At the end of the day this place gets the job done. I mean.. it stores stuff and it's temperature controlled so nothing melts or warps or gets wet! And I've never had an issue getting in or out. The dude downstairs is always helpful when I forget the number of my unit (I know, sorry). But he's really cool and willing to assist and overall I feel safe here, which is nice, because visiting a storage unit alone almost always feels akin to a scene from a horror movie. "Why are you going in there alone?" "Why are you turning down that dark scary hallway?" The elevator is kind of scary and old and the flickering fluorescent lights are a bit unnerving, but all seems relatively well and safe here. Sure, I'm used to living in the suburbs. But I still feel like it's not terribly convenient to have a storage unit off a big busy street with meter parking (maybe you get a spot right out front, maybe not) when you're trying to pick up heavy boxes of stuff and get them to your car. They have dollys and all, but it's still odd to me to be wheeling personal items down Broadway to your car. Keep in mind they have standard biz hours so you can't make any late night stops! read more

I selected 12 Broadway Self Storage after checking out a few of the other bigger, newer facilities-- the ones that offer those catchy move-in deals "First month free!", but when you read the fine print its totally bogus because all they do is give you a discount off your rent over several months and you are forced to pay a bunch of other BS fees (admin fees, make you buy insurance, purchase their overpriced locks, etc.). So when I came upon Broadway Self Storage the guys were totally straight, no hidden fees, no BS. Broadway arranged the whole move for me. The manager even came down to help my movers unload an apartments worth of stuff into the unit. We were able to park in the alley and there was a large freight elevator that opened directly from the alley. The place had plenty of carts and dollys to assist with the move. I barely lifted a finger because between my movers and Zach, the manager, they had it covered and everything was moved in in less than 30 minutes! The unit is big, hallways are well lit, its clean and well ventilated. I pay a very reasonable monthly rate. Every time I come in I am greeted and the staff is super helpful. I also love the fact I am supporting a local, family-owned business. I highly recommended this place! read more

We thought this would work well because it was close to our old place but this storage unit should not be located where it is and it needs to be updated badly. It's in the middle of a stretch of pubs and restaurants, so if you're moving on a Saturday, you'll run into drunk people peeing and puking in the alley. There is no designated parking so you have to cross your fingers that you can park in the alley if no one else is moving that day, and if you can't, you'll have to illegally park and block traffic. I think this storage unit is probably best for small businesses that just need a place to put their items, but I do not think this works well for homeowners or renters. I had called to ask if there was designated parking and the guy on the phone said yes, but the movers' truck didn't fit in the alley so we had to block traffic to unload. There should be specifications on their website on what kinds of trucks they should fit, and they should find a way to designate parking for trucks to unload (and maybe an appointment system for unloading). Also, the building has a really old elevator that takes forever to use. And, the sizes of the storage unit aren't exactly right. They say "1 or 2 bedroom size" for some units - but it did not fit the stuff from our 2 bedroom condo - and this was just furniture! They need to edit the descriptions to underestimate so we do not have to do a last minute shuffle to a different unit or pay for a second unit. If you are a renter or homeowner looking to store your items for a little while, I highly highly recommend going with Uhaul instead. If you use their truck, they will waive first month's storage fees - and the locations are vastly better. read more

Honored to be part of the long line of Yelp Denver Community Managers to review this particular storage unit (but for real, how rad are my predecessors/coworkers?)! I decided to give the Yelp storage unit a little early spring cleaning this past weekend, because there IS such a thing as too much schwag (especially if it's from 2014). I echo past CMs in saying this unit gets the job done--it stores things securely and keeps it out of my living room, which is major. My thoughts (the good, the bad, and the scary)-- Good things: -- It's cheap. For about $100 bucks a month, you get yourself the sweet, sweet satisfaction of a home without clutter (read: Yelp schwag). -- There's a dumpster out back (it's locked, but the gentleman up front can unlock it) and big bin do donate old clothes. This came in handy during the clean out sesh. -- There's a loading zone on Broadway (and for big tasks, a back alley) to make loading in and out a little easier. Bad things: -- The elevator. I've always been a little skeptical of the elevator, but I figured I'd use it this time since I was moving so many things. Before I had a chance to use it, though, it literally broke WHILE PEOPLE WERE IN IT. A couple became stuck in the elevator and said a piece of wood broke off while they were trying to get it upstairs. They had tons of things to do load out and had to schlep it all down a flight of stairs. Guess who won't be using that elevator again? -- There's no actual lights inside of the units, so have your iPhone flash light ready! -- Would love if there was recycling nearby. I have lots of boxes to break down, and it's a pain to take them home to recycle. read more

I have a lot of stuff that needs to be stored. Things like a 10x10 tent for festivals, boxes of schwag, funny costumes from multiple photo booths... the list goes on and on. And since Sir Nicholas doesn't like our living room to look like we are always moving I had to get a storage unit. I initially choose Broadway Self Storage based simply on location and price. But I do really enjoy some of the things they offer like the use of a dolly and freight elevator if you are on upper floors or the ability to have them accept your packages AND put them in your storage unit as long as they have a key. The hours are kind of like traditional businesses so if you need late night access you should probably go with another space. But my 5 x 11 space is under $100 and I I didn't have to sign any sort of lease or contract so I'm definitely happy with this place for storing my stuff. All the units are temperature controlled so nothing gets too hot or cold. That's very nice. And you can set up an auto payment every month so you don't even have to think about the unit other than when you are swinging by to grab whatever you need - whether that's a fluffy pink heart or a box of Yelp totes... read more

This storage facility defines the purpose of utilizing independently owned, community based local businesses. I've been a tenant here for a couple years now and must say Zack and Dan really run a great operation here. It's a far more personal experience vs. the stale corporate big box storage nazis popping up all over town. Here you find a clean facility, and familiar friendly faces who go the extra mile to make their customers feel like much more than just a unit #. The convenient alley access and optional mail boxes on-site make it an ideal one-stop-Shop for the budding small business needing extra space, the big boys with big toys, transplants in transition, stash-it-all needs, or a safe place for package deliveries without having to break the bank on porch home monitoring. These guys are resourceful, helpful, understanding, accommodating and just all around swell guys whom compose one of the nifty lil pieces of the Baker community, contributing to its genuinely unique and desirable identity. 12 Broadway Self Storage is the solution to avoiding the red tape and sterility of the corporate row-boxes with forced purchase of proprietary locks and an unwritten goal of increased revenue by outrageous fees, ridiculous terms and lack of a heartbeat. Have you ever opened the door to a storage unit that was stacked to the ceiling with sweatbands, beer koozies, chapstick and bouncy balls? I have. The Yelp storage unit is in a really convenient location in Baker. I can get down the on the bus and getting to event from there is a relatively inexpensive cab ride. With a studio apartment, I don't really have the space to keep everything I need for every event at my place, so it's nice to be able to take it all back to the locker at the end of the day. I don't really think there's anything that sets it heads about the rest though. The staff doesn't really need to do much, so they really don't, unless you ask for help, then they're pretty nice. My two biggest gripes are the lights and the elevator. Tiffany N and Kimberly I know how I feel about that freight elevator. It's one of those old timey, rickety elevators where you have guess at the elevator being even with the floor and the gates and doors also make me really nervous. The lights are something that only recently bothered me while I was trying to do some rearranging to fit more stuff into the unit. I was there for about an hour, but the light sensor is around the corner, so every 15 minutes, the whole floor would go dark and I would have to stumble out of the unlit storage unit and walk around the corner to reactivate the motion sensor lights. It would just be really nice if that didn't happen all the time. But, you know, overall, it's a place where I can put stuff that I really have no space for elsewhere and it is certainly not awful. Great place, great personal! Recently I moved to a smaller apartment and had to rent a 10X10 unit. I am very happy that I chose this storage! They were very helpful and accommodating. I am a small woman and was struggeling to move some of my furniture. For the first time in my life storage personal actually helped me to move stuff into the unit (throughout my life I have rented storage units handful of times)! I am very grateful to all of them for great service and of course for reasonable prices! read more

Stored some of my stuff here for about 3 months while moving out of state. Staff was cool. My storage unit was a good size and inexpensive. Helpful elevator and carts. The only problem was that parking on Broadway is rough much of the day. To reliably get a good spot have to get there in the morning between 8:30am and about 11am or so. Can use the back alley as well but this seemed too cramped for me. I'd use these guys again given the opportunity. read more

Utilized their storage last October. Glad I did. The two guy that were there totally accommodating. clear. relaxed. Cost wasn't too bad for the unit I got, especially considering how centrally located in Denver. Use of that manually controlled freight elevator and sliding scissor gate door was easy. kind of fun! lol If I had to pick one unfortunate hassle about renting here, it's the driving, parking and maneuvering around this facility. so tightly nestled between Broadway and Lincoln , it can be a nightmare if you're trying to move at the WRONG times of the day. Be mindful about rush hours and just plan accordingly. Yes I will likely rent with these guys again next time I move. read more

I just rented my second storage unit from these guys and and couldn't be happier with the exceptional level of customer service that I have received from Zach each time. He was pretty busy at the counter assisting several customers whom had just happened to arrive at the same time but but nonetheless was quick, efficient, friendly and offered me extremely fair prices for both of the units that I am renting. The facilities are clean, secure, easy to access and they also provide an abundance of dolly's and carts to make every item move in and out of storage as smooth and easy as possible. I love how they also offer shipping/packaging supplies, key making and many other services that could come in handy in a pinch since our shop is located nearby. Zach you absolutely rock!!! Picture this, Condo is sold we need to be out by 4pm. Low life "special ops movers" 5 hours late then bait and switch price. U haul rented with 3 hours to be out of Condo then to Broadway storage for remaining belongings, we arrive at 4:30 and they close at 6:30. All of this in 5 degree temps, snow ,ice, and getting dark. We see it slipping away, there is no way my husband and I can do this in 2 hours. That is until Zach steps in and helps. That is until he says don't worry we will get it done. No it wasn't 2 hrs he worked with us for 4 hrs. He would not take a dime( I hope you enjoy the gift certificate for sushi). After dealing with such unscrupulous movers this young man restored our faith in goodness. All we can say is thank you from the bottom of pour heart, and we hope wonderful things for you. We rented a 10x10 storage space for about 5 years. We needed extra storage so we wanted a clean, convenient and safe inside storage that we can stop by as needed. The place is very friendly, professional, clean and most of all, very accommodating. It has an alley access,a freight elevator, carts/dollies available and just near I-25. Also, it's not a huge facility so all the spaces are pretty convenient to the exits. It's a family owned business and it shows. The day we moved out, our movers double booked and bailed on us and the owner's son offered to help us move! We strongly recommend Broadway Self Storage 12 !!! read more
