What a steal for lunch in Paris! I loved the bread with pesto and cheese because that's the best combo. The tuna pie was a pastry shell with tuna. Nothing special but filling and packed with protein. Chocolate mousse is not something I ever order but my only other option was a muffin and this seem more worth it. My friend had the muffin and I tried it; it wasn't dry nor too sweet. Cafe madam serves up typical American breakfast like egg benny, scramble eggs, and yogurt parfait. Their bread didn't come with any butter or jam. My eggs florentine Benny was just ok while my husband's BLT was a disappointment. It was oozed with honey mustard that overpowered the taste of the the sandwich. I literally helped him scrap off 3 tbsp of honey mustard off his bun. All egg dishes were served with a side salad drenched in with your typical balsamic vinaigrette. Not impressed. We gave Cafe Madam a try after reading the positive Yelp reviews and longing for a more substantial breakfast. While some of the other comments are right in saying that the location is in a bit of a seedy area, it's well worth the trip. There are lots of neat little restaurants opening on this street. Perhaps the rent is cheap? Anyway, Cafe Madam opens at 10AM and we were waiting outside like creepy American tourists. When the doors were opened, we were the first in. First things first, they have an English menu, which was great. We were the somewhat stereotypical tourists that don't speak French and found that Cafe Madam was super friendly and helpful for us (certainly not the case in many other Paris locations). We split the #3 big breakfast. For 21 euros we got a basket of assorted bread, jam, nutella, butter, a yogurt parfait with granola, fresh squeezed juice, my mind escapes me but there may have been a salad in there, a cappuccino, and eggs benedict. They were so nice and let us split the entire breakfast between two of us. The orange juice was the best OJ I've ever had. It had to have been freshly squeezed. The eggs benedict was also pretty great. If you are in Paris and longing for a breakfast that's not just a croissant or some espresso, or even if you are just trying to find a place for breakfast with a friendly face (no matter what language you speak) give Cafe Madam a chance. I went here in the week for lunch and it was one of the loveliest experiences I've had in a while. I don't whether its the sunshine yellow coffee machine or the smiling face behind it but there is just something about Cafe Madam which radiates happiness! The food as well as the decor have such a homely feel to it and the lovely lady who runs the place makes you feel immediately at home. The food was delicious - we ordered the lunch menu which cost an astonishingly reasonable 12 euro for tea/ coffee, soup, sandwich & a dessert! Everything was homemade and absolutely delicious. Very cute cafe with a lovely host, who makes you feel welcome withOUT the common Parisian attitude. They have an extensive menu, lots of it sourced from local, well known bakeries. We got a cinnamon bun and it was tasty but a little gooey. For me, the sign of a good latte is that it's drinkable without sugar. This one surely was, but it wasn't as good as other cafes. I think they're recently opened, so still have to get their methods down, but certainly a place to get a good coffee in the neighborhood! Perhaps not worth a travel across Paris. They have anglo breakfast options like eggs benedict and a weekend brunch. This place was not only a life saver for some "American" breakfast it was also just so good! Go big and get the €21 breakfast, it's a feast of coffee, juice, egg sandwich, fresh fruit bowl ( good fruit too not just cantaloupe and Like 1 piece if pineapple) breads with various Jelly and Nutella. Cafe Madam is cute but a bit pricey for what you get. You have three brunch combos to choose from as well as a la carte, for the combos prices start from 17-22 euros. I got brunch no. 1 (17 euros), which includes an espresso drink, your choice of OJ or grapefruit juice (looks fresh squeezed), yogurt with granola (this was very good), side of fruit and a basket of bread with jam, Nutella and butter. The sister got the most expensive at 22 euros which includes all of the above and your choice of an eggs benny. The espresso drink is was nothing to write about, pretty bitter and not smooth. The food was ok, but honestly, I'd rather pay this kind of price for brunch at sqirl or republique. The service was nice, they speak English.
