I knew when I put them on and told them I could not read. Second, I asked him about eye pain that I was experiencing. He said it was dry eyes and to use over-the-counter eye drops. No further instructions, no personal attention. His assistant did all the work, he spent 1 minute reviewing her evaluation. A year later, I went to another eye doctor and was told to use 3 types of eye drops 5-6 times per day.

I felt like the various machines prevented me from second-guessing myself. Dr. Alpert himself was very friendly, personable, and asked multiple times if I had any questions about anything we were discussing. For many years, I had gone to a different eyecare center and would get a prescription and then buy my glasses online. By mid afternoon I couldn't bear it anymore and decided to give this place a call. They were able to squeeze me in that day before the office closed. As soon as I walked through the doors, I was greeted by the front staff and given some paper work to fill out. Less than a month after getting these, strange lines appeared on both lenses, almost like the glass was cracking. They replaced the lenses once, and I was told to pay thirty-five dollars, which I did. But just couple of days later, The exact same thing happened again to the new glasses they replaced, but only on one lens. Then I was told they couldn't replace them because I had already used my replacement. The staff also said I didn't have scratch protection which I asked for my receipt and definitely they charged me for it and claimed they had warned me not to leave my glasses in a hot car when I picked them up. That never happened. When I picked up my replacement glasses, they just adjusted them and handed them to me. Nobody discussed heat or gave care instructions. If someone had told me heat could permanently damage the lenses, I would have avoided it. Instead, I spent445 dollars on glasses that I wasn't even able to use, and no one was willing to help. What a Waste of money and time. The optician who assisted me was very rude, unhelpful, and dishonest. Unfortunately, I don't know her name, but she was a tall woman with blonde hair who I spoke with during my last visit when I went to have my lenses replaced. She told me that she had warned me about leaving the glasses in a hot car, but that never happened. I find it extremely disappointing to be told something that simply isn't true straight to my face and not admit that the product is bad or simply replace the lenses or do something that both parties can be satisfied like offering to replace with small charge or any normal business will do other than blaming and lying to me. You could tell they do the same sequence with most of their patients, but I felt cared for and not just another paying customer. They answered my questions along the way and were very descriptive about what a certain test or a certain liquid was for. The procedure took less than 20 minutes and was painless. After the procedure I experienced very little discomfort and after a few days, any discomfort I did have completely went away. I experienced dry eyes for the first week, but since then that has also gone away. Being able to see is the greatest gift and I am beyond grateful to TLC for giving me the gift of eyesight. If you are nervous to get LASIK, know that I was too, but wish I hadn't been so nervous because in the end I had such a positive experience.
