I found the online application and entire process very simple. I got a great rate and received my entrance code and clear directions to the site and to my unit via text. When I arrived the manager had just checked to see if I had moved my things in. She greeted me and let me know she was there to help. I did visit her after loading my things as I had my own lock...she did an easy return and gave a credit to my account immediately. I had a great experience. I rented a 5 x 10 space. read more

I went online to pre-arrange my storage size and locker location. I went into the facility on the date and time that was prearranged. The young man behind the counter was clearly not trained well in customer service and began to ask questions so that he could, "help me determine the best size unit for me". I mentioned that I had already determined this online and that I was planning to slowly fill up the unit went on". He rudely informed me that he was "just following company protocol'. He then asked me another bunch of questions as to what I was storing. When my answers were not exact, he became clearly frustrated with me in all of the minute we were talking and said "look, I just have to ask you these questions, its our company policy". I then informed him that if he wanted my business he should "talk to people like people. Stop talking to me like I'm a f-ing ten year old". Then informed him that he could explain to his boss why they lost my business. I never raised my voice and left calmly. It was over from start to finish in about 3 minutes. With a Self Storage place on every corner, I will have no problem finding another place to store my belongings. I think anyone researching this business here on Yelp! can see that they should consider looking elsewhere too. read more

Do NOT store your stuff here! Not unless you want to lose it, anyway. I signed up online, drove over to the place, paid more than I'd signed up for, and stashed my stuff. I didn't complain about the price, since I was moving to Arizona, and I was short on time and options. I just set it up, dropped my stuff off, and left. Apparently during the spring, do to a miscommunication during my move, I made a payment late. To avoid a repeat of that, at the beginning of the summer I set up automatic payments through my bank. That payment has been debited to my account on the first of every month since June. Since all that noise was automated, and I was out of town, I to all intents and purposes forgot about it. The charge showed on my bank statement every month, and I assumed all was fine. Then today I was talking to my brother, and he needed to store some stuff. I told him he could use my unit, as I still had plenty of room. So I went online to look up my information... and found out my account no longer existed. I called the facility. They told me that since my account had gone delinquent (even though I was making regular payments on it), they had AUCTIONED OFF all of my belongings. In SEPTEMBER. Yet my payments had continued to post from my bank account every month. The most recent one had just gone through on December 28th. For three months I had been paying for a storage unit that no longer belonged to me, to protect possessions that, unbeknownst to me, I no longer owned. Why did they continue to take my money, even after selling my stuff and (I assume) pocketing the proceeds from that? I'm still trying to figure that one out. I have a call in with their district manager. We'll see what he says when he gets back to me. I've also emailed my lawyer, to figure out what my rights are. I don't really want an explanation, justification, or even restitution. I just want my stuff back. The stuff I was paying Public Storage to keep safe. In the meantime, I figure the best I can do is to keep anyone else from getting screwed over. I don't know if this is a systemic problem with Public Storage (though I know I'll never use them again), but this Harlem Avenue location, for sure, deserves to fail. Do NOT keep your things here. Don't let your friends use this place. Save yourself headaches, overcharges, legal hassles, and the loss of your possessions. Find a better place to store your stuff. read more

Stored my furniture there and went to move it to my home. All my furniture was covered in mold! Todd the manager tells me it's not their fault. Filed a claim they tell me that the insurance i was forced to take does not cover fungus. They tten said they would give me 250.oo when i prove the furniture is mine and the amout it's worth. Most people who want to rave about services are likely to communicate by word of mouth so I am not that surprised to see no recent reviews about this location. Well...Todd has been very thorough and helpful throughout the entire process. Overall, my experience was great. I currently have my items in storage and he takes care of all of his customers. He does not hold back on transparency and is always ready and willing to him. I stop by every once in while and his demeanor is always warm. He even treats my dog nicely when he is with me! Outstanding. This place is three blocks from my house, works great for me. I needed storage immediately as I had to close out my contract with Uhaul due to very rude service and an outrageous cost per month that was basically killing me fast. Enisce & Stephanie were very friendly, courteous, and helpful. These lovely ladies had my contract and payment due lickity split, and I was unloading the truck. They even loaned me a cart to assist me to make my move in easier and for free. Uhaul would have charged $25 for that plus a deposit. Overall, they got me out of a rut and at half the cost of what I was paying for Uhaul storage. Highly recommended and secure facilities with locked gate and cameras everywhere. I feel that I will not need to lose sleep anymore over my stuff. A+ Five stars. Thanks Ladies for your friendly service. I look forward to doing monthly business with you. read more

Just Horrible. They gave me a lower price at first and then they more than doubled the price in a short time. When you go to the unit, the place is extremely uncomfortable to be there for even a few minutes. It is either extremely cold during winter or extremely hot during the summer. One time, I lmost fell when they did not clean the ice outside of the entrance to the unit. When I complainned to the employee there, he got upset. Also, the lock in my unit was jammed by a key not belong to me and that I knew nothing about. It was either was done by someone trying to break inside the unit or was done purposeful by someone else in that storage facility. There was no one there to cut the lock so I had to pay someone $150 to do it. I find it hard to believe a lock place would not have an equipment to cut a lock. They now hire this woman who is even worst and even rudest than the other past employees. Stay away and you have been warned. read more

I placed a reservation about a week ago through the website. I must admit, I was very surprised as to how fast the manager at the location called me to assist in any way. I told the Manager, who told me her name was Ana, that it was my first time renting at a storage facility. She talked me through all the steps and was very helpful. Today I went to the location to check the space out and and Ana and Stephany greeted me very friendly. They answered all my questions and the location is a good one, it is clean and its on a busy street. Pretty much the only reason I haven't rented here yet is because I need my husbands approval, but definitely recommend this locality. read more

When I went into public storage I spoke to Margarita and she was happy to help and was able to explain in detail what would be my best fit. She explained how to protect my items, and the features that comes with the company such as camera and codes. Her customer services was outstanding and I appreciate her time and service. I was recently at this Public Storage location to rent a storage locker. Annie serviced me. Annie was extremely friendly and helpful. I needed to move several items from a locker that my family was closing to another, smaller locker. Annie was helpful in showing me several lockers of the same size so that we could find the one that would fit one of the larger items I needed to store. She assured me the item would fit, based on the measurement I made, and it did. Annie was very thorough and organized in going through all the paperwork as well. It started with a lie. I saw a rate on-line for $99. I drove over and they said, no the rate was $116. Later I found out that they lied, they will give you $99 if you reserve a meeting on-line but they overcharge by $7, per month, forever, if you drive over. So when I specifically asked about the rate, instead of telling me I could get that rate by simply clicking on my smart phone, they lied and said no such rate was available. Later when confronted with their own web site -- they said too bad. So this place I am trusting my stuff within I can't trust the people at. Very unhappy first day as a new customer. AVOID read more
