We checked in with the host and were quoted a 30-minute wait, which ultimately turned into 45 minutes. That said, once we were seated, the food came out pretty quickly. The Fried Brie is always a 10/10! The blueberry compote pairs beautifully with the brie, and I love that it's served with sliced baguette on the side. I ordered the Cacio e Pepe with added shrimp, while my husband went with the Bowen Cheeseburger. Unfortunately, the shrimp was extremely salty. I love a well-seasoned dish, but there's a difference between flavorful and overly salty. The seasoning completely overpowered the shrimp, so I ended up picking it off and enjoying the pasta on its own. The Bowen Cheeseburger was excellent, as always. Just keep in mind that you can't request it medium-rare since it's a smashburger. For dessert, I ordered a slice of cheesecake, which comes with the same blueberry compote served with the Fried Brie. It was delicious and earned a solid 9/10 from me! Overall, the food was great, as usual. Aside from the overly salty shrimp and the longer-than-quoted wait, we enjoyed our visit. I'd absolutely come back, especially for that Fried Brie!

My friend and I stopped by for Sunday brunch, which is from (11am to 2pm), and we were not disappointed! From the gorgeous rose-covered ceiling to the colorful artwork and lively atmosphere, this place definitely passed the vibe check! I ordered the Catfish Breakfast with waffles, while my friend had the Stuffed Salmon. We also tried the Blood Orange Spritz mocktails, which were SO good! Special shoutout to our waitress, Briauna, who was such a gem and gave us some great recommendations! There are several parking options nearby, including a convenient lot directly across the street for around $14 for a couple of hours. Between the food, service, prices, and atmosphere, it's giving 10/10 for me! I enjoyed it so much that their Miami location back home is officially next on my list to try.

We let him know upfront that we were on a HARD stop--we had a flight to catch in about an hour and a half--so we asked how we should pace our meal. He said, "Okay, I got it," and he absolutely delivered! We ate, enjoyed ourselves, and still had time to spare. Excellent service! Now, the food! We had the shrimp deviled eggs--EXCELLENT! We also ordered the lobster mac & cheese, fried catfish, pork chops, black-eyed peas cooked with smoked turkey over rice, collard greens, smoked oysters, grilled shrimp appetizer, wild berry lemon drops, and strawberry lemonade. Everything was delicious. Not one disappointing dish on the table. Then came the bill...$450 for four people, with no dessert. That was definitely a bit of a shock. We realized gratuity had already been added, which helped explain the total, but it still felt steep and took a little of the shine off an otherwise great experience. The food was amazing, the service was on point, and Cam did exactly what we needed him to do. But $450 for four people with no dessert? That part was hard to swallow--and it wasn't the food!

1/5 Stars -- BAM's BBQ, Dallas, TX…read more When I tell y'all this food was TRASH! I mean TRASH! And I don't use that word lightly when it comes to somebody's cooking. Let's start with the ribs. Tough, barely any meat on the bones, burnt, and tasted like somebody marinated them in lighter fluid before drowning them in BBQ sauce. How you manage to burn ribs AND leave them tough is beyond me. The potato salad? Baby, that was mustard with a potato texture. No seasoning, no balance, no personality. Just mustard showing up loud and uninvited. The baked beans were basically pork 'n beans swimming in soup with some chopped vegetables thrown in for decoration. The green beans tasted like they went straight from the can to a pot with some chopped onions and MAYBE a pinch of garlic powder. No love. No soul. No effort. Now, the peach cobbler LOOKED promising. The peaches were actually good! But the moment I got to that crust, I felt like I was chewing on a rubber tire. Pretty presentation, terrible execution. The entire meal tasted like somebody's drunk uncle volunteered to cook for the family reunion, fired up the grill, then fell asleep at the domino table while everything was cooking. And nobody bothered to wake him up! And just when I thought the experience couldn't get any worse, BOTH restrooms were out of order! So not only did I have to endure that culinary catastrophe, I couldn't even wash that sin off my hands! The food was a crime, and apparently there was nowhere on the premises to cleanse myself of the evidence. Lord, have mercy! I'm not expecting fine dining from a BBQ joint. I'm expecting good BBQ, seasoned sides, working restrooms, and food that tastes like somebody actually cared about what they were serving. BAM's BBQ, y'all owe those ingredients AND your customers an apology. Because this wasn't it. AT ALL.

Recently I've seen that it has grown in popularity , so I decided to finally see what it is all about . This was a busy Friday night with lots of people coming. I had no idea the wait time would be that long so we just presented in person. I like the vibe and ambiance here. They have a live DJ playing in the back and sports on the television . Customer service needs room for improvement . Body language, communication both were sub par. Facial expression and the way I got handed the food was received with an attitude . Like I'm the one waiting and paying for the food. Almost felt like they were projecting their feelings towards me. I ordered a burger with side of fries, 10 piece wing(Cajun/lemon pepper). Fries tasted old and dry. Wings were ok. I just feel like I've had better. Burger was more bread than meat. I like the kool aid, sweet but not crazy sweet . For $28 i expected much more . An underwhelming experience. The pros fit this place would be seating, lots of seating, local memorabilia. Cons: food and customer service.

The Cajun Kitchen has been here in the Red Bird area of Oak Cliff for 10 years and this was our first visit. Only open M - F from 11 - 5:30p, this is a busy place. Nearly everything is cooked to order. The Gumbo was terrific. I like mine with okra and peppers and onion that I can SEE and it didn't have that, but their smooth spicy dark roux was delicious. I counted 6 large perfectly cooked shrimp in my pint of Gumbo with some diced chicken and sliced sausage and little bits of ham. I also like garlic bread. But honestly, it's hard to be too picky with something this good! Pint - $10.99 Next time, I'll just get it to go and do what I want to it at home. Lol. We also had the posted special - the Catfish Special for $10.99 The Catfish is some of the best that I've had in awhile! The cornmeal is seasoned to perfection, then the fish is fried to perfection and gently cradled on a slice of wheat bread. Um hm. Wheat bread. OMG. Two perfect pieces were served with some AWESOME red beans and rice. I just wasn't feeling fries and a substitution was made for the most glorious red beans and rice! So very good. A can of soda or bottle of water is included. Whole pickled jalapeños are available for 59 cents each. Yes! Have to have some of those, too. I stuffed myself and then took the rest home. As did my husband. For whatever the dining room may have lacked in ambiance, it more than made up in a good time. The A/C was good, the tables were comfortable and the service was friendly, kind and helpful. There's plenty of parking. They have to go and pick up spaces for food out front. BTW There's both baked and fried fish and chicken which sounds amazing. I hope to try both!

It was ok. It is dark inside. But I love the sit in your car and order and they bring it out to you.read more
