The only time I felt the doctor was giving an in-depth look at what was going on with my eyes. They offer you two additional exams that insurance does not pay for, but they are not expensive and worth it for the amount of detail analysis/images they are able to get on your eyes. I hate shopping and shopping for glasses is not remotely on my list of "favorite things" to do; however, she was very helpful and narrowed the type of styles I liked so I could pick what worked best for me. Just got my glasses today - in only about a week, and just in time for a long trip. Thank you.

In this day and time when businesses are robbing us blind, we seem to have no protection as in days…read moregone by. This business is one of those businesses you need to be protected from. I found the optometrist (a female), very through. Ordering glasses is what makes me angry. They charged me $300 for the cheapest pair of glasses ever made. They were bifocal, plus they charged me an extra $20, that I had to pay myself. I don't care for the glasses but what could I do but order a pair online that I could afford. I had to ask these people 4 times to send my prescription by email. They claimed the doctor had to look at it and sign it but I never got it. A couple of months later I tried again. Still they did not send. Called a few days later they sent prescription unsigned saying it was not valid. I'm sure they knew I wanted to order online so no PD number of course. By that time I was aggravated and threatened to let everyone know their practices in my review. They didn't care, they still did not correct this. I guess I WILL have to contact the BBB and a new optometrist.

Our appointments were back to back; The women working at the front desk were both personable and helpful. We waited maybe five minutes each to be seen...not long at all. I was impressed especially by the technology in his office because my previous eye doctor did not have anything like this. I felt like I was at an arcade, with all of the different machines meant to measure my vision. It seemed like a very thorough exam that didn't just rely on what I said but actual computer technology. I don't know about you, but whenever I'm getting my eyes checked, I almost feel like it's a test and I might be answering it wrong. I felt like the various machines prevented me from second-guessing myself. Dr. Alpert himself was very friendly, personable, and asked multiple times if I had any questions about anything we were discussing. For many years, I had gone to a different eyecare center and would get a prescription and then buy my glasses online. Based on his very thorough exam, and recommendations from the doctor, we went with eyeglasses that did cost a significant amount more than I'm used to paying. However, I do believe that we will get what we pay for when they come in, which is expected to be in the next two weeks The young man who helped us pick out frames was very patient as I couldn't make up my mind. I appreciated that he pointed out some frames that were on sale for us since I was buying two pair and we do not have insurance for them. I really like supporting a local doctor who isn't part of a big fancy conglomeration and I look forward to staying with this practice for many years to come. First off, the doctor's services are professional, but customer service was substandard. When I first arrived, the woman at the front desk mentioned that there "might" be a fee for my contact lens fitting. I didn't think much of it at the time. I should've asked how much, because it turned out to be much more than expected. Ok, fine. But what bothered me was that I didn't find out until it was time to settle the bill. It felt like an ambush. The other humourless woman that helped me select my lenses seemed annoyed at my insurance coverage questions, and I couldn't get a straight answer about the total out-of-pocket expense, including the fee that was dumped on me. Everything was an evasive reply, or a "gotcha" answer. The visit ended costing way more than I had planned. The thing about cash grabs, is that they only work once. So forget about repeat customers. As a medical professional I am completely disgusted by the way I was treated all over asking a doctor question. Asked to speak to supervisor and was told there was no Sup in building until Tuesday.
