I like that they are around, so there's that. Unfortunately, there are several issues. I know some of them are not their fault; some people who use moving crews and moving trucks like U-Haul have been known to break the elevator and the large automatic door in the back. It takes quite a bit of time to get it repaired and when that happens, it impacts the first floor temperature controlled area. They are woefully understaffed. Never enough flatbeds, so try and get one if you need one because they are handy. The front end person is generally quite nice and understanding and relatable, but it seems corporate is too cheap to hire more staff. And for some reason, the rental prices go up every year with no sign of any improvements to justify the increase. For the price it is not a very good value unfortunately. For what they are charging, they should be allowing 24 hour access. If you are still finishing up at your unit around closing time and you depart the facility after closing time, you'll get an email slapping you on the wrist and giving you a warning of the business hours for access, treating you as the way, you are a child, very disrespectful. Make it 24 hour access so we don't have to deal with that garbage. When the technology works, it's great and you can use the mobile app to activate the doors and gates. But when it doesn't work, it's kind of a pain. as I understand, using the app on android is more reliable than on iPhone. It works maybe 30% of the time; the rest of the time you're forced to manually input the key code. Even 30% was an improvement considering when I first started renting it was at 0%. And part of the reason why there seems to be so few flatbed carts around is because renters are wrongly storing the flatbed carts inside their storage unit and corporate doesn't seem interested in finding those people for doing so, so it just keeps happening. It's a real pain in the rear when several people arrive all around the same time and it's hard to get around. Fortunately, a lot of the renters are pretty amiable and everyone has a general understanding that we're all trying to get our stuff when we need it. I think with this horrible economy the corporation really needs to significantly cut the rental prices, because they are pretty outrageous considering the value they are providing doesn't justify the rates. It's difficult to get a hold of customer service by phone. Sometimes you seem to reach the physical location while other times, it feels like you are speaking to a call-center. But in either case you're usually going to hit voicemail and end up leaving a voicemail. It doesn't seem to really help much because you rarely get a call back. So to resolve or address one problem it typically takes several calls, and a lot of persistence and patience. What I do appreciate is that there are restrooms available to the public who rent at the facility, and last I checked the working water fountain. But I don't remember if the water fountain is still working since the Scamdemic. I think it's operable again. What I don't appreciate or don't understand is that I noticed recently that huge sections of the lighting are off so you're walking in the dark a lot indoors. And I like that it is temperature controlled. Sidenote: seems if the giant door is destroyed, the first floor temperature controlled area could be impacted and probably is impacted, while second and third floors are insulated from the temperature control issues of the first floor. So if you consider renting, if you don't mind using the elevator, I would recommend getting a unit in the second or third floor. Just for added peace of mind. read more
