This place is a joke. I came to this facility after renting a unit off Champa Street that was filled with smelly homeless people, incorrectly assuming that it would cater to a different audience. And to some degree that was true, but it has its own separate set of obstacles. Where I for the most part avoid the homeless population, this area in particular is more passive-aggressive in showing that it isn't an area where minorities are welcome. Throughout the day an army of Karens routinely patrols the perimeter of the facility, making it their business to see who's coming & going. Inside of the facility itself you'll experience individuals looking inside of your locker to see exactly what you're doing & what sort of items are inside of it. Colorado law stipulates that after 30 days of non-payment, your items will be auctioned, which the staff happily does quite often. If you ever wanted to experience immediate post-segregation tactics played out in real time, where the local residents made you feel so uncomfortable about being in an area they obviously didn't want you in, this is the spot for you. Colorado seems to be stuck in 2nd gear, and the year 1956 & this location is further evidence of that. read more

They change rates anytime they want to as long as they give you 30 days notice . So dont fall for the "affordable prices" they lock you in this way, and then raise the rent read more

1. The cost of my unit is rising too quickly to be justified by current inflation, job numbers, or any another legitimate economic variable. From August 2024-October 2025, the cost of my unit has increased by 42%. 2. The advertised prices don't include insurance until you sign the lease contract, which increases the cost significantly. It should be pro-rated and included in the upfront price. 3. Whenever I visit my unit, there are usually no carts available. And when they are, they're always in extremely poor condition--almost unusable. 4. The facility hours are limited to 9:30 am-6:00 pm. The typical work day spans 9:00 am-5:00 pm, leaving very little margin to access units outside of these hours. 5. The exterior entrance doors should open automatically with a badge or fob. Same goes for the overly-narrow interior entrance door. Customers are typically making frequent trips from their vehicle to their unit while they're CARRYING items. Why are we forced to set down our burdens to manually input entrance codes twice each way? It's almost as if Public Storage is deliberately placing barriers in the way of its customers to discourage them from accessing (or emptying) their storage units. I needed to access my unit one time when I was short on funds (in order to access the unit myself) and instead of turning me away he took the time to confirm I had a unit, make note of my situation, and allowed me to access my unit. Public Storage in Colorado is a huge rip-off in my experience. I have two units in Loveland and I'm paying $300+ more per month per unit than someone moving in today for the same unit types. DO NOT RENT FROM PUBLIC STORAGE. Look at the Facebook threads calling out this practice -- they keep citing "market comp price adjustments." Feel free to join the countless Facebook Pages/Groups dedicated to this horrible excuse for a company. Everyone from Public Storage has lied to me about how they operate, and how they price people. Their call center told me rate increases happen "maybe once a year." I've lost count of how many I've received this year alone, including last month. Public Storage raised my unit from 165 to 408 in one year. That is a 147 percent increase. Their late fees are 65, every little thing is a fee, and they change the price whenever they want with a one month notice. I've had my storage broken into twice. The first time was because they only have chicken wire on the roof and anyone with a ladder can access any unit if they have an 8' ladder. The second time was because I was running multiple loads and the elevator got stuck. I couldn't get back up to close my unit before the doors locked and the manager on duty said he would put a lock on it for me. I came back the next morning and had items stolen again. After contacting the district manager David he was going to followup with the manager to see what happened. He never followed up with me again after that and stopped responding to my calls/text. I did not get the insurance through Public Storage because..just look at the reviews, they don't pay out. The only path I had was to file an insurance claim on my side which would greatly increase all my insurance premiums. The price has also tripled in the last 2 years for the unit since they don't have a cap on monthly price increases. I am writing this all while on hold for 20 minutes to cancel my unit. TLDR: Use GreenBox. It is a BURDEN to store your things at this location. Here's why: 1) Strict & Limited Access to your things/move-in: You only have access to your possessions during their business hours. This is nuts!! 2) Dollys: You have to go around to the office, give them your ID, and then spend time sitting on the floor trying to master lock to free the dolly from chains. 3) Doors: Low Clearance. 4) Doors: TIME CONSUMING AND LOW CLEARANCE: You have to enter your code for the main door, and then enter your code gain for the door to the storage units! I understand the first door - but to have to enter your code AGAIN for the second door is unessary and time consuming. Not only do you waste YOUR time, it'll burn the clock up with your movers. 4) No Loading Docs I did not know any of this when I rented my unit online. Never, ever, ever, again will I use Public Storage. I did not have any of these problems with GreenBox. What a mistake I made using this location/Public Storage. The only good things I can say about this place is that he staff is nice, they keep the place clean, and they check your locks and alert you if your lock isn't on right. read more

RAISED PRICES 30% AFTER 4 MONTHS Absolutely avoid if you're storing items long-term. I was shocked to find this facility raise my price on a 10x10 unit from $125 to $162 per month after just 4 months. This wasn't the end of some promotional deal. That was a nominally advertised price. I called to complain about this. The lady I spoke to said they adjust for market conditions... that's bs as I checked - while a similar unit went up a bit to $142, that's still considerably less than what they're shafting me with. When I pointed this out she said someone would reach out with 3 days to discuss a reduction in this extra upcharge. That never happened. After some googling I've found this is a common practice w/ Public Storages - which I've used many times in the past and never had this happen. Unfortunately I'm out of the area and can't move my belongings for at least a few months... I will never use this company again. Shame on them. read more

This is such an insanely inconvenient place to store your stuff. If you have any need for it a millisecond after their asinine operating hours you can expect to be told to go f**k yourself by the crusty staff. "Ooohh it's for securrrrity" well hire some security people to watch the place for the two hours past 5-6pm since you can't pay your staff to stay a minute longer. This isn't Europe people work all day. This is long BUT please read it! Avoid this location!!I know you might be thinking "it's just a yelp review"‍. Please take a moment to read all of the reviews because the ones that are the actual customers all align with similar experiences. Pretty certain the "positive" ones are fake ones/paid reviews. When calling around places to find a storage unit I chose Public Storage. I chose public storage due to having a prior positive experience. The experience was positive due to being able to access my unit during times that worked for my schedule. Additionally, there was unrestricted access to utilizing the dollies. However, with this particular Public Storage they do not disclose to you that when the office closes it means the WHOLE place closes & then you cannot access your belongings. Yes the place is clean but so are other public storage locations. In order for you to use a dollie you have to provide the front desk staff with either an ID, your phone or you keys. Once you provide staff with this you can be provided a key to then unlock the dollies. When going there in a Sunday to put things into storage...at 5pm you cannot literally could access your unit, your code will not work to go to your unit if you're in the elevator when the Buisness closes, you're unable to access your unit as your code will not work. There were 4 others who were also very seemingly surprised by this happening as evidenced by one individual having things in a hallway of their unit and being unable to access it, others stuck with a plethora of items that they thought could go into storage. *when the front desk staff was asked why we all were unable to access our units the response was "it's for security". Let me tell you...they lock this place up like it's the White House...anything that requires for you code will not be accessible to you past their undisclosed hours of operation. If you're a working professional...good luck with accessing your unit. It's not for "security@ it's because this location is cheap and more than likely understaffed so instead of being upfront with customers the office staff conveniently do not disclose important information. When signing up for this particular location- the individual on the phone did not disclose this information notes in this review. The website when you sign up online does not specifically note this information when signing the contract. The loop hole they have is in the contract you sign and it's - the business hours listed at the individual sites are what determines when you can access. The issue with this....if you're signing up online and this information doesn't get disclosed to you then you do not know. Additionally I chose this business because on google it said it was open until "10pm". This is an unprofessional and shady business tactic. 0/10 would not recommend this site at all unless you live in the apartments within walking distance or have a WFH job. If I could rate half of a star that's what this location would get due to their shady business tactics for this location. I should have looked at the yelp reviews before signing up with this location...it makes moving an even more stressful experience. Echoing what others have said about the staff being on smoke breaks CONSTANTLY, they quite literally YELL at you if you show up to retrieve your own property any time within 1.5-2 hours before they close (can we also talk about how stupid their hours of operation are??), screaming from the office at their customers "WE CLOSE AT 5". I wonder what the signs that show your hours are posted for then, if you're just going to announce to anyone who is there well within your hours what they are? Hmm. Elevators WREAK of smoke constantly. They up your "rent" monthly, to the point where we started by paying about $75 for a relatively small unit and are now coughing up $100+. We have been in this unit for less than a year and the rent has gone up 3 times. Also,the door sticks so badly that I can't open it on my own and both my husband and myself have injured our backs trying to get into it. We asked for it to be fixed and were told that we had to fix it ourselves! We attempted to do so and it still didn't work so we requested a different unit. We were then told that we couldn't get a different unit because 'they're all like that'. It's impossible to get in/out for YOUR things because it must be within business hours. Their business hours are your business hours, good luck. If you are in the middle of moving things and closing hour hits, you will be locked out. Staff is not helpful in the least and can't make any exceptions to this. It's locked down like a bank vault. You need to put your code in over and over multiple times to make it into your unit. Overall it's just a pain and defeats the purpose of having personal storage if you can't even get to it when you need to. Pick anything else. read more

The day I moved in, the female who was working the front desk was completely rude and did not help one bit. She had this extremely dismissive attitude. Like I was bothering her with my questions and trying to check in. The male that was at the desk as well seemed to have no backbone. He did not offer any assistance or even jumped in to help. He acted like, "It's not my problem, I'll let her handle it." What a Turd! So, as I was checking in, I wanted to move to a larger space. The female didn't know how to make the transfer. She had to call someone and still couldn't do the transfer. So, she had me cancel the current reservation on the app and complete another reservation. When I completed it. I lost the $1 first month rent because she said that since I canceled the reservation, I was no longer a "new customer." What bullshit! I told her that it was unfair and that she told me to cancel the reservation because she didn't know how to transfer me to a larger space. Then I asked here if I could speak to Tim, the very first person I spoke to before making the reservation online. She said that, "he moved to New York and that Denver just wasn't his thing anymore." So I asked if someone could help with getting my money back for administration fees for the first canceled reservation. She just wrote a number on a post-it note and said, "Call finance." My whole check in prosses was horrible and stressful. I even asked to have a manager contact me about all of this. I have yet to speak to someone. This is absolutely unacceptable! I do want to say that I did meet Emily and Wynona. They are two very nice people that were helpful and kind. Emily has since tried to speak to management to see about getting me that $1 for one month promotion. No joy on that. It just shows me that they could give a shit about their employees as well. The only thing I can say is, don't store your things here. The business completely sucks! But Emily and Wynona are awesome. Those two deserve 5 stars for being so kind and helpful. Maybe a gift card each from management. Yeah, like that's going to happen. I hope someone reads this and sees how messed up their business is going. If it wasn't for those two sweet ladies I'm pretty sure I would have just packed my stuff up and went somewhere else. read more

I reserved a unit online, received the text messages with codes and unit number. When I got there, I watched unsavory characters lurking about the doors waiting to slip in when customers exited. Upon entering the building, I was told there would be a red tab on my unit and lock located inside. I located my unit and when I approached there was no tab on the unit, I opened the unit to find it was stuffed and packed full with items and trash... I couldn't even open the door completely cause it was so packed with trash and other items. I immediately asked for a refund and to have my contract canceled only 45 minutes after signing it. Avoid renting from here, unsafe and dangerous building/location. read more

Hands down the best customer service, value, and location. I was worried about having to put all my things in storage while I was waiting for my new lease to start, but Public Storage made it really easy. The facility is clean, secure, and easy to use. The units are temperature controlled and vary depending on how much room you need. We were excited that they also had a one month promotional deal. The staff were super helpful and flexible with our start date since we were moving my boyfriend across country and plans changed due to weather. The staff also let us check out different sized units the day we were signing since we realized we had more stuff than we thought. We were really appreciative that there were lots of free carts so that we could easily move our things from the truck. Great experience, highly recommend! read more

Retired veteran relocated to Aurora. Stored my possessions in the facility at 1710 Abilene st aurora. On move out day discovered unit burglarized all possessions gone. Personal data, retirement info tax records, medical records all my clothes and memories from my 20yrs years of service and items left to me by deceased relatives. My unit was inside on the 3rd floor which requires coded access to enter bldg and elevator. On site manager whom sleeps there gives me a company generated report for claims and police report stating that theft had to occur after hours overnight . The claims company gave me the run around for 2 months then tells me that my lifetime possessions after serving this country for 20 Honorable years were valued at $0.How insulting!*%! This company will be spotlight on the news on Veterans Day by local Problem Solvers. That lack of accountability and respect ends now. I advise all unsatisfied clients to enact a class action against this company and individual facilities and their owners. read more

Well, almost all of my possessions were just stolen from my unit at this Public Storage location, so that should tell you everything you need to know. Some "tweakers" strolled right in, broke into my unit, unloaded my possessions at a nearby dumpster in broad daylight, and walked away with thousands of dollars worth of property, all while Management was on the clock. They popped the lock the facility forced me buy-- even though I had my own lock from another Public Storage that I used for 3+ years without incident. There are multiple security cameras that are are just for show, or have never even been activated, and even though they apparently called the cops on these crackheads for lingering, management never put 1 and 2 together that all the random items they walked away with were from a unit. My unit. I wish I'd learned the details above from Management, but the worst part in all of this was that I also had to incur the cost of flying in and handling everything on my own. Had I not insisted to look at the video, identified the thieves, and seen on camera where they'd ravaged and stolen my stuff, I might not have found some of my items hidden behind the dumpster two days later. Deplorable. This has been one of the most deplorable, frustrating, and costly experiences of my life. On Yelp you typically see people speak towards poor customer service or below-par facilities, but I am Yelping because I was robbed at this facility, and they did nothing to protect my property or retrieve it. If you value any of the belongings you're looking to store, then store them somewhere else. read more

I'd give zero stars if possible. I was told when I signed up there was a special running on the unit. The guy on the phone told me usually there's a price increase on the units, but because I was signing up that week, I would not have a price increase on my unit while I was renting from the company. This was in February the price then was $70 a month. Now we're in July and I'm getting bills that are $119 a month plus insurance. I've spoken with the customer service line 3 times about this. I've been informed each time that they would pass this recording up to their manager, and I would be called back. A manager has never called me back. I've called and asked to speak with a manager because I was getting frustrated. I was informed that this is not an option. They would have to email the manager and the manager would have to call me back. I have already reached out to an attorney because this is bait and hook. Seriously fuck public storage. read more

I despise Yelp reviews but this place is so bad I had to. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. If there are any reviews above 1-Star don't listen to them. If you enjoy strict hours and inconveniences, this is the place for you! The entire building, not just the office, closes at 6pm on week nights and 5pm on Sundays. So, if you work or have an all day move, DO NOT USE THIS STORAGE. Probably the only storage unit in the history of storage units that makes you remember a 9 digit entry code that you can't use past a certain time. Office people were nice at least and will kindly tell you to F off once closing hours hit. The management/owners/Public Storage are running a racket at this location.
