The first thing I noticed, upon walking in was how spacious, clean, and not crowded the office was. Our appointments were back to back; The women working at the front desk were both personable and helpful. We waited maybe five minutes each to be seen...not long at all. I was impressed especially by the technology in his office because my previous eye doctor did not have anything like this. I felt like I was at an arcade, with all of the different machines meant to measure my vision. It seemed like a very thorough exam that didn't just rely on what I said but actual computer technology. I don't know about you, but whenever I'm getting my eyes checked, I almost feel like it's a test and I might be answering it wrong. I felt like the various machines prevented me from second-guessing myself. Dr. Alpert himself was very friendly, personable, and asked multiple times if I had any questions about anything we were discussing. For many years, I had gone to a different eyecare center and would get a prescription and then buy my glasses online. Based on his very thorough exam, and recommendations from the doctor, we went with eyeglasses that did cost a significant amount more than I'm used to paying. However, I do believe that we will get what we pay for when they come in, which is expected to be in the next two weeks The young man who helped us pick out frames was very patient as I couldn't make up my mind. I appreciated that he pointed out some frames that were on sale for us since I was buying two pair and we do not have insurance for them. I really like supporting a local doctor who isn't part of a big fancy conglomeration and I look forward to staying with this practice for many years to come. I just had a really good feeling there today.

I asked about trying contact lenses again after an irritating experience I had with contacts thirty years ago. She listened and provided insightful guidance. Truthfully, I'm a bit leery of anything located in a strip mall but I fully recommend Complete Family EyeCare and Dr. Lippi.

I much preferred the prior business. The single most important thing to this business is charging you $34 for a picture of your eye that's not covered by insurance. This became evident as soon as I scheduled a couple appointments and started getting texts and emails about the (mandatory) $34 test not covered by insurance. Multiple texts and emails whose primary focus was this $34 fee. That should have been my red flag! The former business also "pushed" these pictures but allowed you to opt out. Not anymore. My fiancé decided to cancel her appointment for this reason alone and went to a different local chain instead for her exam, glasses and contacts (and had a better experience than me). I checked in and was called after a brief wait. First a young lady gave me some tests and took pictures of my eyes with different machines (including the $34 one!). She was both friendly and professional. Then she moved me along to another room where I waited for the Dr. The Dr. Came in and did the normal eye exams we've all had; read the lines larger to smaller and then the game of "is this way clearer, or this way". She was leading me to the answers which was weird ("this one is better, right?"). She somewhat rushed through that and reached the end of the exam, but none of the options as I was going through the exam seemed to give me crisp sight. At the very end she gave me a pair of glasses to try with the new script and things weren't crisp and I told her so. She said that's because I have cataracts which make it cloudy. I was stumped because I've had cataracts for years but never had blurred vision with corrective glasses. I ordered new lenses to be put in my old frames and was told they'll be ready in about a week (LensCrafters no longer has on site labs). My lenses cost $90 and the exam was $84 ($50 co-pay + $34 picture). When I picked up my glasses they didn't seem to help. I tried them for a wee with sane result so called for a re-check to see if they got my script right. It was suggested I see a different Dr this time and I did like this one better (young Asian lady). She said my script wasn't correct but also my Cataracts in 1 eye prevent it from being corrected to 20/20. She referred me to an Ophthalmologist who "might have some tricks" to get my eyes to 20/20 or can discuss cataracts surgery. I know this is a long review but my lesson and advice is to go to a "real" ophthalmologist or optometrist next time and not this small chain in the back of LensCrafters. I don't like the practice at all and now Lens Crafters, without a lab brings nothing to the table the online or discount eyeglass shops don't. When your focus is $34 and not patients or in this case patients eyesight , this is what happens.

Unfortunately I'm one of those people who won't go to the dentist or an optometrist until I need to go . With the help of my patient advocate from United Health Care made an appointment at Harvey & Lewis. Being disabled I use a mobility scooter to go anywhere for doctors groceries or anything I may need. So on the day of the appointment used my scooter about 3 miles up one way As soon as I got there the receptionist opened the doors greeted me with a big smile. Even though I was early I was guided into an examination room. The doctor jumping between her scheduled and myself. The doctor was fantastic a great experience up to date testing equipment different from what I remembered. When the Dr. was with the other patient the staff kept checking on me. After the diagnosis was directed to an associate to pick out my new glasses. My coverage was $300.00 for frames lenses fully covered. The selection was fantastic I was very impressed. Everyone was so nice very professional highly recommended. Guess what ? I can read again!! Thank you Harvey & Lewis I was serviced by 6 different staff members total on my two visits. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful team here…read more Best eye exam I have ever had, and that includes many places in major cities like New York City, Los Angeles, San Franciso, Houston and others. The only time I felt the doctor was giving an in-depth look at what was going on with my eyes. They offer you two additional exams that insurance does not pay for, but they are not expensive and worth it for the amount of detail analysis/images they are able to get on your eyes. I hate shopping and shopping for glasses is not remotely on my list of "favorite things" to do; however, she was very helpful and narrowed the type of styles I liked so I could pick what worked best for me. Just got my glasses today - in only about a week, and just in time for a long trip. Thank you.

In fact, there are 5 different tiers of contact pricing, so that helped me figure out what would fit me best. In addition, they let me try a certain type of contacts for 4 days and come back in to determine if it was a good fit and feel for me. That little gesture really helped solidify my confidence and eased the pain of the cost. Dr. Lindower was very kind and efficient without making me feel rushed. The other two people working here who helped during my appointment - I forget their names! - were also very nice. You could tell they do the same sequence with most of their patients, but I felt cared for and not just another paying customer. They answered my questions along the way and were very descriptive about what a certain test or a certain liquid was for. It was a little challenging getting a first-time appointment, but there was a lot more flexibility for the follow-up appointment. Definitely call with a bunch of time leeway in mind.
