration went up every year. I was a customer for 4 years. Sometimes I would get an e-mail and often times not. I was contacted via phone when my rent wasn't the new amount, and I quickly sent the difference. The phones need to be answered quickly, with customer service always in mind, effective commination skills need to be improved. When I called hard to get someone to answer the phone.Yes, this may be a storage company but it's the reputation of the business as a whole that is the big picture, every little action counts. Moving out was a complete and utter disappointment. We were told one thing then another actually happened. We hadn't been to the unit in a while, so prior to move out we went to check the unit. My unit, on the 3rd floor, the elevator wasn't working. Wow! For how long has this been out, was service called to fix - nothing - I couldn't believe this! The most horrific customer service happened - I could not believe it myself. The Public Storage 406 S. Plano Road, Garland TX 75042 on Friday June 1st at 9:30am - didn't get her name. Unbelievable, I don't think retraining would work; I would fire this employee in a heartbeat. Attitude with me, attitude of didn't want to be here, didn't want to help, yelling and display of bad customer service. She acted like being at the job was a huge inconvenience to her and she didn't want to be bothered. Her excuse was she didn't work at this location, and was filling in - no matter - try your best, explain that the customer and for goodness sake do you best. We all have our days, and dealing with the public can be demanding and stressful at times, although never ever show that to the paying customer. I would not recommend this company nor this location to anyone what so ever. We are glad we moved out and will not ever be returning to Public Storage. I will steer anyone away from Public Storage especially this location after the horrific experience I had to live though. read more

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS RUDE AND INFESTED PLACE!!!!!!. I rented this place for 18 months. The manager by the name Amanda (extremely rude person) I was charged for climate controlled storage and I was under the impression that it was really climate controlled. However, when I came to get my things, I found rats in my boxes and my things were all filled with rat droppings & roaches. ALL of my storage buckets were warped and All of brand new bath & body 3 wick candles were melted out. Of course after placing my items there, I trusted them and never went back for it until I moved out. Of course the main manager Amanda is totally rude and un approachable. I believe there was absolutely no a/c storage facility. She made me believe it & charged me for it the whole 16-18months. That was all I had replaced after losing everything to the tornado. Sure would not recommend nor Trust this company again. We can't even go there after 6pm which is not normal for storage facilities. This texas heat and no a/c. She wants to turn the power off and go home read more

My name is Mark Ryan and this is the worse facility I have ever used.On june 21 i went to this property and a very nice young man showed me my unit. I explained to him that i buy gym equipment to resell and would be having clients come pick the equipment up. he said no problem. then next day there district manager was there and said i could not do this that it was against there policy.her name was danya.i explained that her manager already said it was ok. please keep in mind this was costly to me to move in then when they told me i could not stay any longer i had to pay another hauling company to move my items out.i am talking commercial gym equipment. during my 30 days there the storage manager some blonde hair lady reminded me that i had to leave in 30 days 5 times. she is very unprofessional. i am a grown adult business owners that have used storage units before and this was the worse experience. the place is old,dirty and the management is very rude.i found a new place 1 mile away that is welcoming my business and money.i called the district manager last week to complain and ask her to have her property manager stop harassing me and i still have not heard back from danya the district manager. my review and comment do not go there.this review is for o banion road in garland. read more

I have had an account for 3 years and service is good. Main issue the rates, they have a good move in special and then they go up each year and for a storage it's not worth it. I have called and tried to negotiate my rate and management is not willing to review it. I will be scheduling my move out since it's not worth the rate I am being charged. read more
