Just moved in for a couple months and planned to be out in October but they auto drafted me early in the month due to the first months proration before I thought i had to be out and don't want to be reasonable and offer a refund even though it was only a couple days after they drafted me so I just lost $200. Not too happy. Most other units I've been involved with had at least a few days grace period. They want to be all firm and keep your money. Just bad business practice and service. read more

The woman in the office is not friendly, curt and unhelpful. We've visited the office twice now and hope we never have to deal with her again. On our first visit, she showed us a unit close to the main office. we asked if we could get that unit and she said we'd have to go online to get that lower price and would not have the ability to choose which unit we'd prefer. I said I wouldn't feel safe with a unit in the farthest area away from the office. She then said, "we don't have problems around here." She saw the displeased look on my face and then said we should make the reservation online and then call her. Well, we made the reservation, we're assigned a unit in the very back, exactly where we said we didn't want to be, and then instead of calling, we went to see her in the office. She now says she can't change the unit for us. Furious! As an older woman, I will not feel safe going to the unit assigned and I don't want my young daughter going there alone either. The unit will be used primarily to hold furnishings for my daughter as she transitions from college to a new job and new home soon. Why would it be such a big deal to let us switch to the unit we'd prefer. Both unit are open! I'm tempted to eat the money we paid so far and drive much further away to use another company. read more

Smooth and fast experience. Booked it online. Used my phone to open the gate (no keypad touch needed) I had a lock with me so I had to return theirs. They immediately refunded the $20. I did pay for the insurance for $15. But they said I could waive it or it may be covered by my home owners. Very up front and fast. read more

Went there to rent storage today, here's what happened: 1. Dee the lady who works there was eating so we had to wait outside for 30 minutes sitting in the car. In fairness to her, she said she is required to clock out and stop working for a 30 minute lunch, and did come out and get us when she was done. 2. They want a partial inventory of what you will store. I asked why they needed it, she said that some items are prohibited. I asked what they were, and she replied with the typical items like flammables, paints, etc. I told her we had none of that, just some household items. She said she was required to ask us the questions about what would be in the storage and continued down a checklist "books? clothing? " etc. 3. After the interrogation, we went with her to see the unit and agreed to take it. She immediately put a round body lock on it and said the lock would cost $20. I said we would provide our own lock, she said it cannot be a padlock. Why not, you might wonder, as I did? Well, they had 70 units just robbed at once, people cut off the locks. HOLY SECURITY FREE ZONE BATMAN! So I told her we had our own lock like the one she put on the door, so she said we need to put it on now, as it's required to have a lock immediately. Since I was unable to pull the lock out of the air, and did not have it on me, we had to buy the lock. 4. Venturing back inside, she tossed a brochure for insurance onto the counter and asked us which plan we wanted. Uh, none of them thank you. Sorry, not allowed, we have to have insurance. And, since I did not have a copy of my homeowners insurance with proof that THAT storage would be covered, add another $11 mandatory. Hmmm, I see a pattern developing. 5. Paperwork not signed yet (thankfully), but swipe goes my credit card for $57 and change. What's that? Your computer system didn't apply the charge to my account? Sure, I can check my bank with my phone and VOILA, there it is, the charge. What's that? You need to call Matt, your boss, and ask him what to do? Sure. Matt tells her that they need to charge our credit card AGAIN, and they will refund one of the charges "later after they go through". No, better idea, how about you just figure out how to apply that charge you already have to my account. Matt says no, I "need" to pay again if we want the unit. 6. The door barely misses hitting me in the butt as I walk out of the office. Seems I didn't "need" to do anything, including business with them. 7. Call bank, charge immediately reversed. 8. Write a review on Yelp to help others avoid getting screwed by this place. =============== UPDATE =============== A few days after posting the above review, I was contacted by Matt, a manager with Public Storage. We had a long and pleasant conversation about my experience, and he seemed to truly care about what happened. I feel it is only fair to provide some information from him here to supplement my review. Further, because of this call and professionalism, I have increase my rating from 1 star to 2 stars. Locks - he stated the special round type of security lock is not required. A lock IS required immediately once the location is rented for safety and security reasons, but it can be a padlock. Break-ins - He advised there was not a rash of break-ins as I had been told. He further indicated that he could only surmise that Dee was relaying some other incident (she has been with the company for 13 years), but this location, nor any he knew of, had had such an occurrence during his tenure with the company. Insurance - He informed me that insurance is not required, and a waiver can be signed that we choose to have no insurance. Also, if we have homeowners insurance that covers the storage, it is not required to present such coverage. read more

I strongly suggest you DO NOT rent from this location. The people in the office are rude, and God forbid you miss your due date by 2 or 3 days they cut your lock. I am on social security disability and DO NOT get paid until the 4th to 5th day of the month. Rent is due on the first without exceptions, and if they don't have money by the 5th they charge you 15 to 20$ more. How can I pay when I don't have it. I asked to move my due date to the 6th they refused. The cost of the unit keeps going up every few months and now in September they want to raise it it $125 a month or $1500 a year. Have been renting at this facility for more than 18 months at time of review. Very pleasant personnel working here. My main issue is safety of my possessions. Frequently, like this morning, the back gate is wide open allowing anyone to roam the property. Management has told me they have fixed the gate multiple times. Apparently, it is a temporary fix each time. Also, the on-site cameras don't work so you can't even see what is going on after hours. I'm mostly positive on the business since it is very convenient to me for access and it is off the beaten path a bit. When I have an issue they are fairly responsive. Frequent price increases may turn some people off as well. Just hoping they get up to speed soon on fixing the security issues. read more

Rude & nosey staff. I reported a smell of fuel/fumes kn my unit, nothing was done for over a month. I had to call the customer service number. Also had to climb the fence to get out because the gate works when it wants to. After reporting that, the gate has just been open for 2 months. I have over 50k of equipment stored and gate is just open for anyone to come and go as they please. One time i made a late payment and she asked me if i could wait until the next day to have their lock removed from my door. Ummm, no, i paid you today, so remove the lock today. On top of all of this, I just received an email saying my payment is going up $50, with no explanation, just more money. I am in a way stuck at this facility because of my unit size & needs. read more

Many people who rent a storage unit are at important transitions in their life. After my mom passed away prematurely, I rented a storage unit to store many of her belongings that I hoped to one day use. These were precious and delicate items that were worth more than any amount of money to me. Dee, the property manager, was an angel throughout my entire experience. The move in was easy and she answered all my questions about insurance and security. Whenever I visited to access my unit, the property was clean and tidy. At one point a billing error occurred that was a simple technical difficulty. Dee personally followed up with me to ensure that it was resolved and that I was treated fairly. When it was finally time to move out, Dee guided me through the process and made sure I did everything as safely and cheaply as possible. The most important thing I want to say is that Dee is the kind of manager that treats you like a person. We have all been in that situation where we feel like a company doesn't see our humanity, only as a dollar sign. Dee saw my humanity. She was a comfort during a really tough transition for me. I needed a climate-controlled unit on very short notice due to Corona Virus complications. Dee took care of everything in short order. When I complained about the mandatory insurance requirement she told me exactly what I needed to do to have my own insurance cover the requirement. I went home and did that then returned to complete the action. She was not in the office (caring for another customer at a different site) so I just left the paperwork under the door. She called me as I was driving home to tell me that I needed to sign the scanned document on her electronic system. We are moving out as quickly as we can after they kept raising our monthly rent. The rent went up $33 in less than a year, in 2 increments, so it was less 'painful'. They do want they can to get you in, then take advantage and raise the monthly rent. This all started when Public Storage took over. But hey, we got a nice new shiny yellow rope on our door. Ever since public storage took over things have been a nightmare for my parking. I have a big work trailer I had parked there for years. They allowed people to park in my paid spot and block my end parking spot so many times I just gave up and pulled all my stuff out. When the old owner had this place we never had a problem. My rent has increased 33% in just a year and a month's time. From $196 in Feb of 2015 to $261!!!! Outrageous! I was here before Public Storage took over. I called customer service at public storage and talked to Brenda. Not at all empathetic, sympathetic or any of the customer service traits one should possess. She was all about saying that Public Storage is doing me a favor keeping my rent so low because if I moved out they could get a lot more than I'm paying! Well so much for loyalty. I will move out as soon as I'm able and when I do move my things to my new city, you can be sure it won't be to a public storage facility. GO ELSEWHERE!
