I was so happy with this place. When I signed up, they helped me and were so kind. They even told me that rate increases would occur every few months of $5 or so. I loved the heads up. But today I just got an email stating a $40/month increase and I don't know what to do! Now I have to find a new place and no one is willing to help me. What a bait and switch! Price online is shown, yet not available. When you call, "oh sorry, that one just went". However, they keep the ad up for same price to try and sell you one for over $100 more. We reached out again, this time stopping in there in person. Yes! Unit is available! We were shown the unit and told a $5 higher price than online.No idea why when we showed them the ad online. No real answer. Yet somehow it was suddenly available. However, when we saw the unit, it had a door on front and door on back with access to it. Nice, but that back door had a lock on it. So we were told we could only use the one door with our lock (we'd buy through them). Well.... whose lock is on the back side of the unit then? Who will also have access to our unit?? She couldn't give an answer and called her boss to let them know we wanted to understand better. Suddenly, that same unit was not available to us. Today, (one day later), I see the same unit for rent online at their low quoted price. What a crock. Save your time and money and go to another storage business. read more

I've stored at several places in NY before I moved to FL. The usual standard is being lured in at a low rate and increasing as the year progresses. I get that but the PS at 3350 SW 10th Street Deerfield Beach, FL 33442 has some issues causing me to go elsewhere. Someone stole their carts. I was told they will have new carts by the end of the month, 3 weeks away. I asked for a discount and was told that the contract states the carts are a curtesy. The gateway - non operative for some time being left open to compensate. I've seen water in the building during heavy rains. I've delt with other Public Storage facilities and not have any of these associated problems. That being said I'm moving out to another PS with the hope and faith it will be a better experience. On the positive, the people are always nice and helpful. BTW, me renting is a curtesy as well. One this particular facility will no longer have. read more

Yep, I chose this location because I had problems with the manager at the sample road location who was very nasty to me. The price is not bad, however with this location I had problems with the lock which they include in the contract without a choice. There is not an option to choose if I have a lock or not. I was reading the reviews and there are so many complaints about this. I also read reviews from lawyers saying that they make a lot of money in commissions from the lock. I don't have time to be there before 6pm to get a refund either. I work 7 days a week from 7am to 7pm. The insurance is another subject with public storage. I have 10 Christmas boxes, I mean for $15 a month I can decorate my whole house with Christmas stuff. Ridiculous!! That should be an option too. The girl at this location was not nice with me when we spoke about it either. But I have to say that not as BAD as the manager at the sample rd location. You move in and they keep bumping the rate every couple of months. After 1 year I was paying nearly double what I came in at. Terrible hours. When you move out they insist you pay the entire calendar month so if you move out on Jan 3, have fun paying the whole month of January. You would think for all that money (that is clearly not going to maintaining the property) that you could at least access a garbage can or skiff while you are there. You would be wrong. And if you happen to leave any scrap that requires someone to pick something up, sweep, etc you will be charged for it. read more

I emptied the unit by Nov 3 but yet was going to be charged for the entire month because I was not out by Oct 31st. Lost $10k worth of marine electronics due to theft. Someone broke into my boat in this secure facility, cameras all around and stripped my boat right under management's nose. They took GPS, instrument panel, dive racks, ladder brackets, hatches, etc. thinking about all that was taken makes me believe this was an inside job. Management was so unhelpful that wouldn't give up the videos unless it was specifically requested by the police. Can't believe they have no liability for anything under contract. read more

I had a bad experience the first day I rented and the manager didn't show up to meet me. (i think she quit ). Then when I signed up they said it is a "rule" that I have to buy their insurance unless I bring my homeowners policy in to opt out. Then after 3 months my rent is magically raised.Ridiculous. I am visiting my brother in Deerfield Beach and notice his brand new bar stool has chew holes in the cloth seat. Turns out the rats got to them while in storage for 6 months. Because he was on the first floor they recommended he get insurance which covers up to $10,000. What he didn't read in the fine print was that for rodent damage they only pay $250 max .There were plenty of rat droppings left in many of the boxes as evidence. So that's the scoop. Poorly maintained and rent goes up every year for no reason--that's the short version. I've been a customer here for six years and when something breaks, it takes a very long time before it is fixed, whether it is a gate, a garage door, or an elevator. In fact, the out gate has been broken literally the entire six years I have been there...they're like, screw it, we'll use the in gate for both in and out. If you're new to self-storage, a few things you should know: 1) "air-conditioned" means to the extent they can't be held liable for your stuff getting damaged by heat, not that you will be cool moving in or out or getting something you need from your unit; it's usually 75 or 76 in there according to their own thermometers 2) "first month free" means they bill you at the end of the month, not the beginning; you're not actually getting anything free 3) the 8x10 unit I moved into at $175 per month now costs $230 per month, not because they provide any more or better service or even because their costs have increased, but because they know they can cash in on your reluctance to move all your stuff. 4) places that allow 24-hour access don't charge any more than places places that restrict your access...I can't get to my stiff between 9pm and 6am. I'm giving two stars because I do have a place to store an apartment's worth of stuff and with two exceptions in the years I have had it there, I have been able to access the unit during the operating hours. However, a complete lack of any of any ethics. Their business practices are exploitative. read more

Hi. Went there to check out our prospective storage unit. We were received by Jimmie. He showed us the unit and we knew right away that it would be too small for our needs. Went back to the office and Jimmie went to work for us! He checked with other Public Storage locations and ultimately found us a bigger unit(met our needs) at about the same rate we were quoted for the original and smaller unit. 2 storage units for over a year and no issues. The people were friendly, the place was clean (not even a roach in a year), no leaks, good drainage in bad weather, Good lighting at night, gates always locked and opened with code. I always felt safe there, even at night. I did not witness any vandalism or theft personally. The only drawback was that after a year of regular price increases, it got a little pricey, but if the need would arise, I would definitely rent there again. read more
