OMG the site manager is horrible and rude. I have never been treated so terrible at a place before. The manager was dressed very unprofessional and looked like he just crawled out of the gutter. He walked so fast to see the unit I had to run to keep up. No words to explain this man.He said this was a training facility and that was just scary. I hope they get of this man (I believe his name was Chris) and please put someone there that can make a difference to someone when they walk in the door. read more

I have been a customer of this location for over 5 years. Customer service is horrible. Very low class and unprofessional. I have increasingly felt like they are prison wardens and I am the enemy. There has been no loyalty or cooperation in solving issues. Can't wait to get my stuff out of there. PS -- Although they advertise climate control, I haven't seen any evidence of it. The bathroom is disgusting and often locked. When I mentioned it, they said there's really nothing they can do about it. There never is. They seem to be pretty incapable of doing anything except collecting your payment. More developments since this post -- REALLY! -- don't put your stuff here. I got a 10x9 last week of January. it's now first week of June and I just got a 20% rate increase. from $158 to $192. That's just not right. The lady at the local PS is fine - no issues with the specific place but as a company increasing the lease price after just 4 months by 20% is not right. On top of that the 50% off first month never happened and when I contact PS they never bothered to get back to me either. read more

This is by far my favorite storage facility. I have had one storage unit for 2.5 years and just recently got a second unit for my move. The Manager (Stephanie) and Chris are exceptionally helpful, friendly, courteous and professional. I had a bad experience with a previous move, and the staff at Public Storage (Belmont) have made the process so much easier. I've had a pretty good track record with Public Storage over the years, but the Belmont location has been by far my favorite. Stephanie should be promoted - she's always helpful, proactive, and a joy to deal with. Chris has helped me more times than I can count and is extremely conscientious. In my profile I state that I only Yelp the extremes. Here goes my first" extremely atrocious" review. Now I would like to preface this by admitting I have written a positive review for Public Storage. And I still believe it is in fact accurate....because its on an entirely different location. THIS review is in reference to the Belmont CA location. Stephanie is the manager and her boytoy is Chris .(1)My first encounter was with Chris who pokes his head under my half raised door(to keep sun out) and tells me that I cannot lower my door and if I do it again he will have to take further action. (2)Days later the manager Stephanie stops at my unit telling me the same thing. The sun blazes right into my unit at about 4PM to 6PMish and it cooks. So I respond..."Show me in the lease where it says I cannot lower my door" She never did because she couldn't but she proceeded to get louder and more argumentative (3) I then notice Chris, who walks around very smug and talks authoritatively like hes THE MAN, passing by my unit when I am inside, multiple times a day. It felt like he was scoping or casing my unit looking to see what I have inside. Moving ahead, (4) I scheduled my move out day a month in advance for August 7th but when I spoke to Stephanie I mentioned that its a tentative date because I was coming in from the east coast and wasnt sure which day I would arrive. Now, in the past, they would prorate your rental amount on the move out date. The website even states to turn off autopay. Apparently the policy was changed, but AFTER my scheduled move out. So I should still be under the old method of prorating. OK so(5) on August 7th, an hour and a half outside the bay area, having been driving for 5 days, she calls and tells me since I am not moved out I have to pay a full months rent! ***************BULLSHIT.*************** And so I call her manager. I Left a message for Tim and got no return call. What I did get was a new email confirming my new move out date of Aug 9th. UM OK IM HAPPY WITH THAT. And....had this been the end of it,,,,,had my rental amount been prorated, had I been allowed to vacate all me stuff and close my account,,,,this review would not have been written. So I roll into town at 6pm on the 7th and start loading up my trailer. We continued the next day, on the 8th, and I had friends helping me. I left the place ahead of them and unbeknownst to me they forgot to lock my unit, with items still inside. (6)So Stephanie calls me the morning of the 9th informing me there were items left and no lock on unit. I told her I would be there before the office closed that day to take care of remaining items and close my account. I ARRIVE AT 4pm to see a notice on the door that shes gone FOR AN HOUR and will return at 5PM So I then try to log into the gate and my access is denied. Then I see Stephanie come out of her apartment ,,,,and I ask her why I am denied access. She tells me...my relief manager Chris cleaned out my unit and closed out my account. EXCUSE ME? I am supposed to have the unit till the 9th. The letter confirming my move out is till the 9th. If my unit was unlocked, they should have put their own lock on it to secure my items.Instead they threw them out. She starts yelling at me saying I left it unlocked and I need to pay a full month. And that she didnt know Chris had done this. OH REALLY? BUT YOUR THE MANAGER! AND WE ALL KNOW HOW DEDICATED HE IS,,,,SEEN SNEAKING IN AND OUT OF HER APARTMENT ALL HOURS DAY AND NIGHT.(now this is none of my business but when I am called in the morning, and tell her ill be down only to find the office closed for an hour and its not lunch time, and then suddenly they are both back in the office at the same time, AND that my unit was cleaned out and account closed by the guy casing my unit....well I think its obvious what we have here......if it walks like a duck and I THINK CORPORATE WOULD NOT APPRECIATE THIS LEVEL OF UNPROFESSIONAL ISM)) (7) So she takes me to the garbage and fishes out a few items, but I am missing much much more and she would not let me look in the unit itself. So now what we have is a theft by a public storage employee. **********So in summary, the manager and assist manager are banging in her apartment during business hours and shes covering for his thievery. Furthermore she didnt want to honor my move out prorated rent which she could have .....trying to force me to pay a full month. Do I need to spell out this smells like fraud? I had to call her boss twice before getting a call back. He was less than understanding and finally gave me a prorated amount BUT I asked him to find out where the rest of my stuff was and he said hed get back to me. STILL WAITING, TIM Guess a phone call to the next higher level is coming as well as an insurance claim on the stolen property. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION!!!! read more

I picked this Public Storage for two reasons, 1 - it was located very close to my new apartment and 2 - the price. Everyone in the office was very friendly and very helpful. My unit had a ver small leak and the were on top of it and were prompt in repairing. read more

My day was actually going really shitty before I came in to get a storage tonight. I totaled my car on the way to San Francisco and had to get a storage fast to put my belongings in. Chris an Anastacia were a great help in not only getting me a storage last minute, but also cheered me up in the process by being so personable and understanding about my unfortunate situation. They actually got me to laugh about it afterwards. This experience couldn't have gone better. The property manager Steph was also really nice, and asked where my car was parked so I wouldn't get towed away in a heartbeat. This is my first time coming to the city of Belmont ever and I felt extremely welcomed. I wish there were more people like the three I got to meet tonight, very nice, understanding, friendly people! read more

Chris provided excellent customer service when I needed to vacate my unit. He was professional and kind, and he made the entire check-out process quick and easy. True MINUS STARS. Don't ever never use this place!!! If Stephani helps you, make sure you have a person for back up right next to you. She let my husband go away and went over super quick contract without informing any promotions. If You go there for online $20 or $30 promotion, you will anyway end up paying around $150. When my husband complains about those rip off, she said whatever and said can't do anything. BUT when you try to call her manager, Tim, she will approach to you with smile and say she will make up later anything personally. (Sure she was watching us from surveilance video and ran into us from office when we made a call to Tim in our stprage area. And her first statement was "are you trying to call my manager? Please don't do that".) When we came back and said we want to terminate this storage thing, she acted very rude and said 'okay get out i don't care anymore. Never come back as you wish.' If you still want to make a contract with them, go ahead and you will agree me later after phrchase. Bring your lock. She will never tell you that "we charged" til you make a contract. Anyway they have security system and force you to have insurance. Why should you pay extra lock? You can bring your own. Never buy moist absorbent thing! She will charge you. If you return those, she will treat you with most rude attitude ever in the world. read more

Just stored stuff there for the first time. Mary helped me out, and she was terrific. She's only been there a few weeks, but extremely nice and professional. The light was out in my unit, and one of the guys there (blanking on his name) immediately went out to change it. Unfortunately, that whole circuit is out, but they said they would work on getting it fixed. Unit was clean, door closed easily. Good amount of driveway space for drive-up units. Note that you get a discount if you book online. read more

RENEE SAVED THE DAY!!!! so we reserved a unit and it was suppose to be cleaned and 10 days later the guy didn't clean it and there was oil all over the floor. So we asked her what we could do as we had our stuff all unpacked ready to move in. There was the same unit even closer available and I was like HEEEEEY can we have this one? And we hoped it was not reserved.....as we waited patiently for her to come back my husband was walking around looking for available units....there were none the same size.....Renee came back and YESSSSSSS ITS AVAILABLE!!!! WHOOOOOO HOOOOO cause I didn't want to pack all my crap up again and go across the road to another unit. She was super nice and so helpful. My unit was at 1 Dairy Lane, around the corner, but administered by the same staff. Two stars because they, well, do have storage. Local staff is ok, particularly when you consider who they have to work for. The REAL problem for me was that I didn't monitor rent increases, I just paid them. This failure cost me thousands of dollars. Of course it was the company that decided to extract every cent from me that they could. MOVE when the rate gets too high. You can move to another storage unit at Public Storage for just an "administrative fee." Or you could move to a better place around the corner to A-1 storage and get NO administrative fee and reduced rent for the first month. Your choice, but keep you wallet close. They will take the entire contents if you let them get away with it. read more

In theory, this is a fine place to store your stuff - but they have some horrible customer service practices you should be aware of. Do business with them at your own risk!!!!! My husband and I rented a storage facility for a few months. We vacated in early Februrary, thinking that we were all paid up. Apparently we still owed a month's rent, since they actually require 30 days notice to move out. And my husband's credit card had just expired, so the auto-pay didn't go through. But rather than calling us and asking for the payment (they did have our correct phone number, by the way), they IMMEDIATELY sent the $89 bill to an aggressive collections agency, who started making threatening phone calls that my husband's credit score was going to get trashed. Of course, we had thought we were all paid up and questioned the collections agency, and it took 6 weeks to get confirmation of this mysterious $89 (for failure to give sufficient notice of vacating) that we owe. We're going to pay the money, but did they really have to sic a collections agency on us immediately, placing our credit score at risk, vs. just placing a call? I have never heard of a company tarnishing your credit score for a bill they have never even told you that you owe! Very, very bad company. Feel free to rent here only if it's impossible there could ever be a mishap with your billing, or if your credit rating is truly unimportant to you. read more

i left two stars for stephanie and not the company it seems that this company has aproblem with keeping customers in the units, because the rates are thru the roof ok i started at 135.00 per month in 2015 and my bill for june was gonna be 215.00 for a 5x10 storage area they increased the rent till i had enough and was forced to move out this is what this company does i was told by an employee to read the fine print. so if you happen to take up p/s read first they increase every quarter i think anyway dont do it go somewhere else please. read more

I had a great experience with this Public Storage location. Stephanie is great and expedited our rental check-in quickly and professionally. The storage unit was clean and perfect for my need. Fast forward to moving out date; Stephanie saw that we were clearing out our unit and proceeded to check us out back at the office while we were finishing up. This was extremely helpful and painless. I had a storage unit here for 2 months and everything was good. No problems until I moved all of my stuff into my new house and while unpacking realized that I had also moved roaches in with me. I am a very clean person and when I packed up my belongings everything was packed clean, neat, padded and wrapped, but I did not tape shut the tops of many of the boxes and those gross things climbed right in. I have never used a storage facility in my life and had no idea this was something that could happen. Be aware....... read more
