BEWARE!! If there was a 0 star option I would definitely select that instead of 1!! These public storages are run from a kiosk and you will never be able to get ahold of anyone on the phone! I've been trying to reach out for the past 6 weeks in a response to cancel out my unit from December 4th and they have yet to answer me or stop my automated payments. I requested them to stop my service multiple times and they completely disregard the request. They finally answered me 6 weeks after and then I was told I needed to cut my lock off for them to stop it after I expressed I moved out of state in December and called in and relayed that message (was never told that I needed to cut lock off or requested that service) continued to charge me $515 a month. I've called the customer service and they just route you to the "property management voice mail" and we will NEVER get a response back. I've used multiple storage facilities and never have had any issues like this before. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GO WITH A LOCAL COMPANY THAT ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT PROPER COMMUNICATION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

Do not use! They make it so difficult to move in and out. You have to enter a code to get thru each of 2 separate doors every time you pass through. when doing a large move this is so ridiculous. I understand security but this is beyond common sense. For 3 hours I have to go between two doors and put in a code every time the movers pass through. Never again will I use this company. read more

It's ok and it's not something I want to get involved in again. Made an appointment to come and look at a unit and while looking at the unit got a call from the guy inside the place asking when we would show up and look at the unit. His attitude and way he spoke with us wasn't too pleasant and it left a bad taste in our mouths to where I decided not to get the unit. Let alone the unit they wanted to rent had two bay doors leading into it and it would have to have two separate locks and the door way were too small. It helped safe me a lot and actually got me thinking that why on earth would I rent something to pay monthly to store stuff that isn't worth it to store. So we've decided to donate most of the stuff and sell off the rest and save the monthly cost for something more worth while. read more

Beware: 1- The advertised and agreed upon rent is guaranteed to go up at least 150% within the first couple of months. They never mention this at start of Rent Agreement. Could get really expensive. 2- They advertise climate controlled units. In actuality, the humidity in the "climate controlled" units can go as high as 70% which completely defeats the purpose. Mold is inevitable at those humidity levels. read more

Been renting there 10 mos, Put in a work order within first month of renting to fix one of the exterior doors that had the missing bar to keep door open while loading/unloading. Also made same request in person a few months ago. No repair has been made and I just received my third price increase. I'll be moving out before the increase takes effect in 3 wks. read more

If you are looking for a storage unit. I would never EVER use this place. I stupidly stored some belongings there. while I vacated the premises, noticed huge cockroaches the size of my foot coming from other units as well and when I opened adjacent units in their facilities. This is the filthiest storage facility I have seen. I also have storage at extra space storage in Fort Lauderdale . They, extra space storage, have kept it so clean you would never know you had left belongings in there for over a year or more. Again do not throw away your money here unless you want to bring with you an infestation of cockroaches and who knows what else. Yes, it's a kind of a bad review, but let's face it it's just a storage unit. There's nothing they do for you. They just give you a garage and put your stuff in. Yes, the prices have gone up ridiculously in the last few years, but so is everything else in life. There is no customer service. You rent a unit you put a lock on it and if you pay your rent every month, you can come in and out as you please. If you don't pay they lock it on you, so I don't understand the reviews about people complaining about getting locked out. Because that's the only reason. My issue is the lack of security. This past weekend in February 2023, they had a breaking of over 50 units. It was overnight. Yes they have cameras but it just seems that if an abnormal time. Sees activity somebody should look at the cameras. I know my cameras at my house send me a notification. It seems like if there's overnight activity somebody should've gotten a notification just to make sure things are as should be. It's not like they broken during the day. This was in the middle of the night. Just beware that there is no security that's worth anything. I've never had an issue with bugs but that's south Florida and I really got pissed off because when I went to deal with this breaking of my unit, the fat guy in the office is giving me a lecture on what shouldn't shouldn't be kept in the storage unit. That's the last thing I wanted to hear. just as a human being you think they have a little more compassion and dealing with a break in with the customer. Not lecturing. it's a storage unit. What do they think I'm gonna put in the unit, empty boxes? My expectation for customer service is low because there's no reason for customer service. As long as you pay your rent, they let you into your unit. Pretty simple but security is something else there should be better security more awareness during the after hour periods, but they just don't care. bottom line is don't put anything in there that can't be replaced. And by the way, had someone been monitoring it they would've realized something was wrong because they cut the locks off of 50 units and they somebody should've been looking at the video considering it was a breaking in the middle of the night. I'm sure the number of people that go there in the middle of the night is minimal. read more

I've used this facility for the past 2+ years. Both personal unit and a business unit. The rate goes up ALL THE TIME! It's filthy and infested with bugs. I report it to the workers they say they are going to clean it but they don't. All these photos are from bugs and pests from ONE hallway. PUBLIC STORAGE needs to do better. Stop raising the prices and clean your facility. read more

I booked the storage unit online and it was super easy to set up. They even called to ask if I needed assistance, which I didn't and she just explained what I should expect when I arrive at the unit. The storage unit was huge and easy to access. The facility was clean and very affordable! I felt very safe going in and out as they had gates at separate entrances and each door was locked and you needed a code to get in! Definitely would recommend this facility off Boca Rio Road. read more

BE AWARE!! of sudden, unreasonable rent increases. After 4 months my rental fee increased from $386.60 to $529.31. That is a $143.71 INCREASE EQUAL TO 37%. Online, the rental fee for the very same unit is $275 per month. The customer service would not permit me to get the current rate unless I physically move my goods from one unit to another unit of the same size on the same floor. BEWARE: Rent increases of astronomical amounts with no notification. I have had 2 units there for 4 years and rent has gone up 300%. I now can not even access the units because they put this cylinder lock and they gave me no key and said it could be 30 days to remove. ok So I paid the rent $247 and made to hire a locksmith for $80 dollars to do a 1 minute job of drilling it out which was a guy they had recommeded I use. Then I put back my lock THEY SOLD ME 2 years before. I go back to move out again and they slapped the cylinder lock even though my lock with there sticker still on it saying public storage was on it. The customer service is horrible and I have not been able to move because they want me to hire the locksmith again and have no key they say. How do you put a lock on something already having a lock and have no key????? Its completely absurd. It gets worse. I rented another unit that was smaller and they put a lock on that ALSO. So I can't access either unit now. And going in talking to these people who are half brain dead make no concessions. Nothing. So Im paying over 400 a month for two sheds I can't access. Nice huh. Don't use this location unless you know the lock and get the key. They just change things all the time with no notification. So frustrating read more

Move-in is easy, in-and-out of the unit is easy and secure. A lot of measures to make our stuff secured in the unit. However, NOTE THAT if you move out in the middle of the month YOU DO NOT GET A REFUND. That is not what we were told moving in. We were told we only have to give 3 days notice. What they did not tell us is that if the charge has gone through for the month, even with 3 days notice you will not be refunded for the remainder of the month. This was a blow, because we understood that 3-day notice was all we needed. So there, be careful with this. read more

My BIG Day, I get my unit 1wk before moving day. I get to the gate and code was not working! I tried calling after hours, left property manager 5 messages and did not get a call back until the next day. Property manager returned call the next day saying "sorry for the inconvenience" what a joke!!! Bottom line... if you are havings issues "after hours" the number provided & property manager are useless. They need make themselves available for urgent matters! read more

I would give a 0/5 if I could! There was huge roaches in one of my boxes. There was about 12. It was A LOT. I have a big fear of insects and bugs and when I was holding the box with the roaches in it, I felt a weird feeling on my hand and then I took my hand out and there was a HUGE roach like it was the biggest roach I've ever seen. I thought it was just that one but when I opened the box, I was surprised with more. It was absolutely disgusting and unacceptable!! There was also weird small black things all on my items, idk what it is but it was weird. And some silverfish. My items didn't have any insects in them before I put them in storage. I understand that it's and outside storage but their job is to manage your items and make sure they're being stored properly. So it's their job to clean their facility! Also another thing I didn't like is how inconvenient the hours are. When the office is closed there's nobody to help you when you have an issue. They don't answer the phone. My code didn't work on the first day and it was crucial that it worked that day, because I was moving out of my dorm and I had to catch a train back home, the next day. I don't like leaving negative reviews but I think this is very important to mention. I am currently relocating my items from one storage company to Public Storage. I noticed it's a lot warmer in this facility then my current one. To the point where I'm sweating badly and my chest feels heavy when I leave. Today I went to drop more things off and decided to call the front desk and ask what they keep Public Storage temp at. She told me it's company policy to keep it at 80°!!! I'm not sure if Public Storage is aware of this but anything over 78° can start to grow mold. So buyer beware. If you're ok with moving your things in an 80° environment, willing to risk mold and possibly passing out then this is the place for you! On a good note, the staff is nice and there are multiple sizes to choose from. However, they, like others, just jacked me up 20% after 6 months. A substantial increase for sure. Wow this locatkiion is the worst I work for a moving company and we came to this location and the Employees are Very Rude Tiffany to be exact. It was not raining and she made us wait 45 min to show us around. My CUSTOMERS IS 62 years of age!! This is insane. And this is a new Public storage!! Something has to be done!! I came here and the employees needed help with an error with my account, the manager (Blonde hair,skinny kind of old) was talking on her phone about personal stuff while the employees asked her for help, then she gave some lame excuse that look like she didn't know what the hell she was talking about, and continue on the phone talking about her personal life. So this is the first time I've ever used public storage , and from start and (sadly) to finish , the staff at this location is absolutely phenomenal... they are incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and ALWAYS in an amazingly good mood. The new building is absolutely gorgeous , and the new security system says hello and good-bye with your name which is oddly exciting! OH! And the pricing was also incredibly fair! This was a surprisingly painless experience. Very professional staff, clean facility, no up charges from estimate provided online. I have used self-storage in four states and this was the best experience I have had. Flexible hours help as well. Another reviewer mentioned no lighting but my unit had lights that were on a timer outside the unit. You turned the dial for how long you wanted the lights on. read more

This is a large facility with plenty of storage options. The location is great; right off Boca Rio and convenient to the Turnpike. I am renting a unit here and so far everything has been straightforward in regard to accessing my stuff, parking outside the unit, etc. The only downside is that there is no lighting in the unit at all, so unless you bring a flashlight, you will have a very difficult time trying to find anything in the dark. read more

Gates do not close! Left open for hours. We checked to see what the problem was with the entry gate. The chain is getting hung up because of the overgrown bushes, and it's rusted. The exit gate gets stuck because a renter blocks it with his vehicle on purpose and sets up his trailer. The manager is aware of it, yet it still continues. Renters leave with the gates open. There are vehicles that are too long for the spaces and maneuvering is hazardous. Very disappointed with this facility. read more
