This place is the WORST! The unit I have is on the second floor but the elevator is rarely working. They have raised the price twice in 7 months and now almost doubled! They force u to buy their insurance. I feel duped. Avoid this scamming company and go with a reputable place. This place is horrible, I was late leaving the area 3 times in 2 months. Mind you late was leaving at 9:05, 9:15, 9,20 but with no warning or talking to me at all, never a phone call, email, nothing they restrict my access to there office hours. I work in SF and start at 6:00 and don't get home until 6:00. The idea of having the storage was to keep my tools somewhere. Now my tools are held hostage and I can't get to them when I need them. Great coustmer service, not! I wasn't even told about the restricted hours until I was trying to leave and the gate wouldn't open. I had to call some number to the home office. The guy on the phone said I was trespassing and was refusing to open the gate to let out. Only when I threaten to drive through the gate did he open it. I would advise going anywhere but here. I've come to learn that your rental rate is raised every 6 months no matter what. So a loyal costumer is paying way more than a new costumer, that some bs as well. I don't usually complain but this is ridiculous. I warning you go anywhere else. If I could have gave them a zero I would have. read more

After you move in, they raise your rates by 40% a year. Now they're trying to charge me 250% what they advertise online.

If you have ANY other options, please consider them before using this company and this location. There is no requirement for the company to give any notice of rent increases. They are legally allowed to increase the rent every month if they so desire. There is no method to it. If you have autopay set up, again, zero notice that a higher amount will be drafted. The staff operates overall in an unprofessional way, as if they were a distant relative doing you a favor in allowing you to store your things in their home. That is to say, when you can actually get a hold of someone. There is also something shady in the way negative reviews seem to disappear from this location's yelp page. First - I would give both this specific location, and the company as a whole, zero stars if I could. While I have a LOT to say about my experiences with Public Storage, my main takeaway is this - DO NOT USE PUBLIC STORAGE. I work in Transportation / Logistics and we tell all of our client to avoid Public Storage like the plague, and for good reason. Anyway, here is my story; January 2020 I find myself in need of storage, and end up here. The person at the counter who helps me out is very friendly and helpful, and I end up with a unit that costs $87 per month. It's not a great price, especially for the location and condition of the facility, but hey I was desperate. Things go ok for a while, although there are some hiccups with being randomly charged rent a few days early from time to time and my rent going up a bit. It's annoying, but hey inflation gets everyone right? And then we reach this year... January 2022 As of this month (and another months rent randomly being charged early) my rent was $127 - significantly higher but not completely insane just yet. Seeing this steep increase, I log online to check my initial rent and see how much it's gone up and notice that my bill for next month is somehow $162 instead. Somehow my rent has gone up by nearly 30% in one month and 86% in the last two years. That's a 43% increase per yer, during a pandemic. If they keep it up at this rate, my rent would be $230 in another year. There was also zero notice given that my rent would be increasing again - they've apparently just decided to go ahead and bill me more without telling me. Maybe someone can tell me whether or not that's even legal, but for now I'll be cancelling my payment information and emptying my unit out first thing in the morning. If you need affordable storage - DO NOT USE PUBLIC STORAGE If you want a storage company that are actually open during their business hours - DO NOT USE PUBLIC STORAGE If you want a storage company that actually pick up the phone - DO NOT USE PUBLIC STORAGE If you are incredibly desperate for storage, willing to take the first option you find (and my unit will be available by tomorrow), don't mind a company that double your rates every few years without notifying you, and enjoy spending hours listening to a robot answering machine when you need a human being... STILL DO NOT USE PUBLIC STORAGE. If you take one single thing away from my review, let it be this; FUCK PUBLIC STORAGE. ((It's also pretty clear this location are paying to have a lot of reviews taken down - what business that's been open for this many years only has 26 reviews? Please note that according to publicly available records provided by the Concord Police Department, this Public Storage facility has a significantly higher incidence of burglary than neighboring competing facilities. Over the past roughly 5 years, there are approximately 17 incidences of burglary (police code 459), in addition to many other calls for many other reasons. Monument Court Storage (2714 Monument Ct) nearby has 0 burglary calls over the same period. Extra Space Storage (2580 Monument blvd) and San Miguel Mini Storage (1021 San Miguel Rd) each have about a half dozen. I have attached a photo with the Public Storage records for your convenience. I can't vouch for the completeness or accuracy of the data, but I think it will help inform your thinking with regard to the security situation at the respective facilities. It was provided to me by the Concord PD, so one would imagine they have a good handle on the crime stats in their city. I share this info in order to help consumers make more informed choices for their storage needs. In addition to cost (be careful with Public Storage, they are known to jack up prices substantially over time, though I am sure they are not alone in this practice), location, cleanliness, etc, security is a very important concern. I called inquiring about prices just to see and they literally quoted me a cheaper price for the same size unit. Such a scam. They get u in and start jacking up the price cause they know u won't wanna move it all once you've gone thru the effort of moving all that stuff into one of those skinny hallways and elevators. Complaints: Addressed missing moving carts at Concord-Monument location---"they're stolen" from office rep. Must always be stolen as I have been unable to use any in months, always looking for them in each bldg. and each floor. Unacceptable! Addressed 53% increase in 15 months during a pandemic at Concord-Monument location--"you need to contact corporate for that"...got corporate number. Called corporate--1-818-244-8080. Circular phone system routes you back to your storage location if you're already a customer...really helpful, right? So, use a different phone...you then have to enter your personal information, which then, again, routes you back to your location. Called corporate...finally got option to reach Customer Service...you are then routed to a black hole...30 minutes later, contacted Corporate again and chose option to rent a new space...within 3 seconds I was connected! Of course, it's all about money for these guys, right? No help at this option...given same corporate number. Called corporate again and went mad pushing phone keys...ended up on hold for Customer Service...20 minutes later, a live person...this must have been a fluke, I'm sure. Customer Service rep. replied to my concerns...will share complaint about no carts at the site with regional director. No trust this will go anywhere, but I can feel ok that I might have helped someone other than myself. Customer Service rep. replied to my complaint regarding 53% increase with..."you are on a month-to-month contract, so this can happen"...I asked if 6- or 12-month or any other contracts are available..."No". So I state that this means "customer beware" as rates can be increased on whim by the company and the only alternative is to move out. Customer Service rep. responds with, "Is there anything more I can do to help you?" Just some examples of how Customer Service no longer matters once you're already a customer, especially in industries that have revolving doors of people in need of what they offer. ATTENTION: CUSTOMER BEWARE!!! COMPANY IS NOT RESPONSIVE ONCE YOU'VE BECOME A CUSTOMER!!! SIGN OF THE TIMES, UNFORTUNATELY, OF CORPORATE GREED AND DISREGARD FOR PEOPLE IN GENERAL!!! I had a storage unit here for 2+ years (2016 to 2018) and I have not one single complaint. The manager, Jesse and later, Amanda, including all the office staff I interacted with were so very nice and professional. The facility is well kept and clean. Secure and well lit. The gate hours are very accommodating. I definitely recommend you go here before you go anywhere else in Concord. read more

Not the most pleasant experience. Do not store your your stuff here unless you have no other options. Homeless people wandering the grounds, property managers sometimes not available. Worse, you are unfortunate if your unit is on the second floor...the elevator is slow and sometimes broken. They say they've maintained access through the stairs. "Yes, you're welcome to use the stairs to load your boxes into your storage unit". Not the most pleasant experience, but they did provide a service that I needed. I understand that their rates vary from location to location and change based on demand for unit size, but I'm not impressed with a nearly 10% increase in my monthly charge after six months. While most companies are scaling back on price increases during this extremely stressful period, PS is passing out rent increases. Perhaps they are financially distressed and facing bankruptcy? read more

This company sucks and constantly increases the rates, often by over 20%. I moved my stuff from one city to another and both places charged me the full month. So if you want to change to a unit in a different city on the 1st of the month, they will both charge you for the full month regardless. They scam the shit out of you and I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. read more

This one had the best prices around Walnut Creek (it's directly behind Costco, for reference) and the site manager, Jerry, was very professional and very nice. I ended up cancelling my reservation due to a change in our needs, but I wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future. read more

Went here to get a storage unit for my dad to use while he moves. We got a special price online but may have needed a larger unit. I went in to see if we can change our unit and get it all setup. I went in and Jesse helped me out. He took the time to price out both units for me. He even walked me to the two units to look at the two and size them up. This place is absolutely garbage. I wish I could give them no stars. They only had one cart for moving large objects and would not let us use it. We arrived at 4:55pm after a long day of packing and driving and the clerks had a horrible attitude and would not let us use the cart so we had to carry everything even though there was a cart that was being unused. Let me start by saying that the customer service was great. Amelia is the manager, and she is quite professional and very nice. Now lets talk about the facility. It is located in a part of concord that draws a lot of homeless people and what appears to be a fair amount of drug activity. This in and of itself is neither good nor bad. However, many of them hang out in their storage units during the day. I made about 4 attempts to retrieve something from my storage unit 2 or 3 weekends in a row. Each time, there was a homeless couple who had all of their belongings strewn about the place. They even got shaving cream (I assume that's what it was) all over the corridor and my unit. On another occasion a few months later, a homeless man urinated in the elevator. When I went to empty my unit about 3 weeks later, it was clear that the urine puddle had just been allowed to dry, and no one cleaned it. The handle was off the door to enter the storage facility for a few weeks, so getting in was a challenge, especially for the few of us who arrived prior to staff starting their day. The elevator with the dried urine was not working right away either. What it came down to is that I never quite felt my belongings were safe at this particular location, but Amelia was very nice. read more

This place has homeless people wandering around when we moved in the lights were broken and we reported it to Jesse a few times and he said they'll get it fixed in a couple days. Weeks passed by and still nothing happened. I rented a 10 by 10 ft and after some weeks most of our valuables were stolen and broken into. We reported it a few times still they have us the run around. When we finally decided it wasn't worth paying because we keep having problems we payed for 11 days to move out and we got our stuff out on the 9th day here's where things get worse. I was not told to leave my unit unlocked after everything has been taken out I locked it in case someone decided to vandalize it before my 11th day was over now they keep writing me letters telling me I have to pay $160 or they'll send my bill to a collection agency. I questioned why I had to pay this prize when I have payed for my 11days and moved out 2 days ahead, they said I should've unlocked the unit when clearly I wasn't told that when I came to pay for my 11 days to move out. This is by far the worse experience I've ever had and I wouldn't recommend you having to go through the trouble of putting your valuables here just to get stolen and not get any help. This place is trash & not only that they only have 1 cart for 1000 people to use when needed. Don't waste your money on this piece of garbage even the price isn't worth it SMH. went in got a storage asked for the total paid it then 3 weeks later they said I had a balance of $19 then added a late fee of $20 on top of that since I did not pay in time I asked if I knew I had a balance I would've paid it at the time I got the storage it's pointless to pay a total to pay another amnt 2-3 weeks later so I called they would not waive the late fee so I will be taking my business elsewhere . read more

Let me just say, I usually do not write reviews. However, I just have to inform potential customers of the hot mess that is this Concord location. All of my valuable items were stolen from the 10X10 unit, including a Deluxe King Size Self inflatable mattress that was stored in a huge 5'6 rolling container from the SECOND FLOOR. How????? No alarms??? No cameras? No explanation, no response, just was handed a piece of paper on how to file a claim. I initially noticed my bed was gone because of the size. However, it wasn't until recently I have realized more things were gone. How is it that some smooth criminal is able to sleuth without being noticed? Hmmm, mysterious. I think not!!!!! Definitely seems like a inside job. Especially after reading all of these other reviews of items being stolen from 10X10's. Also, lets not forget to mention the prices go up, but the crime does not go down as you continue to rent. Looking for a new place ASAP. read more

When i called Thursday a fellow by the name anthony answered he sounded like didnt want to help me told me he had a line of customers and he would call me back. He never did! I called friday morning and another anthony answered. He was so pleasant and had great phone customer service! He answered my questions and apologized for the other Anthony's. Behavior. I told him thats not his fault for the poor service. I asked his name he said anthony Nathan or something like that. He was amazing. I could only imagine his in person customer service .
