After all the one time payments and first month was paid, my total monthly rent came to $59.52/month. Everything was great until I received a notice at the end of August that my rent would nearly double. This sudden increase was disappointing and ultimately led to my decision to move out. I set my move-out date for September 11 but vacated the unit on September 6 and notified them that same day. I'm still waiting on a confirmation email. Aside from the rent increase, customer service, safety, and everything else was good, but the unexpected price hike was the dealbreaker for me.

I do not usually write negative reviews because I don't want to affect someone's livelihood, however, the situation has become so bad that I feel I have no other choice. The problems started a few years ago when my unit was broken into. The lock had been replaced, my belongings were damaged and shockingly, someone had urinated on my items. When I reported this, management showed no concern - no apology, no assistance, and no offer of compensation. They wouldn't even remove the unauthorized lock for me and when I was trying to dispose of the items that had been damaged due to someone urinating on them, they gave me a hard time about throwing them out in the trash cans out front. Since then, things have only been going downhill. Initially, I chose this storage facility because of the security and condition of the property; the main area had been secured by roller doors, which could not be accessed without a code. After the roller doors opened, there was then a gate in place. The building was clean and in good condition, which is not the case now. The roller doors have been inoperable for at least three years, and the gates have been inoperable for at least a year - creating an unsecured facility where people can come and go at will. The lack of roller doors also allows pigeons to roost in the rafters. This has resulted in excessive droppings and feathers throughout the property including on the carts that are used to move belongings to and from your car, creating unsanitary conditions that you inevitably bring into your vehicle and home. It is disgusting. I raised these concerns in writing, but nothing was addressed. The office staff appeared indifferent, responding with rehearsed dismissive answers rather than showing any genuine effort to help or even basic empathy. When I advised them that I was going to close all of my units, there was no attempt to retain my business or address any of these issues which speaks volumes about how they value customers. Additionally, although this facility is in disarray, they continue to raise prices. The rent on the last unit I rented increased after three months. This place is clean as can be - has wide hallways - free carts - excellent security - fair pricing / no contracts - u go month to month. Yesterday La Toya showed us exactly which bins we could have and she was patient, kind, and communicated everything perfectly. You can access your bin with the key they give you and get into the bldg with a code. There is a vestibule out front so if it's raining you're safe. We are paying a pro rated amount for the rest of June and 139 a month thereafter - we went w autopay to our credit card - they do give a 5 day grace period as well. A-1 business - no bull / honest people.

When I tried to put my review on their Facebook "write a review" page I was blocked. I have rented a storage unit...and even 2, for 3 years at the Davie, FL facility. Please read the contract VERY carefully. They claim to not be responsible for rodent damage among other things. I moved all of my belongings into a unit 3 years ago, I never expected it to be that long. I moved into a new place on 12/16 so excited to have my own place again and my heart broke when I saw my things in my storage unit. My belongings were ruined. Though my clothes and purses were eaten by "rodents" and covered in feces...Management advised THAT is not covered by insurance. Fortunately, my unit also had a roof leak and THAT damage is covered. Though this storage facility will "lock you out" for non-payment after day five...I have been advised my insurance claim reimbursement can take months. No bed, no furniture and having to throw away 30 years worth of treasures...heartbreaking. If that isn't enough...I was advised that I need to remove the ruined things from the storage unit before the end of the month to not incur additional fees. Please be careful who you do business with. While I was shopping for a unit the others in the area told me "don't go there, you get what you pay for"...I was a single mother who learned a hard lesson. It is now 10 days later and I have submitted my claim, which I was told would be expedited and I have heard from no one. Today I contacted my local management and was told "they are probably closed for the holidays". Very nice! Do people not even acknowledge inconvenience? To date I have paid more than $7,000. to store my belongings. Be careful and aware! Update: it has now been almost 3 weeks since my loss. I paid insurance, had coverage and this company will not respond to any inquiries nor have I been contacted by their insurance company. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and will need to obtain legal assistance.
