Andre was incredibly supportive and allowed me to cancel the smaller trailer and rent the larger one. By now it's 7:00 and they're closing time. It gets worse friends. Andre comes out to attach the trailer only to inform me that the ball on my trailer is too big. Andre once again to the rescue. He and I go back into the store where he assists me in purchasing the correct size ball and back to the trailer. Already two steps ahead of me, he has the tools in hand and gets the ball swapped out and the trailer attached in no time. At no time did Andre act like he was put out or frustrated at being held up in closing and going home. He provided well beyond fantastic customer service. I wanted to understand the logistics of how the service work. L was told by the manager, that I can"t leave , the pod ,because it may be broken into, I told him I never heard of anyone breaking in a Pod or box. I am moving with small amount of help , so I wanted to know how long can I keep, the pod, so I can fill up each day then on day of moving I would have family there to help me to finish. He wanted me to fill it, then allow them bring back to U haul and charge me, then when I needs to finish filling the box or pod bring back from U haul , and charge me again. So since it just me I want to filled each day. He suggest that call service to get a better deal, because he was not going to adjust, which would cost me $300 to $400 dollars. His attitude was awful, nasty reactions toward me, I have rent several times from U haul in the past. Never experience this behavior before. The access road is a mess, huge potholes so we had to take a different van as we could get stuck. For three years they said it is being fixed. Nobody is there now at all. I called after trying to catch someone there for three weeks...found out there is a person only between 11 am - 3 pm three times a week. The place is unkept, the hallways are never swept and yet the rent keeps increasing...I called for rate change with an offer of prepayment but they only would lower it by $10 for 12 month prepayment. Facilities are cumbersome to get into, they want to push using the app for access, so dig your…read morephone out at every gate, door, and when you want to use the elevator. (Hands are probably never full at a storage unit.) Alternative is an access code at 3-4 different inconveniently placed boxes. The code is 10 digits long. Facilities always have issues. Broken door, or elevator or something. Today it was one elevator entirely out of order, one not working properly, and the climate control completely off. Pushing 90 degrees inside with high humidity. Good thing we aren't laying an arm and a leg for these features! As others have said, yes their standard business practice is to increase costs regularly. Expect in a year or two to be paying around 3x the cost you started paying. Place is tolerable if you need gap storage for a few months tops. If you need long term or convenient and regular access you'll be very disappointed here.
