Constant increases flexibility on payments is close to none in terms of you are forced to use their auto pay. Very quick to cut your locks if payments aren't on time. USPS mail delivered checks are consistently late which they are well aware of and don't make concessions when this happens. A prior employee understood this and would correct the books so those (bundled delivery) paying via Wells Fargo checks didn't get hit with fees. Unwilling to setup their system so that Wells Fargo customers can use electronic bill pay and not a mailed check. read more

BE WARE! Unethical Practices and Deceptive Sales Tactics! I am beyond frustrated with my experience at Public Storage! I signed up for a storage unit, and Darius added insurance to my account without my knowledge. so when I went to pay my bill and saw the additional fee, i called to inquire. He added it without my knowledge and told me he gave me a brochure to read. When I later asked to have the insurance charge removed from my account, I was met with more frustration. I was told I had to pay it first and then contact the insurance company for a refund. Are you kidding me? This is not only unethical but also a clear violation of consumer rights! It's outrageous that a company of this size engages in such deceptive practices. I expected better from Public Storage. If you're considering using their services, be warned: they will pressure you into buying unnecessary insurance and make it nearly impossible to get out of it. Things were stolen from my unit (family heirlooms, art, etc), without the lock being broken. This suggests an inside job, unfortunately. When I tried to file a claim, I was told that since the lock wasn't broken (ie proving forced entry), their insurance company automatically rejects your claim. Additionally, the monthly charge you sign up for gets raised significantly - mine increased by over 40% after 6 months. I've had a storage unit in this location for a little over one year and I've seen a slow decline from the very beginning. Let's start with the points of entry. There are two ways to enter this building & a funny story on how to exit. The front entrance is relatively easy. Don't let the big garage doors fool you, they have been broken for months, and some of them don't work. You'll need to bring your items up the ramp. It's an awkward angle to load product inside, so I would suggest using the back entrance. The rear entrance is a car ride to the reverse of the building where you enter your code and a large metal gate opens. Please note to the right of the gate the gaping hole in the fence, this topic will arrive later in the review. In order to access your unit on the bottom floor, you need to enter the same code to gain entry. In order to enter the second floor, you must enter your code again for the elevator. Please note these sliding glass doors can be pushed open manually and THIS is where the robberies from the previous reviews are (could be) occurring. The gaping hole in the fence and the {open}, broken doors are allowing anyone with a pursuit to steal ~ an open door. LITERALLY. One evening I was leaving the rear parking lot at 11pm and the gate code would not function. It said access denied. I called corporate and they were zero help. There is no emergency code to grant exit. They advised me to call 911 and express it was a non-emergency. I had to leave my vehicle and return the next day. Don't stay past close like me. I was inside working on organizing my unit. Everything is always out of order at this location. The elevator is often broken, entrances are either closed or broken and it is only getting worse. The interior of the storage unit is pretty clean, so no red flags would go up if you were sourcing a new location to store your belongings. I use my storage unit for work purposes and the items inside have no value. I would never store any product of value at this location. Someone could easily see you loading items into your unit and return to steal it later. Again, this is not the location to store items of value. The staff for the most part is very friendly. I've had no challenges with the staff. They are pretty transparent with the challenges of this location. I've shared some feedback and they listened. Listened is they key word, I honestly don't think they have any control of how the genzeral manager or corporate runs this location. It's a shady location and they clock in & clock out ~ no more, no less. Also, be prepared to receive a price hike after you sign your contract. I was paying under $100.00 & now pay $120.00. I purchased a 5' x 10' unit and it was not the unit specified. I have been calling since 10:14 Wednesday morning 08/25. I left multiple voicemails, since i had gone up there that same day to try to view a unit and and nobody was there (since it's COVID I can understand). I took a chance on the unit because while viewing Wednesday I ran into a customer that had the unit size I needed and they did say the manager was not really ever there but the facility is clean and they hadn't had any problems. Purchased the unit the night of 8/25 and left another voicemail to try to get the gate code early and since it says someone will return to me within 24-48 hours. I gave it time. Today is Saturday 8/28 my move in date and nobody has called me nor any of my family members back about the unit. The message center individuals unfortunately aren't much help because they don't have any property layouts or more knowledge about stuff happening on the property so I did NOT move into the unit. Called the 1800 number and asked for a refund because it makes no sense to not be able to help the people who are new to the vicinity and just need assistance even if not physically there. Today I finally received a call from the Senior District Manager. Of course, this is after I called him literally every day this week, sent him an email on Monday, reached out on Twitter, submitted a form on their website, and forwarded my original email to their Social Media Support department. He spoke for a while talking about the break-in and trying to get me to understand it better. My problem really wasn't the break-in. That was just the catalyst for all of my other frustrations to reach a boiling point, so I interrupted and let him know what was truly bothering me. All I really wanted was a phone call. You know, to be acknowledged as a [valued] customer and not ignored. It got that. I'm still not 100% confident in how they're handling the obvious security problems at this location, but at least now I'm able to talk to someone about it. I don't anticipate any more problems because I'm sure my issues regarding their staff and security lapses will be addressed. I really am trying to think positively about the entire situation. And he did apologize for not responding more quickly. I was glad that was acknowledged. Later in the day someone from Public Storage's customer service team called me to follow-up. He said he saw where the District Manager had already credited my September rent (that I promptly paid on time and without hesitation). That was nice, although I wasn't trying to get anything for free. I added a star because they finally called back. Hopefully I'll be able to update this again and increase my rating over the next few weeks as things improve. Cross your fingers for me! read more

BAIT AND SWITCH PRICING!! BE PREPARED!! I rented a space here for $225 per month in Nov/Dec 2018. In April 2019 I received a notice that the rent was increasing to $288 per month. A $63 per month increase in less than 6 months. I complained to the property manager Donna but she couldn't help. I sent an email to their corporate office and received their standard form letter that basically says tough luck. Just know that the price you sign up for can be increased with 30 days notice and there is nothing you can do about it except move out. Of course moving out can be expensive and they know that hence the price increase. I really regret picking Public Storage to store my property. They are not an ethical company in my opinion. read more

My sister is renting a unit there, she's only been renting since the end of February, so not even a month, but I must say this place is top notch. I was able to see the place and meet the ladies at the front desk -- so so SOOO Nice. CUSTOMER SERVICE: 5/5 Excellent, friendly faces, nice tones, no attitudes. My sister had a very long and ardous moving process so she almost cried of relief to get such nice people. They found her a great unit. FACILITY: 5/5 This is one of the nicest Public Storage's I've seen. It's clean, large, has working elevators and docks. They even have a section that looks completely brand new! LOCATION: 5/5 Their right of the highway location is perfect. This is especially great if you're looking to get a Uhaul and every mile counts. The near highway location lets you plan more strategically and can save you a few bucks. SUMMARY: Thank you for making it easy for my sister! It's in a good location but not a good storage building. I have used this storage for about a year now and I have experienced or see it all. We you first rent an unit they make you get renter's insurance becuase there is break ins and water damage always happening. If you have an 2-floor unit you will have your stuff stolen unless you have a lock like the one in the picture and/or the roof will leak it rains hard at all making your things wet more likely, I have only got my water damage on my things. Pricing wise when I first rented a storage unit I was paying $100 for the first 6 months and afterward $130, I have a 10x10 unit. The staff here even tells tenants to milk the insurance when making a claim and is afraid when tenants come by with put a notice before moving their things out every month. I only keep things I am not worried about in my unit and/or things that wont get ruined by water. I only recommend this place if you only rent for a short time period and/or you don't care about your things getting damaged/stolen. read more

The staff on-site is very professional and accommodating. However, the backend office personnel is either non-existent, or somewhere off-shore. My contract has a stipulated price per month, and the Public Storage contract points out that any increase will follow written notification to the renter of the unit. Nope. My bill went up $32 per month without any notification, and trying to understand why this is not in violation of the contract I signed is a mystery. My call to the on site office was directed to the business office-which is a voicemail line. And you guessed it, no reply. read more

I have NO IDEA how this facility has 4 stars! My storage unit was completely burglarized and robbed. I had a 10x15 on the second floor and 100% of all my things were stolen, me and my mothers entire home along with all our sentimental items and values. I was notified of the incident on October 26, 2018 at 10:18am by the manager Donna Hourel who before contacting me contacted her DM Sean Marker who never reached out to me, nor did they notify the police to file a report since my items were stolen on their premises. Upon my arrival the next morning Donna told me my unit wasn't the only unit robbed but that there were 40-50 units that have been burglarized and that this had been goin on for months. The lack of security at this facility is bewildering!! The normality of people's things being stolen is beyond uncomfortable. When I filed my police report I was informed by the officer that this facility is on a list of places not to use and that this wasn't the first time they had been called out due to people's units being broken into. If you are looking for a storage facility this is NOT the one you should intrust your property too!!! DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY!!!!!! If you currently have a unit here you should go and remove your items, you should also check your items and make sure they are all there. I was also informed that people's locks had been replaced by God knows who, in the situation of my unit, which had a lock that DID NOT BELONG TO M E ON IT! Also if you actually do your due diligence you'll see that there are reviews going back years of people who had a unit at this place and their units were robbed. I lost everything I own practically 95% of my clothes ,all my household items, Computer builds , Stereo equipment, most of my amps and cabinets for playing electric guitars and basses out of and all my tools. I would like to begin by saying that the Public Storage facility located at 2115 Monroe Drive NE Atlanta, GA 30324 is the worst place you can trust to safeguard your personal belongings. In the past 4-5 years we have rented a space here, our unit has been vandalized twice. Our biggest mistake was to remain in the facility the first time it happened. We just had the displeasure of finding out that our storage unit was vandalized once again this past weekend. Even though there are cameras in the front entrance and back, they can't keep your personal possessions safe. If you are a current tenant, please research how many times the police are called to this location because of theft. If you think that the management team at this location is helpful in this type of situation, you will be disappointed. The best thing you can do is find a location that offers safety and keeps your personal possessions out of the hand of criminals. There are numerous complaints of brake-ins at this location and yet, very little has been done to keep your personal possessions safe and keep criminals out. My personal opinion is that PS stands for POOR SERVICE. read more

I kept a unit at this location for a year and a half with 2 locks, in December my unit was broken into from the ceiling; the walls in these units do not touch the ceiling, there's a wire across the top of each unit; someone jumped across several units to get to my unit, cut the wire over my unit, & carried out all my personal items in boxes and bins. I have had a unit here for the past 4 months and haven't had any problems. I chose this location over others in the area because it is very well lit inside, stays relatively cool even in the summer, and feels a bit cheerier than some of the other places I toured. Cheerier aka feels less like a place where axe murderers are hiding bodies... Granted I still wouldn't come to visit my unit at 2 am alone. When you lease a unit here you are given a personal ID code. You have to enter it into a key pad to get into the building, and then again if you want to get into the elevator. There are also surveillance cameras in the lobby which is reassuring. While my unit has never been broken into it, and I haven't seen evidence that others have, from other reviews it sounds like it does happen. You are required to have insurance for your unit, but that wouldn't help if you have anything irreplaceable in your unit. My only complaint so far is the cart situation. There are 2 rolling carts you can use to help unload items and move them into your unit. However, neither of them rolls straight and they are frequently not available. On my most recent visit I was the only car in the parking lot, yet neither of them were free. I think they should invest in a couple new carts and then make people actually check them out and back in again. Rather than letting people just leave them whenever when they're done using them. read more

Just moved out of this place, was called and informed they viewed their cameras and saw us put two small mattresses at the dumpster, was threatened with collections for the fee, not even a day after move-out. Funny thing is (but not really), our unit was broken into about a year ago, and their "cameras" caught nothing...sounds like the break-in was an inside job then. The common areas are not cleaned very well and exterior security doors are always broken. Make a better storage move and go to the new Cube Smart Storage up the street. read more

I was told my rent would be prorated about a month b4 I was moving out. Went to move out on the 6th and the office person said we don't prorate anymore and I would have to pay for the whole month. the people working are nice until you have an issue then its basically "that's just the way it works". and just try to get a hold of someone in corporate, you will die b4 that happens. never answered email. Awful, awful, awful!! Take heed to my experience and BEWARE before moving into this storage facility location or doing business with Public Storage. I have been using storage for 10 years as I live in a condo, and I have never had as terrible of an experience as I have had with this company in 4 short months. I moved in on February 8th for an agreed upon rate, then received an email on May 31st that my rate would be increasing by 50% effective July 1. When I called, Dymond the property manager stated when you move in your rate can increase between your 6-12th month. First and foremost, that is just an awful way to treat customers after they have moved in. Like I said, I have never experienced that in my 10 years of renting. It very much screams greed. Furthermore, do the math folks February 8-July 1 (when the new rate is to take effect is not 6 months!) When I inquired about this with her she said it was a system issue since I made my reservation (not moved in be reminded) on 1/28, that 1/28 is technically my anniversary. When I inquired to speak to someone to make sense of it all she refused to provide an email or contact. Only a 1-800 number. This company is unethical and this location has the worst customer service. What a horrible business practice to lure people in and then bait and switch. I do not rent at this site but everyone needs to know the following about Public Storage. I rented a unit in December now after four months they have increased the rent 20%. Also they are promoting and offering my old rate on line. Yes the contract is month to month but this is clearly a sucker play on the part of Public Storage. When I contacted customer service the two individuals I spoke to were completely reading from the corporate handbook on how it was my tough luck (Thank you Ken and Erica). Be very careful using Public Storage as they are clearly not reputable. Once you move in they have you and apparently will do anything afterwards. My advice is to look elsewhere. read more

She is very professional, nice and efficient. The place is spotless and obviously run very well. I have had a horrible experience before at the Sandy Springs location, but the cleanliness, convenience, and most of all the amazing staff at this location were exceptional.
