Being American in France is hard, everywhere you go you struggle to communicate. You don't want to live up to the stereotype that many Europeans already have of Americans. When we went to this restaurant we tried our very best to use the small French that we knew. We were nervous while ordering. The attendant, Denise, was beyond accommodating and started speaking to us in English. He smiled, was friendly and very helpful while we were ordering. The food was really good, but if you want great service this is the place to go. We spent about 20 Euros on two sandwiches, a dessert, chips, and a drink. Great atmosphere as well.

Pret A Manger is an excellent place for coffee, pastries, lunch. We ate there very often. Some employees speak English but some don't nevertheless the service was always excellent. This is not a very expensive place. Basically for 10 euros you can get yourself a nice lunch consisting of hot soup, sandwich, drink and a pastry. Paris is a very expensive city so this place can provide you with good budgeted lunch or dinner. I have noticed that around 1 pm it gets super crowded with office workers who I think come there for their lunch.

Love the smoked salmon sandwich which you cannot get at Pret in the US! The location was not that clean though.

He greeted us politely while we were outside browsing the menu and sold us on why we should stay! We were glad we did! I had the linguine pasta and Steven was kind enough to add some roasted chicken to it and it was yummy! I also had the prawns as an appetizer, also recommended by Steven and they were delicious! My husband had the steak and roasted potatoes and my son had a burger and fries. According to my son, the burger tasted how all burgers should taste. He cleaned his plate! Before this experience we had given up on having a pleasant French cuisine experience! Thank you Steven for encouraging us to stay!

He even got my daughter to eat a few more bites of her pasta before coming with the dessert menu. There was no kids menu but he was very accommodating with a few easy options that they would love (9 & 6 yrs old). Interior of the restaurant is beautiful and elegant. Food was excellent. My husband and I had the steak, cooked perfectly to medium, and the best roasted and crispy potatoes. We had a glass of red wine, I don't remember the name but it was our waiter's recommendation and it was spot on.

THE FOOD ------------------…read more+ Escargot/Extra large Burgundy Snails - Fantastic! Lots of flavor and addictively so good. Use the complimentary bread to sop up the oils! = French Onion Soup - Ehhh just OK. Tasted like just your average French Onion Soup. + Duck Confit - Duck leg was delicious and tender with lots of gravy. Scalloped potatoes were a great side for it. + Beef Bourguignon - Phennnnomenal. Arrived in a clay pot and the beef was so tender and flavorful. Stewed potatoes and carrots were also in the au jus and flavorful too. Wish I had something (other than the bread) to soak it up! + Lasagna Bolognese - Tried a littttle bit of it and it was solid. Can't say it was much different than other good bolognese dishes I've had, but it was good. THE SERVICE ----------------------- + Seated quickly for our Sunday evening resy. - Food took a litttttle too long to arrive. + Waiter was very friendly. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ + Small restaurant, but has quite a few tables inside and noticed that parties without a reservation were still immediately seated. + Was busy for a Sunday evening at 5:30-7 PM, but there was always a open table or 2. The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

As a Chinese, I understood more than 50% of the conservations (Chinese). Which doesn't mean anything about the food. Just observation. Onion soup - 2 stars. First, the cheese failed to emit the baked, melted gruyere cheese, there is no aroma at all. I don't think they used gruyere cheese. May be mozzarella cheese. The worst part was the bread in the soup. It tasted stale which ruin the flavor of the soup. I had to finish without the bread. Escargot - Another disappointment. What made escargots special was the garlic butter and herb. Here, there were the herbs, no garlic, and French is famous with their butter but I taste oil but not buttery. Other places I actually get excited dipping the bread into the garlic butter but not here. Pan seared Foie gras - The quality of Foie Gras was definitely there. It's not as well seared as I hope but they managed to cook it through without overcooking it. The size of Foie Gras is kind of scary, it's like a small piece of rib eye steak. With just the onion soup and Foie Gras, I could barely swallow anything. Generous portion.
