I was scrolling through my Instagram feed and stumbled upon pictures of avocado toast from Paris. Knowing I was going to be going there, I immediately bookmarked the spot and made it a point to go. The interior is super super tight. Hubby and I had a hard time squeezing into our seats haha. I immediately ordered the avocado toast as that was the sole reason why we came here. The toast did take a while to come out but that wasn't an issue. I watched a woman scoop out avocados and mash them in the kitchen which was nice as it's all made to order. However, it didn't have much flavor to it. Slightly bland. The staff are super friendly and the small space is very welcoming (although very tight). Popped into Fragments early one morning to secure a latte. I had a good feeling I'd have no problem finding a non dairy milk alternative here and sure enough they have a homemade almond, macadamia nut milk. We also shared a banana bread slice because why not munch on a slice of bread before walking to the boulangerie for more pain, makes sense to me ;) Great service! read more

An American style coffee shop in the Marais. Very small like a lot of places, 4 or 5 tables, but nice atmosphere and friendly service. Cool and current vibe. Simple, small menu. Like a French cafe, you sit and give your order to the server, then ask for the check at the end, not order and pay first. It's tucked away on a relatively quiet street so not much for people watching and you wouldn't necessarily see it if you weren't walking by or looking for it. We had already eaten as we came after breakfast, but we had to try: the kombucha (daily kombucha drinker) which was delicious; the carrot cake- also delicious; ginger ale- legit ginger ale, and the coffee (iced and hot) both delicious. There weren't any French pastries, croissants etc., there's plenty of that around the city so if that's what you're looking for with your coffee you won't find it here. Would definitely go back for breakfast or anytime just to hang and/or have a coffee. read more

A friend who frequents Paris recommended this place to me, saying it was a super cute, hole in the wall coffee shop. And she was right! It's on a small side street and has a welcoming blue storefront with a few tables on the sidewalk. It's pretty tiny inside, with limited seating, but they found a table for us in the back and we were served quickly. I recommend the apple tart! And the scone, which comes with whipped cream and marmalade to put on it. Both were very yummy. The cappuccino was also quality, complete with a pretty foam design on top. The patrons seemed to be a mix of locals and tourists, probably more locals actually. Super cute place for a morning snack if you're in the area! read more

The most LA shop we've been to. Pretty small menu - maybe 5 items. Avocado toast. Two pretty big slices on whole grain or something. Not bad. Pretty good for what it was, but pricing is pretty steep. Around $14 USD, if I remember correctly with the egg. The egg wasn't poached/soft boiled, so when I cracked it, it didn't run. Super anti climactic. It's good, but not worth the price for what it was. Just guacamole on sliced bread. Liked the bits of onion mixed in, but it's still just guac. Only come if you're looking for something American ish. read more

A++ for coffee, the cappuccino with two shots is so good. The milk is so airy and the espresso is perfect. Maybe my favorite cappuccino in Paris. Everyone seems to rave about the avocado toast, so I tried it. It wasn't my favorite, the bread wasn't toasted and it was a bit flavorless, it needed salt or spices. I wasn't thrilled and didn't love it either. They had so many different pastries I'd love to try some pastries the next time i stop in. The space itself is a bit small, it's long rectangle with seating on one side and the cafe on the other. The employees here are really friendly. It gets pretty crowded on the weekend so make sure to come in early. Also they do not offer wifi, just a heads up! Worth it for the coffee! read more

It's hard to find good avocados and especially avocado toast in Paris. Fragments is definitely one of the best contenders for avocado toast...unless you make it yourself and you're really good at making avocado toast. The menu is in english so they most likely speak english. The ONE thing I'd say is that it's kind of pricey. My friend and I got two two shot cappuccinos and two avocado toasts with egg and I believe it came out to around 31 euro. But definitely give it a shot. It's cool. read more

Fragments is such a sweet place. The porridge is so delicious. The eggs are soft scrambled perfectly and not runny at all. Service was amazing. Tucked down a cute street, the lively energy happens the moment you walk into this shabby chic cafe. impeccably clean place, friendly staff and great playlist might I add. But most importantly, the food and coffee were great. We ordered an iced latte (delicious), the porridge (amazing flavor, very filling and fresh) , and toast with jam and butter (we couldn't figure out the type of jam but loved it and sort of enjoyed the mystery). Definitely the type of place where you have to feel comfortable rubbing shoulders with neighbors, but perhaps that only adds to the atmosphere. read more

Originally, I was planning on meeting some friends at another café, but it ended up being closed. This place was right down the street, so I suggested we come here. In short, I'm glad I did. First and foremost, I was pleasantly surprised to get free water with numerous refills (something that seems quite foreign in Paris), as that's what I'm used to in America. The staff, or at least one staff member, was a native English speaker and very friendly, which was very appreciated. The food offered seemed a bit atypical compared to the cafés I've been to in Paris, but in no way a bad thing. The food was great and fresh, and the tea was perfect. The only minor problem is that some parts of the café can get a bit hot. However, there are certainly areas that are cooler in the café (such as by the fan), and the refills of water certainly help. If I should come back to Paris in the future, this would definitely be a place I would want come back to. read more

This place is really good. It's expensive, but the food tastes great so you get what you pay for. I ordered their scrambled eggs with toast and got a glass of homemade kombucha. Both were delicious. The eggs were creamy, and I think I detected a bit of cheese in them. They're served with two thick slices of a kind of grain toast and butter. The kombucha was better than any bottled kombucha I've had, and I have easily consumed 3-4 bottles in a day before. The space is small so you'll either have to sit very close to others or take your items to go. You order at the register, then sit to eat, and then pay at the register when you're finished. I think they used to be cash only but when I tried to pay with cash today, they asked me if I had credit instead. Only downsides are that cell reception is weak inside, and I don't think they have WiFi though I did see a few people on their laptops. I'll definitely be coming back! They're open 7am - 7pm everyday so this is a great place to grab breakfast or a mid-afternoon snack. read more

Small menu, slightly pricey, tight space. But my oh my their toast is GOOD. -Avocado toast: perfectly seasoned and smashed avocados on thick toast; 9 euros. Probably the best avotoast in Paris (and I've had my fair share!) -Date, honey, and cottage cheese toast: perfect to satisfy that a bit of a sweet tooth; 6 euros. Light and filling at the same time. There's a coffee bar, and they also have a small but yummy dessert selection. read more

Good atmosphere with vinyls playing in the background. The cappuccino was good, the drip coffee was not. I'm comparing it to Portland roasters which have great drip coffee. It was aeropress and should have steeped longer. Go for the vibe and the cappuccino (and prob expresso too). Good Italian style espresso, coffee is highly recommended. Be ware the openning hours. These guys are lazy even in Parisian standards. Advertised hours are 10:30-17:00. (12:00-17:00 Sunday). I came around 11:00 on a week day and the place was still closed. So although the coffee is 5 stars I give the place 4 due to (very) limited availability. read more
