Chi was very patient, extremely knowledgeable of their products and was able to put my mother in law in a pair of frames that make her look years younger, which she loves! When I went back to pick my glasses, I was fortunately also able to work with Chi. I must have picked out 20 pairs, not knowing what shape/size I would be happy with. Chi worked patiently with me, informing me that some of the frames I picked out would not be the best shape for the progressive prescription that I would be having in the lense... I don't think I've ever been told about that! We were final able to land on a frame that fit the bill for both how it looked as well as how it would meet my sight needs! Chi also worked in a discount, even though I had missed the sale that had recently ended. Both appointments were a success much due to Chi's patience and knowledge!

I made the mistake of selecting this place based on the reviews found on Google, so for those who…read moredon't know--those reviews are not reliable because positive ratings there can be bought from bot farms in China and elsewhere. First off, the doctor's services are professional, but customer service was substandard. When I first arrived, the woman at the front desk mentioned that there "might" be a fee for my contact lens fitting. I didn't think much of it at the time. I should've asked how much, because it turned out to be much more than expected. Ok, fine. But what bothered me was that I didn't find out until it was time to settle the bill. It felt like an ambush. The other humourless woman that helped me select my lenses seemed annoyed at my insurance coverage questions, and I couldn't get a straight answer about the total out-of-pocket expense, including the fee that was dumped on me. Everything was an evasive reply, or a "gotcha" answer. The visit ended costing way more than I had planned. The thing about cash grabs, is that they only work once. So forget about repeat customers. Lesson learned.

The only time I felt the doctor was giving an in-depth look at what was going on with my eyes. They offer you two additional exams that insurance does not pay for, but they are not expensive and worth it for the amount of detail analysis/images they are able to get on your eyes. I hate shopping and shopping for glasses is not remotely on my list of "favorite things" to do; however, she was very helpful and narrowed the type of styles I liked so I could pick what worked best for me. Unfortunately I'm one of those people who won't go to the dentist or an optometrist until I need to go . With the help of my patient advocate from United Health Care made an appointment at Harvey & Lewis. Being disabled I use a mobility scooter to go anywhere for doctors groceries or anything I may need. So on the day of the appointment used my scooter about 3 miles up one way As soon as I got there the receptionist opened the doors greeted me with a big smile. Even though I was early I was guided into an examination room. The doctor jumping between her scheduled and myself. The doctor was fantastic a great experience up to date testing equipment different from what I remembered. When the Dr. was with the other patient the staff kept checking on me. After the diagnosis was directed to an associate to pick out my new glasses. My coverage was $300.00 for frames lenses fully covered. The selection was fantastic I was very impressed. Everyone was so nice very professional highly recommended. Guess what ? I can read again!! Thank you Harvey & Lewis I was serviced by 6 different staff members total on my two visits. Five stars to this business !

I asked about trying contact lenses again after an irritating experience I had with contacts thirty years ago. She listened and provided insightful guidance. In fact, there are 5 different tiers of contact pricing, so that helped me figure out what would fit me best. In addition, they let me try a certain type of contacts for 4 days and come back in to determine if it was a good fit and feel for me. That little gesture really helped solidify my confidence and eased the pain of the cost. Dr. Lindower was very kind and efficient without making me feel rushed. The other two people working here who helped during my appointment - I forget their names! - were also very nice. You could tell they do the same sequence with most of their patients, but I felt cared for and not just another paying customer. They answered my questions along the way and were very descriptive about what a certain test or a certain liquid was for. It was a little challenging getting a first-time appointment, but there was a lot more flexibility for the follow-up appointment. Definitely call with a bunch of time leeway in mind. The manager said he could maybe find some frames to fit my current lenses. I said I loved these old frames so would just have to order the same one again. Then he broke the news they'd been discontinued But he said maybe I can find some on eBay for you.....whaaaaaat? He brought it up and miracle of miracles there was the exact one available and for a good price, too! He said if you really want them you better get right on it. With that he popped out of his desk chair and told me to sit in his chair and order it right off his desktop! I did that and they arrived a few days later. I was SO happy. The grand finale is that I brought my old lenses in to be fit in my new frames that I bought online. He fit the lenses in and said no charge!!! Whaaat? Customer service above and beyond!!!

I'm writing this review because I emailed the owner twice and he completely ignored my emails…read more I went into the Avon store on a Friday around 12:15 PM just to have a simple nose pad replaced on my Theo Romana glasses (an expensive brand that they told me they carried. There were three employees working. Two of them deferred to a third man I assume is the manager. He confidently said it was "no problem" to fix. He took my glasses to the back. Ten minutes later, he walked out and asked me, "Do you have another pair of glasses at home?" When I said no, he actually scoffed and said, "Who doesn't have an extra pair of glasses?" Only then did he reveal that he had completely snapped the entire nose piece off my frames. Instead of apologizing for destroying my property, he immediately shifted the blame to me. He told me, "These glasses are old and you need new ones." He didn't warn me beforehand that there was a risk of breaking them, he just said he could fix them. Instead, he broke them, insulted me for not having a backup pair, and blamed the age of the frames. He then had the audacity to hand me my now-unusable glasses, a loose nose pad, and a tiny screw. I had to ask him for a baggie to hold the pieces, and it took him another 10 minutes just to find the actual piece he had snapped off. The interaction was blatantly disrespectful and other customers said how rude he was and how shocked they were by his behavior. No one offered a discount on a replacement pair or any real solution. I emailed the owner directly and offered a chance to speak with me and the employee. I never received a single word in reply. If you value your eyewear--especially if you wear high-end independent brands--do not trust this business. They will break your property, insult you to your face, and the ownership will completely ignore you when you complain.

The first thing I noticed, upon walking in was how spacious, clean, and not crowded the office was. Our appointments were back to back; The women working at the front desk were both personable and helpful. We waited maybe five minutes each to be seen...not long at all. I was impressed especially by the technology in his office because my previous eye doctor did not have anything like this. I felt like I was at an arcade, with all of the different machines meant to measure my vision. It seemed like a very thorough exam that didn't just rely on what I said but actual computer technology. I don't know about you, but whenever I'm getting my eyes checked, I almost feel like it's a test and I might be answering it wrong. I felt like the various machines prevented me from second-guessing myself. Dr. Alpert himself was very friendly, personable, and asked multiple times if I had any questions about anything we were discussing. For many years, I had gone to a different eyecare center and would get a prescription and then buy my glasses online. Based on his very thorough exam, and recommendations from the doctor, we went with eyeglasses that did cost a significant amount more than I'm used to paying. However, I do believe that we will get what we pay for when they come in, which is expected to be in the next two weeks The young man who helped us pick out frames was very patient as I couldn't make up my mind. I appreciated that he pointed out some frames that were on sale for us since I was buying two pair and we do not have insurance for them. I really like supporting a local doctor who isn't part of a big fancy conglomeration and I look forward to staying with this practice for many years to come.
