Tryon in Yorkmount had been acquired by "those who shall not be named" and the place has been going downhill ever since, so when I heard Morningstar was opening up in Southend I knew I had to switch back to the winning team. Sherry, the property manager, is fantastic. She made the leasing process incredibly smooth and has real pride in her property. You knew you were in good hands after talking with her. I toured the facilities and found them to be clean, very climate controlled (especially in this 90 degree weather), and easy to navigate. The day I turn in my keys to "the other guys" will be a happy day indeed. I seriously missed the quality and care of Morningstar.

I arrived a little early because I came ahead of the lunch rush and I wasn't sure where they were located. Initially I parked in street parking in front of the building. But when I got out the doors were all locked. So I parked on the side of the building. I saw lights on and assumed the door facing the office was where I should park. When I tried to open the door it too was locked. So I thought maybe they were giving a tour. I went back to my car to call. No one picked up the phone and I drove around but there was only one car in the parking lot and that belonged to a gentleman moving in boxes. So my guess was that Nono e was working. Lights on but no one was home. I received a call from them yesterday so they confirmed my appointment but it's unprofessional for no one to be there as a backup. So I left. This was very unprofessional. I wasted my lunch break coming here.

This by far is the worst place I have dealt with for storage. For those of you that do not know…read morethe air conditioning has been out in half the building since May and the people that visit the units weekly and know about this have been given half off their monthly rent. When my rent was raised in June. I was there last week and the air is still out. My items were starting to mold and their is a water leak going on as well, as some items were wet. The manager wanted me to come and show him the mold. He stated heat and water do not cause mold. Also, in my last review, I complained because people who are living in the storage units and I felt unsafe. Well the problem is worse. They have the all living in the part of the building where the air is working (Thank God!) After punching in my code a young lady tried to enter the building with me when the doors opened. I actually had words with the woman and advised her she would need to enter her own code to enter the building. She was not happy! Then when I am leaving the unit, another woman approaches carrying groceries and stated she lived there also. This is a very unsafe environment, and management doesn't seem to care. Do not rent from this place!

I came into this location in immediate need of a storage unit, and having never had to secure one before, I had A LOT of questions. I also had a few criteria I really wanted for the location of my unit - I wanted to be as close to the security cameras and elevator entrance as possible, since I or my other teammates would sometimes have to come to the unit alone or late at night. Danielle patiently searched each floor in the computer to find units that fit my size specs, along with these other two main criteria, and found a few options. We went and looked at each one, and looked at the location in reference to the cameras for each unit. We found the right one and placed it on hold until the 1st of the month (today), so we could start the rental on a full month. On the 1st, I went back in and found that my needs had changed. Even though this caused her to do a little more work to edit the info in the computer, she was still super helpful and upbeat. After a little while, we found the perfect, bigger unit and got it keyed and ready to go! I am so thrilled to finally be able to move this stuff out of my home into a space where it can be organized and well kept. I really like that there are trashcans on each floor, easily accessible, and bathrooms on 2 levels as well. The office at this account is clean, welcoming and they even make popcorn on the weekends for their customers! So far, I'm really loving my experience with Morningstar!!
