I made a reservation for Saturday 8/26, paid the fees, but when I arrived my access code was denied. Called the office, called the other local PS offices, and the 1-877 number, got no answer. I left voicemails letting them know what was happening, no response. Even called all those same numbers today Mon 8/28 and no one answered. So, simply put, I never even got into the property to access my storage unit... Finally got some one on chat, which is a tiny logo in the bottom corner of their website, and Keith couldn't care less. Now that it is home buying & selling time, I am being exposed to a lot of new businesses (i.e. ones where they don't serve food/booze). In order to make the timing of the move work out, we needed a storage unit, so we went with Public Storage, because of their $1 for the first month promotion and location near Uptown. The online booking and ease of obtaining a unit was great. The customer service by Gloria (office manager) was fantastic as well. Another big thing about this location is that you can drive a car/moving truck right up to your unit. As with all storage unit locations, it is always a little bit eerie when you are accessing your unit. There are always some interesting folks wandering the ground, and possible some people even live in their units. So I would recommend going to your unit during the day and during office hours when Gloria can keep an eye out for you. There are a couple hidden cost downsides to using Public Storage. Their promoting of $1 for the first month is fantastic, but once you get there they notify you that you need to pay a monthly insurance expense (~$11/ month for the lowest option). Also, make sure you bring your own lock and request a unit that takes a regular lock. They sell custom locks for their units at $20/lock, and these locks only work with their specific units. If you need a quick storage option, I would recommend checking out the promotions on Public Storage's online site. read more

Amazing Customer Service despite Covid-19 restrictions which were reassuring. Gewina, the manager, was genuinely kind, caring, personable, forthright, extremely patient and professional. She made you feel like family. Wonderfull is an understatement! Her new assistant Stiles was so helpful and sweet. They BOTH went above and beyond helping me. Rates are the best around; no gimmicks. We needed a short term storage unit to house a few items while we are moving. We stopped in to this Public Storage on North try on because it was close to our new home. We met Gloria and she was awesome. She made the sign-up process so easy and we had a unit within 15 minutes. Luckily a unit just came open and it would be exactly what we needed. The unit was a typical storage space, but it was what we needed. Gloria made the closing of this unit easy as well. She is awesome to work with! Getting in and out of the storage unit was pretty simple, but it is not 24 x 7 access, just a FYI. read more

This location is super sketchy. I reserved a unit, drove my big ass 16' uhaul truck 8 hours and she said the unit WAS available. We took the golf cart to the unit and she peeked inside (I didn't see anything), closed it real quick and said, "sorry this unit is taken, we don't have anymore left". It was a shady transaction. Her inventory list clearly stated it was available. I watched her print it. Ended up going to a much better PS location on Wilkinson. There were professional, efficient and I feel safe leaving my belongings there. read more

The 2nd star is for the ease of getting a moving truck in and out of facility. They force you to purchase renters insurance and don't allow you to opt out by proving that you are already covered by your own insurance company. They 've raised the rent several times. They also refuse to be respectful. It's almost impossible to get anyone to answer the phone. I question how often someone is physically present. They consistently return calls around 6 am. They know I live on the west coast. They have my address. I've repeatedly requested to have my account noted not to call before noon even in the messages. Either this request is too complicated or blatantly ignored. Do yourself a favor and rent elsewhere. read more

The place is managed by Gloria, who is a kind and nice lady. She was so friendly when I checked in. The only problem is that it requires to use a lock for the storage, either bring your own or purchase one there. I didn't know this and had to buy a lock. read more
