Delicious Pizza. I got double cheese and double pepperoni added sausage. Everything is fresh. The kids love it.

Not sure which menu item I like the most here at the Pub N Sub. The sub sandwich, my favorite is the #1, pizza my all time favorite, I love the Tree Hugger, my grandson loves a cheese pizza, You can't go wrong with a good old fashion burger, I get mine with garlic fries and a side of ranch. The food here is the best in town. Fresh whole ingredients. The staff are always so nice. Not sure who likes the beer garden most, the kids or the adults. My family loves the Pub N Sub. read more

Classic Reno! Great location. Best place for a hangout. Excellent food! Awesome specials, tried and true combos. The outside patio is great for spring thru fall. Great inside for watching sorts! read more

Had a sub here for the first time. Decent. I'm going back to pizza next order however. Similar sub vibe for Port Of Subs. Quality of the ingredients was good. Options were good. Value for the dollar? So so. I do however love the pizza so it gets high marks for that. The fact it isn't super busy during the lunch hour makes it a nice option too. read more

I ordered a pizza for delivery, and thats what my review is based on. I guess i should pay this place a visit, to truly give it a fair review, but until then, this is my 2 cents. Phone order went off without a hitch. Prices are about right for a gourmet pizza place, more expensive than Dominos, but worth every additional dollar. I bought a 4 item pizza, and it was at my door in half an hour. It was delicious! Crust, cheese, everything was really fresh and good! I ordered sausage and it was great! If you are not a fan of fennel in your sausage, order it here. No fennel i could find. The delivery guy brought me some crushed red peppers, and he was really nice, and prompt. When i gave him my 20% tip, he actually seemed appreciative, which is more than can be said for many food service workers in the area. I will be going back, and try a sub there at some point! read more

It's a frat joint if that's your vibe. Pizza here has always been great and they have some good beers on draft too. We like to sit on the back patio which has a bit more space to spread out than the inside. read more

Huge fan of pub n sub! I come most Thursdays for the $5 pitchers. It's usually packed, and although that can be a hassle at times, they seem to manage it pretty well. A few weeks ago I came and only wanted three wings..... I know it was a weird request but the guys were soo cool about it and even let me have them on the house. It was a really funny experience that made me feel a much more personal connection to the business. read more

We came on a Sunday afternoon. Still avoiding the place at 1661 North Virginia Street since the arrogant new manager was kind enough to un-invite me and my group of friends after 15 years of patronage. Don't offer a narcissist bully constructive criticism, they are unable to accept it. Back to Pub-N-Sub, our order included one French Dip, one Smokey Melt. a dozen wings and a 2 topping pizza. Everyone agreed that the food was good but not over the top good. The pizza crust was amazing. The service was good. The place is clean enough. The prices are reasonable. There are so many places in this area that can be a sports bar by day and a college party spot and "in-crowd" hang out. This place seems to be working that out in a good way. read more

Please try Their pizza! The cheese steak sandwich was alright. It was a little soggy and cheese. The fries were good. It almost made me contemplate giving them a 4 star. The reason that I am giving pub a 4 star this time is because their pizza is some of the best in Reno! If you just look at their pizza and service and vibe this place is a five star! read more

Always a great spot for pizza and a beer before a UNR game. Food is good quality and the service friendly. I've been going there since the early 90s it's a locals favorite for sure. read more

I love this place. Have been going since 2013 when I first got to Reno. Quality has always been 10/10, service has always been amazing, and we loved the outside area when we had little gatherings. Since moving away from the university I only wish they expanded their delivery area or were available on food share apps. read more

Whoops, I've somehow never reviewed this UNR area classic! I've tried multiple items off of their menu over the past few years and have enjoyed all of them, but I will say that the pizza shines above the other options for me. Service is fine, you order at the counter, give your name and then pick up your sandwich at the front counter or any hot items from the back counter when they call your name out. They have a large backyard set up with picnic tables and a few up on a deck by the entrance (this area is dog friendly). The prices are a little higher than I prefer but definitely not unheard of. Cold beer, warm/cold sandwiches, pizza, and a good ranch dressing for dipping... what more can you ask for? read more

I used to come here many years ago, before I moved away. Now that I live in Reno again, thanks to the help of Yelp, I am once again enjoying this fine establishment! After enjoying the stormy Yelp summer patio party, I remembered how awesome this place is! Steve, the owner, reminded me at the event about the rich history of this little place! I am once again hooked! Their pizza is delicious and their subs are delicious too! Josh is awesome at the bar! He has a great attitude and is easy to chat with. The Treehugger is a great choice, but the Combination is just as yummy! The beer is ALWAYS cold and they have a fine draft beer selection . They stay open late nights and that's a good thing! Whether it's after a sports event or just because you are craving some good munchies, Pub N Sub is always a great idea! Stop in and say hey to Josh! read more

Love this place, and love the pizza. This place reminds me of being back in college at UC Irvine. Cheap beer and cheap food. They had a happy hour pizza special, a personal pizza for four dollars, and if you came in thirty minutes into happy hour, you pay a additional 30 cents. We ordered a medium sized pizza, a combo with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and black olives. It was delicious. The crust was soft, not to chewy, and the pizza sauce was great. There was a abundance of each topping. The pizza sagged with the weight and had to be supported. Looking forward to coming back. read more

I love this place. They have the best vegetarian sub. It's so simple, but it's fresh and delicious.

Smokey Melt is amazing! I've had 100 of these over the years and it's always great! This place is so convenient to visit for lunch from the hospital where I work. I need to visit on a day off sometime so that I can sit and enjoy the atmosphere. It's my kind of casual relaxed vibe. read more

We came here for dinner yesterday and it was a great place to eat . We were staying at a casino for the night and wanted to eat somewhere that wasn't as crazy as it was where we were staying. So my wedding anniversary came around and my husband was out of town fishing. Now many of you ladies might think that's a bad thing, right? Well not me I can celebrate anytime. Anyway, in trying to stay focused here... I still went out but I took our son Austin out to dinner. He ordered a turkey sandwich and I had an Italian sausage sandwich. My sandwich was quite the experience I must say. I was expecting a sausage link and what I got was a sandwich with crumbled sausage. While the taste was good it was difficult to keep it all together while eating it. Very sloppy. My sandwich came with fries, however there was an excessive amount of salt on them. While I don't have high blood pressure, I am quite certain I would should I eat them more often. I would come back but probably try something else and ask for saltless fries read more

Pub N' Sub is the spot to be! This joint has been around for years serving the community delicious pizzas, subs, wings and ice cold beer! They do many deals on certain days and my favorite is Thursday nights! College night you can get a pitcher of PBR for $5 and wings for 50 cents a piece. The college crowd definitely takes over the place on Thursdays. Wings are bomb, but my go-to is the tree hugger pizza. Straight deliciousness. Go check them out if you haven't been! read more

This is a favorite spot for 3 generations of my family. We love the subs. Really the best in the city if you ask me.

The literally speaking watering hole in the neighborhood, it's fun, it's local, it's young. The Good: philly cheese steak, there cold subs, cheap drinks, beer garden, the people, jalapeño ketchup, The Meh: can get super noisy, plastic picnic tables, when it gets busy they under or over cook occasionally. They charge extra for pickles and pepper The Bad: nothing Overall is a boss place, you'll enjoy it whether it's for the pizza and subs for your kids or to hang out drink and meet new people, always a mixed crowd, never have a bad time. Except that one time I ate a double pastrami and cheese but that was my own damn fault and it was friggin delicious f read more

February 21, 2016 Sunday - 2:15 PM for a late lunch 2 adults Atmosphere - 4 stars Food - 5 stars Service - 4 stars Background - My friend picked the place out and I agreed with his choice. Atmosphere - Part of the University of Nevada campus life. I never attended but this clearly a popular hangout for the students. Food Drinks - Lagunitas Day Time. My Main Course - I had the sub, which a perfect lunch for me. I had the #1. These are old subs. They make their subs the way it was done before Subways ruled the land of sub shops. I love it. This was a solid sandwich and reminded how subs were, and how good they were. Service -You wait in line to get to the register to take your order. Some of the menu board is covered with other signs hanging from the ceiling. So you need to work your angels to read all board. You place your order, collect your money, and you can even pay for your beer before going to the bar. There are too many choices without looking at the wall of beer bottles and taps. When you food is ready they call your name and you just pick it up. Future - Sure. read more

Nothing has really changed here in at least the past 30 years except for the rotation of students, employees and patrons to the establishment. All of the Decor for the most part seems to be exactly the same as it always has been. Few things have been replaced over the years like the soda machine and that's really about it. Met a business partner here for lunch, also an alum of the area. We both frequented this establishment in high school and college. I ordered a Philly cheese steak and a side of cheese fries. Knowing the typical routine to place the order at the front counter, pay, then the order gets walked to the back counter and they eventually call your name for your order. Same story, just like the countless other times here through the years. Today my Philly cheesesteak came out in about 10 minutes, but my cheese fries took 30 minutes to make it to the table. By this time I wasn't really hungry, but I ate them anyway as they looked really good and tasted really good! All in all everything was fresh, hot and made to order. Lunchtime crowd seems like a mix of executives and construction workers, with very few students partaking during this time. Service was friendly and other than the delay on the fries pretty well on point. Inflation seems to of hit the Pub and Sub pretty hard, as the prices do seem to be higher than I remember. Good grub and great memories of this place. Always happy to swing back in for a walk read more

Pub N' Sub - Magic happens back there! - Pizza Near Me - Reno, Nevada

Delicious pizza and wings , beautiful backyard ,friendly staff . Nice music my kids loved 5 stars

I like this place. The location makes it to where there are less people since it's off the path. I like how they offer sandwiches, pizzas, and appetizers. There is a bar in the back serving beers on tap and bottled. No mixed drinks. The business has picnic tables throughout for dining and a pool table near the front door. This is a great place to grab a beer and a bite. I popped a tire today in front of their business. I was ok with the tire situation because I knew I would soon be happy with pizza and beer in my belly. Sure enough the stop did the trick. I walked out feeling satisfied and not obsessing over the 50 min walk ahead of me. Thanks Pub n' Sub! read more

I finally stopped in the other day to grab a sandwich for lunch. There is a few parking spots up front, but you're mostly on your own to find a spot on the street. As I walked up to the door, I noticed that they were building a nice looking deck. I headed straight for the deli counter to check out the menu. I decided to go with a whole #4 on white sans tomato and salt. The girl who took my order quickly made my sandwich, wrapped it up in thick butcher style paper and put it in a handy sandwich sleeve/bag to go. $9.21 with tax for a good sized sandwich. The reason I'm going with three stars is because the sandwich was just ok. The bread was a little tough for white bread, it was similar to some sourdough breads I've had at other sandwich shops. The toppings seemed to be fresh and tasted ok, but nothing really stood out to me. I'll return sometime to try the pizza or other offerings, but for now, I'll stick with one of my other go-to's for a quick sandwich at lunchtime. read more

Pub N' Sub - #4 - Pizza Near Me - Reno, Nevada

This was such a college staple for me. I used to love walking distance and lived off of their huge selection of salads and sandwiches. They're huge, delicious, fresh and cheap! I recently rediscovered them after not visiting for years, and they still don't disappoint! Every pizza place must be judged by their ranch. And they pass 100%. Dipping fries and fried Zucchini sticks in their ranch is a must. Their dining room inside is compact, hard to move around and the benches aren't the most comfortable. But when it's warm and their outside dining is open, it's much nicer. Very roomy and has an excellent atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I always ask way too many questions and they've never made me feel bothersome one bit. There's a reason this place has stuck around for so many years! read more

Pub n Sub. What could I possibly say about Pub n Sub that hasn't already been said? Pub n Sub is great on game day, great on graduation, great for hangovers, great for post-finals beers, great for pre-finals beers, and is even great for no real occasion at all. I've been twice recently and each time, they've been consistent. The pizzas are nice and big, their wings are tasty, and their fries rock too. I would happily give this place 5 stars if they sold liquor, but for now I'm just happy that they serve White Claws. read more

I am so happy my girlfriend brought me here. What an amazing little hidden gem! They have an abundance of food choices, the staff was sweet; it's very rare you go somewhere and there is happy employees. I can't wait to bring my husband back here. Such a classic. If you're in north Reno it's such a great place to grab a beer and a pizza. Their sandwiches are also very tasty.

Boyfriend, friend, and I were in the area and hungry at 10pm from skipping dinner. I was also craving wings pretty hard, so we Yelped some places around the area and decided on Pub N Sub for pizza, wings, and beer. I'm really happy that we found this place and will definitely be back when we're in the area again! FOOD: 5/5 When we got there, they told us they ran out of wings. Disappointing, but we decided we could just go for the pizzas instead. At 1/2 price all pizzas on Monday, pizza here was sooooo cheap and just awesome in the taste department: $12 for a sweet and savory BBQ chicken pizza, with tasty fixings like tomatoes (not roasted to oblivion, but perfect sweetness and juiciness inside a toasty skin), red onions (sweet but not overpowering), and plenty of chicken (not even ONE PIECE was dry) on a perfect honey crust (not papery thin crispy crust, but not at all bulky and starchy - just a great balance). DRINKS: 5/5 The Full Sail pitcher was also reasonably priced at $11, and the bartender was nice enough to let us sample some of the beers on tap before we made our selection (they had some interesting beers we hadn't tried before). Glasses came ice-cold :) SERVICE: 5/5 Wonderful! Even though we got there at 10:35pm, just 25 minutes till closing time, the staff did not rush us in any way and didn't interrupt us at all throughout our meal. They actually still thanked us cheerfully as we left at 11:30pm. They also didn't charge for Ranch and gave our table more than enough (I use A LOT of Ranch on pizza, and usually have to ask for more/buy more), which is an A+ in my book. DECOR: 3.5/5 The building itself was scary and intimidating, especially at 10:30 at night in a poorly lit area. When we ventured inside, the interior was cozy and interesting; there was one pool table ($0.75 per game), the wooden slab ceilings were cool, and the random mugs hanging by the door was cool. However, the greenish floor was a bit ugly, and all the tables were covered in red-checkered plastic tablecloths that weren't exactly clean. OVERALL: 5 stars on both food and service, but 4 stars for decor, for an average of 4.5 overall. read more

First time eating here. Ordered a 10 in combo pizza. It had pepperoni, sausage, black olives, onions, and mushrooms. It was cheesy, hot and fresh! HUGE mushrooms completed the presentation. The crust.....perfect Golden brown with just the right amount of crispness. I really want to try their subs.....I saw a few that people ordered and they look scrumptious! read more

I've tried a little bit of everything on the menu. Here's some of my thoughts... It's a college hangout so expect inexperienced and immature staff. They get the job done but it's annoying to here then complaining about their jobs all the time. Subs are pretty basic. Bad bread, skimpy on the meats and lacking freshness but it is edible. Burgers are probably the best choice here but nothing special. They come hot and served with fries. I just wouldn't go out of the way when we have some great burger options in Reno. Pizza, well it's edible. It's pretty much on par with a round table or dominos. Overall I give it 2 stars. I end up here sometimes for lunch because it's close to the office but I never expect too much. read more

Wandering around Reno late at night at not wanting fast food but also not wanting to go near the casinos I found just down the street from a firehouse this rustic and somehow still modern bar. This is a classic and timeless spot in Reno. I have been here at least 100 times, not only because I live walking distance but because the food is awesome. They can be somewhat overpriced depending on your budget but if you come during one of their deals, like happy and half-off pizza, you can get great food for a great price. I am a huge fan of coming on a nice day, sitting in the back yard and grabbing a combo pizza and a pitcher. They also have tons of great hot and cold sandwiches. The cheeseburger is solid. The reason I didn't give them the full 5 stars is because it can take, at times, a long time to get your food. Other than that, this place is a great neighborhood bar and restaurant! read more

Pub N sub is a cool little local pub near the university. The name of this place tells you what you are going to get, booze and sandwiches. The also serve traditional pub food like chicken wings, fries and pizza. The sandwiches are good sized and yummy, the pizza however was not that great. The bar has a good selection of beer, both draft and bottled. They also offer daily specials and a happy hour. The happy hour is very short, only 5-6. They also have a nice area out back to enjoy your beer or food. They could definitely use a couple more TVs though. Currently they only gave two. All in all it is a fun local place to hang out with friends and enjoy a cold beer, I will definitely be going back again. read more

Pub N' Sub is one of my favorite pizza spots to go to in Reno! Whenever my boyfriend is in town, we always try to make sure this place is on our To-Do List. He and I have both taken our families here, and they have enjoyed it as well. We always get a party size Hawaiian pizza with a side of seasoned fries for the two of us because we love being able to take home the leftovers - no such thing as too much food for us! If you're not feeling pizza or fries, they offer some sandwiches which I have heard are just as delicious! I love their outdoor seating arrangement in the front and the back.
