Public has a wide variety of breakfast sandwiches including my personal favorite: build your own. I love all of the options (INCLUDING A VEGAN SCRAMBLE!). They also have many delicious looking pastries on display (unfortunately I used to see vegan ones but haven't in a while, will continue to keep my eye out!). They also have a wide variety of coffee type drinks available. In my opinion it is pretty spacious for a coffee shop with plenty of seating (including outdoor in the summer), we have never had an issue finding a place to sit even on busy weekend mornings. They have a rewards system based on your phone number which makes it easy without having to remember to bring a punch card. Once in a while they will email or text $5 dollar off coupons so I highly recommend signing up! Street parking but very easy and free all around the area (says a girl who cannot parallel park to save her life). read more

Stopped in to enjoy a late breakfast the day after we got married before leaving for our honeymoon and our food, coffee, and service did not disappoint!! The staff were so incredibly nice to us even though we came in 45 mins before closing. We each got a breakfast sandwich and ended up splitting them because they were both amazing - we couldn't decide which was our favorite! Our lattes were some of the best coffee we've had in Buffalo so far and we kept saying how we weren't sure we have waited so long to try this spot!! Writing this review with hopes management will see and make adjustments -- this place has great potential to be one of Buffalo's best speciality coffee shops! Public serves great coffee and surprisingly delicious donuts. The issue that has been becoming more prevalent over the past few months is on the customer service/management end. The past three times I have visited, I was greeted by a less-than-enthusiastic lady at the register. If I ask any questions about coffee or drinks, it always seems she is inconvenienced by them. Additionally, the cafe is not being well cared for. The floors have been getting worse and worse and the bathroom was very dirty. There are also maintenance issues all around such as shaky tables, broken door hangers, the lock to the bathroom door has been loosened to where you can peer in. On top of all of that, I was not able to try a pour over because they were out of filters! Cafes like this get a certain niche of customers (like me) because we want to drink specialty coffee and give out business to cafes that care about the specialty coffee space. I truly hope that, at my next visit, there will be some improvement. I'd be happy to change my rating. read more

What a gem! There is so many food options! Donuts, sandwiches, drinks on tap and to go and bagels! I tried the lemon dill cream cheese on a salted bagel. What an interesting combination, highly recommend! I also tried the honey glazed crueller which was moist and sweet, incredible! I'd definitely come back if I am in the area! This place is phenomenal! The service was outstanding and the shop is so fresh and charming. I love the vibe of all the fun colors and deco art. From the tile of the floor to the seat you're sitting in, there is so much thought and personality that went into this place. The bagels are delicious and taste just as good as the NYC goods. I ordered a bacon egg on a garlic Tuscan bagel and my boyfriend ordered it on a rosemary bagel. Both were fantastic and prepared/seasoned just right. The music playing inside was appropriately played at the right level. I love that everyone was happy to help and enjoying their role at this location. Love that young adults around my age can enjoy their craft and share their passions with others. I would come here again just to hangout and try all the other menu options. They have bagels, donuts, sandwiches and of course coffee/tea. The chai was delicious! It has such a spiced flavor profile but mellowed out by what I think was apple cider. If you're out and about in South Buffalo, you definitely want to pop in here to refuel... Lots of donuts, coffee/tea themed drinks, a hearty amount of good breakfast and trendy/healthy items available on their menu This is a bright, open space, where employee choice music flows from a nice Bluetooth supported speaker. I serendipitously found myself turned onto a new band or two while waiting for my drink. They also have a "gift corner" with unique gifts (Star Wars, 80s memorabilia, & of course, coffee and coffee themed gifts. Order at the bar & the staff will prep & hand or later deliver you your drink and/or simple food. Seating is mostly at open tables however there is also a small " lounge" with a loveseat and a couple club style chairs. If you're here to get a little work done, the "bar" area is close to the kitchen (elite tip) has USB compatible outlets under the counter for customer convenience. Of note (either negative or positive, depending on your viewpoint) there are some "hip & hot" items available that you will not find on the menu. Until their leadership makes updates, be certain to ask the barista if there something you're craving but don't see it listed on their menu. In our case, my companion and I both had unusual cravings (turmeric golden milk for me & London fog for my companion). We both ordered our left (or right?) of center items from the invisible menu. The quality of those "off menu" items did not knock our socks off, however the amazing hospitality & incredible customer service the employees provided us did! BTW, we visited during their limited holiday hours & felt so welcome that we didn't even realize we stayed until almost the absolute last moment they were open. Phenomenal drinks and donuts but the WiFi is always acting up and takes forever to connect to (if you're even able to connect). If they fix the WiFi signal and clean the shop it would be a solid five stars. The upholstered seats are especially dirty and always covered in crumbs and stains. I'm not the biggest Public Coffee Espresso user. But I love they are locally based, do pop ups all over and now have committed to this up and coming area. This building renovation has been remarkable. This is the latest edition to it. I came on a holiday, so it was fairly busy . It's a large space, nothing to absorb sound - why do so many places do that? - but at least the music wasn't so loud you have to shout. They had plenty of employees working. Public Espresso had friendly staff, tasty coffee, and a decent variety of menu choices for the famished. I ordered a Salted Caramel Cruller to share with my hubby and a Chorizo Hash bowl for myself. Ordered and ingested but not pictured, was the cold brew with chocolate milk. Everything was served promptly and the eclectic surroundings gave us a fun ambience to enjoy while having our meal. The dough for the cruller was full of yummy air bubbles, the flavor aromatic and sweet. My only complaint here was that it was somewhat heavy for a cruller and I believe this to be grease-age related. Very difficult to get a cruller both airy and light when it is indeed fried sweet bread. My chorizo hash bowl was shy on the house made chorizo but held plenty of their rosemary potatoes. Very good combined with the eggs and guac, though the guac itself could have been better with more lime juice. Overall, just what the doctor ordered after our night of excess the previous evening. As much as I should know how POS systems and credit cards work (as it's my job), I forgot. James, the owner, called me and corrected what happens on November 8th. He clarified that he went into the POS system and removed the order. By doing that, the transaction doesn't appear on my card. Since I didn't see a transaction, I forgot to realize what happened. There was some miscommunication on my part where I thought James would email and clarify it was done, as sometime the POS system should send a follow-up email. I apologize for the miscommunication and the incorrect interpretation that nothing was done. Thank you to James for being responsive and setting the record straight. In search of a quality bagel sammy in south buffalo led us to this location- it shows as the Bagel Jar on the map so it was a little confusing...(they also have a stand at the Caz farmers market but they were out of bagels that day) 1st thing - it was a hopping Sunday morn here- bright and clean with tables outside - I would describe it as a 'Modern Diner' vibe. Service - like every place post- Covid - was super slowwwwww. Over 30 min to get a bagel sandwich to our mouths even though it is 'counter ordering'. We had two bagel sandwiches- the bagels are boiled NY style and although they had the proper consistency and were huge - I don't think they used any salt. Even the Everything bagel had NO salt and that was super disappointing since I save my carbs for 'the good stuff' The potatoes were perfect- crispy & herbed properly. Regular Brew was Fantastic! Cute Cafe on Seneca St in Buffalo. We were in town for a wedding and the morning after decided to grab breakfast on our way home. Decided to try this place. The food is good....delicious bagels and donuts! So much so my husband, and two other friends went to stand back in line to buy donuts and bagels to bring home. Bagels are made fresh daily. Took two stars off as the seats were VERY dirty. It seems like they have never been cleaned. The tables were fine...it was the seating that was very dirty. Also, service is meh. I ordered a medium pumpkin spice latte and my husband ordered a coffee with cream. We waited over 20 minutes for it. 4 of my friends who ordered the exact same thing behind us got their drinks first...and well ahead of us. We only got ours as we asked the server who was bringing out our breakfast why we hadn't received our drinks yet. He went back to the barista who snapped at him and then she made ours. When I used to live downtown, I would frequent that Public almost daily. Actually, when I came to Buffalo on a job interview, my visit to Public basically sealed the deal ;-). I moved to the Caz Park area and was stoked to find that Public Espresso - Seneca St was a 5 min bike ride away. I love this cafe location. During the week, it is an excellent place to work remote and on the weekends, it's bustling. The staff is AMAZING - I love the front counter folks - they are just lovely and are usually up for a good conversation. I also love that bagel jar is part of this location because what goes better with Coffee than a bagel (and yes a pastry - but the bagels are delicious) so get on over to Public on Seneca st for a lovely time. read more

I love that public is so close to me, I pass it every day on my walks. Today however was my first time actually in here. The place is big and spacious with lots of seating. The wall art is very cool, def some photo ops to be had. I like that because of covid they have signs on the tables letting you know if that table has been cleaned and sanitized after a guest leaves. I'm not a huge coffee person but I do love an iced coffee any time of year so I got a small iced coffee and decided to give the tofu breakfast sandwich a try too. The staff was really nice and I didn't have to wait long at all for my sandwitch. I took it to go today but would love to eat inside with some friends when I have more time. The coffee was really good but the breakfast sandwich was just meh. I wasn't too crazy about it but it filled me up and was okay, the tofu could be seasoned or crisped up better. I do wish they had more vegan options for food and had better hours but overall it's a really cute coffee spot and I think south Buffalo needs that. read more

This place really is a love hate for me. Buffalo isn't necessarily known for good bagels so i will give it to them to having the best everything bagel in buffalo. My favorite is bruggers bagel but that's all the way out in rochester. I'm a extra cream cheese kinda person and man do they not know what that means. I stopped in for a latte and donuts. The latte was delicious and it was amazing how the steam seemed to come right out of the counter. The donuts were soft on the inside with a crispness on the outside. Really great flavors all around. I didn't eat in, but there were a lot of people there and it was a nice mix of people. The decor was really fun and I look forward to sitting on one of the beautiful couches next time. While I also didn't find the staff overly friendly, they seemed busy, so I am not sure what people really expect. The service by both gentleman working was by far over the top & on point. Ordered 3 donuts- all fresh and good BLT sandwich- sour dough was great, the mayo spread was super good as well. Latte- perfect temp and beautiful latte art- they certainly know what they are doing. I ordered a chai, and it was very peppery but I went with it. The barista came over to ask me about my latte and if it was too spicy, and I told him it was. He insisted on remaking it, as they were using a higher concentrated chai. Finally tried the second location and now this one is by far one of my favorite coffee spots in Buffalo. Located right by Cazenovia Park, this is a quirky and fun little spot that has all of the good food and coffee from the original location but with better parking and a slightly different vibe. The service here is quick and the baristas are friendly. I've gotten a donut here, avocado toast, and of course, coffee and all of it was delicious. There's ample room for a group of people to stop by and there's couches and other spots for those just looking to get some coffee and read or do work. A great stop in South Buffalo! read more
