Cappuccino
Mark B.

Went here after we couldn't get in a popular brunch spot. The specialty is eggs Benedict and that's what we ordered. I ordered salmon with spinach. Also had some cappuccino. Not bad. It probably needed some seasoning but it was not a detractor in this case. It's other specialty is French toast using brioche.

Interior - So cute!

Delightful little spot! We enjoyed croissants, coffee, huevos rancheros, cinnamon bowl, and the Cali bowl here during our stay in Paris =P I would've loved to try more pastries- they had a banana bread that looked tasty! Service is friendly and the space is very cute and warm. Nice variety of people- a few doing work on laptops. Fantastic people watching on a busy street!

Cute brunch spot with an Aussie feel. Seemed to be full of locals stopping in for espresso and a few for meals. MY bf chose this place with my vegan reqs in mind and it was a great pick. I ordered the vegan rancheros, which was a thoughtful and innovative dish. It was full of textures and layers and each turn of the fork unfolded a new vegetable. The main attractions are the firm blocks of tofu nestled on a bed of saffron rice next to a steamed sweet potato. This is all topped with a tomato and onion-y tasting sauce. All other components of the dish are neatly tucked away and I was pleased as they slowly appeared. Can barely remember at this point, but there were black beans, purple cabbage, maybe even an aubergine tucked in there somewhere and other delightful vegetable surprises packed in. I only wished the dish was hotter. It arrived luke warm. Stop in for the interior design and aesthetics, stay for the creative dishes.

My hangout in Paris! My husband and I found this place per the Yelp reviews and ended up going there almost every morning we were in Paris. It's a small cafe, with lovely staff who speak enough English to help you get by, and the food! The coffee! let me describe what I ate: A vegetarian sandwich that had been grilled in butter, with cheese and peppers and eggplant (I don't even like eggplant) and other veggies and the best seasoned potatoes on the side. Delicious. The huevo rancheros with the most delicious beans, the eggs swimming in a tomato sauce, cheese, crispy kale, rice, it went on! What a mixture of delicious flavors. Delicious charcoal vanilla lattes, fresh squeezed orange juice or other power juice options, tasty croissants, chocolate or plain. I mean, you can not go wrong at this coffee shop. Make it your home away from home in Paris such as we did.

Tasty tasty coffee. Plus there's an SNES so you can challenge the barista to a game of Street Fighter! Republique is one of my go-to's for coffee in Paris. It ticks my main requirements for a solid cafe, and then some. Their vibe is chill, perfect for catching up with friends (the music is at a reasonable volume) or meeting a date. Friendly service. Flying solo? People watch or bring a laptop. There's plenty of seating. Get their Ethiopian espresso for a kickstart, or relax with a noisette or cappuccino. Find Republique of Coffee right by the Republique metro.

Despite the overbearing and mildly depressing thought that this would be my last petit déjeuner à Paris for awhile, I was thoroughly pleased with this cafe/restaurant. I don't know if it was just a beautiful day out that amplified the vibe here but I enjoyed sitting in their window ever so slightly overlooking the street out front with a direct line of sight to the Place de la République making this a perfect people watching place. The staff was friendly-ish and spoke English, seemingly preferably. The place was clean and inviting with a retro vibe to it. I ordered pancakes and loved every piece and adornment that came with them. They were so good that I forgot that I didn't have syrup to go on them. There was a natural (probably the wrong word) sweetness cooked into them. They included strawberries, bananas, fennel seeds, blueberries, pomegranate seeds, and a Greek yogurt topping as well. The mango something juice that I was hyped for tasted very much like oranges juice and for the price I was highly unimpressed with it; not that it was bad, just not worth €6, maybe €2-3. Nevertheless, this is a delightful place to linger and have a great breakfast to go with your espresso.

This is a great place to meet with friends to grab a quick bite and good cup of coffee. I have been several times over the past few years and the service has proven to be quite friendly. The food is fresh and while menu items may seem unusual - I.e. Salmon Tataki with grilled potatoes, couscous and peanuts etc. - it turns out being just right and totally delicious. Coffee and smoothies and juices are a staple there and are delicious. Location is super convenient - right at Metro stop republique off of rue Rene Boulanger.

Avocado toast

Probably the best breakfast we ate during our trip to Paris! We were really pleasantly surprised by the salmon tataki in particular, wonderful Asian flavors in a very non-traditional breakfast dish. Avocado toast was presented beautifully but the salmon tataki was the star! I wish we had time to go back again, the Cali bowl looked really good too!

Republique "Avocado Toast"

This coffee shop is right outside of our hotel, so we went there nearly every day of the week that we stayed on this side of Paris. Everything we've had was delicious - the Golden Latte, the Charcoal Latte, the Red Hot (a fresh fruit juice blend with strawberries and more!), the pastries are yummy! We had the croissant (when we could get them - they run out and since we are here from California, USA, we sleep late), the chocolate croissant, the banana and carrot bread. I had the "Republique avocado toast" which is so much more than what we get in the states! It has tomatoes, baby lettuce, pomegranate seeds, and even sweet potato on the side. The bread is a multi-grain sourdough and it's so delicious! See photo! This is a veggie/vegan place - and so fresh - what a find! And not to forget - the staff is amazing! Very friendly and helpful! Emilie was especially sweet to us and gave us some great places to explore "local" style. Go to this place! Hope you can get a table! (But they also have "take away"!) Note: No decaf - I drank the caffeinated espresso anyway... Hey, it's vacation!

Vanilla charcoal Latte

Must try their Vanilla Charcoal Latte! Very different flavor and it's delicious! Republique of Coffee has many dishes in a bowl form. Even the most simple Avocado Toast was very flavorful and color with many ingredients. The Pomegranate topping have it a little extra! Though it's only one slice of toast and probably will not really fill you up, I recommend to try. My boyfriend got the Huevos Rancheros. They use goat cheese which has a distinct acquired taste, so if you've never had it before you may want to reconsider. My boyfriend made that mistake and couldn't enjoy it as much as he'd like. PS: There is a restroom in the basement!

My iced coffee

Great little cafe to grab some breakfast and a coffee. I loved the atmosphere the most when I went. It felt very trendy and modern. I had French toast and it was DIVINE. I had a charcoal iced coffee which sounded weird but it ended up being pretty good. It wasn't my favorite thing during my trip but it definitely made a great breakfast Overall, I'd say that the atmosphere was my favorite part. Great music, friendly staff, decent food. 4/5

Excellent coffee, but food was mediocre - avocado toast was very cold, probably taken from a fridge and so were the poached eggs.

She told me I needed to get the pain au chocolat as they tend to run out. I got myself the ham and tomato thing as well as a big log covered in chocolate. I ate what I got on my flight back to LA. My friend was right. They make good stuff. I have to commend the person working. She was literally the only person out there. It was quite busy and she had her hands full

Upon entering the bakery, I was greeted by the aroma of butter and the sight of neat rows of fresh pastries. I really wanted to try one of everything, but I was determined to try the pain au chocolat, a personal favorite. Le Grenier a Pain's pain au chocolat was much larger and heartier than others I've tried yet retained its buttery-flakiness without feeling too heavy. I really enjoyed the pillowy texture of the pain au chocolat, which included a generous amount of chocolate folded inside. Paired with a cafe au lait, I was in heaven. The bakery is small yet inviting, and there was no seating indoors or outdoors. While I was hoping to enjoy my pastry on-the-go, it started pouring outside, so I was forced to huddle underneath the awning while I consumed my pain au chocolat. While I'd definitley come back for another pain au chocolat, I would also want to sample their savory pastries on my next visit.

We sat on the second floor but there is seating in the passage way as well. They do have wine in addition to coffee, hot chocolate, and tea. We tried the pistachio tart, the acrulier (like a fancier Ferrero rocher) and Kalingo (a chocolate cake). I had the gunpowder green tea while my sister had the hot chocolate. I honestly liked their hot chocolate more than the one at Angelina. It was rich but not chalky and the perfect amount of sweetness. The pistachio tart was the best one we've ever had and revived our spirits after a long day of walking. You pay downstairs and credit cards are accepted.

This is a two floor establishment. The upstairs floor is a bit cozier and also has a bathroom if needed. I got one of those cozy window seats where I just sat and enjoyed the view while I ate. The menu + payment is all done via QR Code so things are super easy. Also, they have this cool thing where the dishes come up via a machine of sorts from the ground floor to the main floor. Therefore, the waiters don't actually have to go to the kitchen to grab any food. I went ahead and chose the most provocative item: the Avocado Halloumi Benny. Damn that looked like a breakfast I'd get in the US. A nice and generous brioche bread. Generous amounts of Halloumi. The sun dried tomatoes added another bounce to it. The paprika too added the kick I needed. Then you add the egg. It almost felt like heaven. This kept me full till dinner! I washed it all off with a cold brew. I asked for milk too, but the waitress must have gotten confused and gave it to me black. In this case, it probably was better as this easily washed out the immaculate breakfast I had.
