I can't believe I'm leaving a 4-star review. I was loathe to come here, because, um, Jersey? I was all "Why can't Radiohead play in Manhattan" whiny. But it turns out that this is an awesome music venue. The sound was fantastic, our seats were great (seating is as you'd expect at a stadium), the staff was friendly and helpful (we needed assistance getting to the box office because of my brokedown foot). I'd come back here again for sure. Even though it's Jersey. read more

Came here trying to catch the LInsanity - but disappointed that he was out for the season. Nevertheless, Knicks had a good showing. It was funny that Nets were the home team but 80% of people were Knicks fan... This is a nice arena with the usual expensive and unhealthy food - but you will get a great and fun experience. read more

Even as I'm sitting in the front, I can't see nothing! There's a lot of foreign beers, and even Japanese food though!

Love coming here to watch hockey and love the Devils! The arena is great. It's clean, the staff are nice, and there are tons of food options. Definitely go to Rita's/Mrs. Fields but you can skip the "submarine" stand. The subs are wayyyy too oily and greasy, especially for how expensive they are. There are way better food options available. Watching the Devils play at the Rock is a great experience and I would definitely recommend it to everyone!! read more

I have been to the Prudential Center many times most for Devil games. Every time a enter this building I'm amazed it is still open. The concession staff proof me every time. I'm 53. The beer is skunky swill. The food is sitting under a lamp cold and cold. Fries 100% every time soggy mush. The pizza I wouldn't use to clean up puck with. Then my last visit I go up to get some cold sliders and they shut off the escalator. So now I take an elevator my food is frozen and show my ticket to the staff. She tells me it would be easier to go around to the next door to sit. I suggest going in here as I can see my sons sitting 10 rows down on the left. After an unneeded discussion on this simple request I walked straight down to my seat. As the game had not started my sons and I sat in OUR ROW ONE SEAT OUT OF PLACE as a gentleman to our fright was in OUR seat. Now here she comes again asking me for my ticket. I had just taken a bite of my dog food and balanced my cap less ( another abstract BIT OF BS) ice tea on my lap. I asked her to check the gentleman in seat 8 as I was busy eating and he needed to move first. Well she was not having a paying customer tell her what to do and threatened me with getting her superior. I told her to go ahead and bring 2 supervisors if she wanted. As she walked away I called her incompetent which she incompetently relayed to her kangaroo court as " he cursed me out" Well after the 1st period here they come. Must have been 5 or 6 yellow guards and their leader. They preceded to hold a one sided circus court with their usher as the one and only star witness. When I tried to interject a statement they brushed it aside with rhetorical questions of my integrity. Hoping I would lose my temper or get in a physical altercation with the big bad yellow-jacketed one frustratingly proved not to work. So I was escorted to the office for another try at provocation which again failed. I then asked to see a lawyer or real police at which point my ticket and name were taken and copied and I was escorted to the exit. The new owners try to take the fan out of the game by not playing the YOU SUCK anthem yet the horn player still lives and when they stop him we will whistle it. They also took the devil dancers away. Slowly but surely the arena experience is being pissed on like the fries. Over priced entertainment does not taste good. read more

Came here for a Enrique Iglesias/Pitbull/Prince Royce concert on Saturday night and had a great time. The venue was ridiculously clean and nice which i'm not really used to at these types of venues. I really like the layout of the place and seating arrangement. I see why people love to come here for nets and devils games. $8 beers isn't terrible. The only con i have is the food selection, not really the best, but does the job. read more

This was my first time there and it was great! We were on the third tier and still had an excellent view of the ring ! We were there to see WWE and it was great! I love how big and nice looking this venue is. The food prices were not too bad either, a little pricey but not exorbitant. The food was also good which is rare at arenas usually. All in all I would go back. read more

They really did a good job with this arena--outside of parking, which is a bit of an issue, but more on that later. The sight lines are solid and the sound is very good. The arena is a bit smaller than many a modern day venue, but that actually turns out to be a pretty good thing. The concourses are nice and wide, with a fine variety of food options, ranging from hot dogs and pizza to sushi and gourmet carving stations. In addition, they have "A Taste of Newark" in the upper concourse, offering fare from many local eateries, such as Hobby's deli. None of the seats feel as if they are too far away, and unlike the cavernous Izod center, the sound does not die in the upper levels. One major design flaw is that they've put in a hand rail that separates the center ice seats in the lower section that barricades this section (on each side) from the rest of the lower section. I understand the need for this, as they are offering unlimited food and drink (no alcohol) during Devils games, and need to have some way of keeping out the freeloaders. However, the bar itself is too high, and obstructs the view of the action if you are so unlucky to be seated into the section adjacent the bar. This really needs to be lowered a foot or two, as its positioning is unacceptable. As for parking, they have a VIP garage that can be difficult to get in and out of due to having only 1 entrance/exit. In addition, they tend to overfill the adjacent lots and tend to double park vehicles in front of spots, often leaving patrons stranded or blocked in, having to wait for those cars to move--another completely unacceptable process. And finally, after games, they block off Lafayette Street, and Green Street is a one way, so all traffic from the Green Street Lot must move towards Mulberry. I understand this is to allow for flow out of the VIP garage. This could be easily corrected by making Green Street one way in the opposite direction either permanently, or just after games. read more

This is a great arena - worth the trek into Newark, seriously.

Luv the rock so much better than the izod center. We go to many Devils games each year and also concerts here and really like the layout , anyway... GO DEVILS !!! : ) read more

I saw Floetry and my spirit nearly floated away-oh-and R.Kelly too. Spacious, in a sketchy area but it does what it's supposed to do.

I've been to two Nets games this season, and, I have to admit, I've been very impressed. I was a little apprehensive to drive into Newark, but the area is relatively safe, and the parking is easy and convenient. Both of the games that we attended were somewhat monumental. The first game I went to was during January, in the thick of the 'Melo trade. It was the night Prokhorov declared the negotiations with 'Melo were off, so there was lots of drama. To top it off, it was "Russian Culture Night." I like how the Nets try to entertain the fans at every possible minute. I went with my sister, and with the combination of the game, music, and Russian-themed entertainment, she declared these games are "for people with ADD." Our seats were almost on the floor, and we were very close to both Jay-Z and Kim Kardashian. I have to say, I was a little star-struck! For the second game, we were seated in a close section, but not right by the floor. I got a good deal on these tickets at the last minute using the Nets ticket exchange featured on the Nets' website. Unexpectedly, these seats were actually a little more luxurious than our previous seats. The seats by the floor are fold-up chairs, but the seats a little further back were over-stuffed and plush. This was Deron's first home game, so we received free Deron Williams tee-shirts. There was also a talent show during half-time. Again, the Nets made a concerted effort to incorporate the fans into the overall game experience. Overall, I would recommend catching a Nets game if you are a basketball fan. The ticket prices are reasonable, and the games are beyond entertaining. Go Nets! read more

I went to my first Devil's game (first ever hockey game, in fact) at the Prudential Center last night on a last minute whim. My friends had an extra club level ticket and asked if I wanted to join. Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasently surprised with what an AWESOME experience it was! The club area offered an endless variety of catering options; everything from pizza and chicken fingers to sushi, salad bar, and desert display! Although choosing sushi at the Prudential Center seemed like a bit of a gamble, the bet was in my favor because the sushi was incredibly fresh and delicious! The arena staff were extremely friendly, helpful, professional and kind! The bartender, (Jackie??) was such a doll and politely declined our offer to buy her a drink and get her some food because it was against work rules. With this being my first hockey game, I wasn't aware that you couldn't walk up and down from your seats whenever you pleased and when I tried to go back to my seat during the game, an adorable woman usher (Evelin?) stopped me to inform me that I had to wait until the whistle blew before I could go back down. While I was waiting, we started chatting and I let her know that this was my first hockey game and that I've had a blast so far. She was so genuinely excited that she was able to be a part of my first game and started rattling off pointers such as where fans go to see the players after the game and that the players will sometimes sign your swag. She informed us that we were allowed to bring the club food to our seats (we didn't know this and scarfed down our food prior to the game), and you could just tell by her passion that she loved her job, loved the Devils, and loved the Prudential Center. It's pretty rare to be so incredibly pleased with sporting event staff so I felt that it's my due diligence to provide my Yelp review. I would highly recommend attending an event or game here and will absolutely return in the future. read more

Food is so unhealthy and so tasteless! $5-8 bottle of water! Staff is rude and disrespectful! Overall very unpleasant experience at this venue read more

Parking is non existent so you have to pay anywhere from $25-$50. Heads up. No big deal. Black bold headed guy, Andrew A. (Or Adam A) Was super rude, unprofessional and arrogant. He accused us various times of "counterfeiting" our tickets when I was trying to show him the receipt. We were trying to be as cooperative as possible because we understood he was just doing his job. We came back when our friend texted us the receipt to verify and someone else walked us to the seats but someone was sitting there already and not only did the female security put their hands on me and bruised me, but Mr.A got in my face. Not to mention that these ladies were half my size and I didn't retaliate but Mr. A also snatched my phone out of my hands. They never asked the people in our seats for their tickets either. They scanned our tickets on the way in and there's no way we could've gotten in if they were manipulated as Andrew put it. I want our money back and you can rest easy I will never go back to that crap hole. Also saw a women get punched in the face by a guy in front of a police officer and he didn't do anything. When my friends and I went to break it up, the cop only told us to get out of the street. Corrupt cops, corrupt mayor, horrible management. read more

I use to come to the Prudential Center all the the time because as a NBA fan it was much cheaper to watch the Nets play against teams than it was to watch the Knicks. I've also been here for a hockey game or two and I have to say this is pretty nice venue. There's nothing particularly special about it but I just find that it doesn't have flaws which every New York venue seems to have. There's parking should you choose to drive but it's also convenient if you use mass transit. It's always clean, the staff is nice, and it has big open areas so people are funneling on top of each other. read more

I've attended two events at the Prudential Center - a Devils game and Disney on Ice. I really enjoyed both events and think the arena is really wonderful. It is conveniently located about three blocks from Penn Station, so I took NJ Transit and walked over. It's totally simple and saves you having to pay for parking. The entrance is well organized and the security line moved along quickly. It is a very clean arena and I found the seats to have plenty of room. Both times, I was directed to my seat politely and quickly. The concessions are pretty standard, but I was happy to see Nathan's hot dogs and fries :) I definitely like attending events here and hope to return soon. read more

Prudential Center is one of the nicest places that I have been too to view a sporting or entertainment venue. They have plenty of parking and cost about the same during a big event. Seats are comfortable and plenty of vendors selling food and other items. If you get a chance to go don't miss out. read more

Went last night for the SADE & John Legend concert last night with my husband. The concert was AMAZING!!!! The seats not so much. Unfortunately we could only get seats in sec 211, we didn't think this would be a big problem as we've sat in nose bleed seats at MSG and Yankee stadium and it was fine, these seats were awful especially for my husband who is 6'1 and big, I'm only 5'2 and the seat definitly did a number on my back. Towards the end we decided to just stand near the exit. All in all the concert was amazing, it was easy to get to since we live in NY and security was good. I'd go again but try to get better seats next time. read more

A nice arean. Went for UFC fight. Parking was a nightmare.

I can't speak to sporting events-having never been to one held here-but I did attend a Stevie Wonder concert a few weeks ago-he performed Songs in the Key of Life in its entirety-which took my breath away. The arena itself has a lot to recommend it. Easily navigable, albeit very large, relatively clear sight lines, good acoustics, among other assets. Didn't bother partaking of the concessions, although I would imagine they are terribly overpriced, as they are in most stadiums of this kind. There isn't much criticism I can muster at the moment, but I should caution that I've only been here once. read more

"The Rock" is an okay place for hockey and basketball games. It is not a good venue for concerts. They do not provide sufficient security after events. After leaving the arena we were surrounded by many unsavory characters. read more

A great state of the art arena. It's def a lot better than the meadowlands lol. Love seeing the devils play and a great atmosphere. If the tickets were a little cheaper maybe more people would go to games. The train is only a short walk away and the police presence is outstanding. read more

I always have a great time on my visits to the Prudential Center. I've seen the Devils play on multiple occasions and even saw a Muse concert here. The venue itself is one of the more clean arena's I've been to and the staff are nice and helpful. The only downfall of this arena is the difficulty getting to it. I was in traffic for almost 2 hours trying to get to a Devils game and I missed the first period. Be sure to leave with plenty of time to get to the arena! read more

This is my second time to this venue to see Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band. I live about an 1.5 hour drive south in NJ. Compared to all the other venues I have seen many many many concerts at, I like this the best. It is super easy to get to, the bathrooms were very easy to get to, restaurants and food, ushers, security including the police outside are very friendly and helpful. I found inexpensive parkeing 2 blocks away online. My only dissappointment is that I could not get wifi inside the venue. But I was there for the concert, not to be on my cellphone anyway! read more

This arena is awesome. Went there for a devils-islanders preseason hockey game last night and it was worth the trip. Much better than the Izod Center and on par with MSG. Very eclectic food selection and seating is great. More spaced out. Will come back there again for a concert. read more

The fact that I was pumped up for a concert, walked through the door, and immediately disrespected by the staff who were too busy talking to each other rather than guiding me through the metal detector really turned me off. When I interrupted the oh-so-important conversation to ask if it was ok that I proceed through, I was spoken to as though I were a wretched idiot.. "you gotta pay attention and wait your turn!" THEN when I was visibly irritated, the 2 women who were so deep in conversation continued to rib me about not having fun at the concert. So basically, the staff that treats you like garbage for asking a simple and innocent question being the first thing you experience when walking into the building is not a good way to make anyone want to return to your facility. Try hiring people who are not disgusting sleezeball thugs who literally bully your clientele upon entering your establishment. Needless to say, will never step foot near that building again. Won't see a dime from me. Amendment: you need to try to shut down the whole NJ Devils' "hey, you suck" chant that you hear at hockey games. Again, how disgusting and disrespectful. Most team fans will chant lets go team and yay and woo and hoorah.... not "you suck". You are contributing to why people call it "Dirty Jersey" ***hahaha just read most of the reviews and it sounds like the only reason you sell hockey tickets is if the rangers are in town. MSG all the way! read more

Just saw James Taylor and Bonnie Raitt on 7/6/17 here. Lots of confusion as the area where our ticket was had been closed so we were re-located. No one told us this till we got to our section and were told to go down to the main level, section 17. There was NO section 17. Got the run around till we were finally seated. The concert was great but the air conditioning was TOO high. Thank goodness I had a heavy jacket but even that was not enough. They need to iron out some kinks when this happens. The staff was nice considering the runaround. read more

Nice venue. Clean, huge, great sound quality. It's fantastic. The thing is, it's so poorly organized. You have to enter in one of the specific "towers," and you don't know which one to enter until you go in the wrong one. When I was there we were trying to get from the lower deck to the upper deck and we couldn't find any stairs. There is also a surprising lack of women's bathrooms on the first floor. read more

Went to the Celine Dion concert here last night. No, not with another guy, cuz that would be uber gay. The layout is not too efficient and the rows run steep but all in all a great time. There were even cigars being freshly rolled for sale along w/ Mrs. Fields. Celine sung her heart out w/ classics as well as new jams such as Shadow of Love, My Love, then broke out some old school Queen. Two highlights for me were 1. The Prayer..duet w/ Andrea Bocelli (via screen), 2. My Heart Will Go On (2nd encore). She is still fit as ever after having a 7 1/2yr old kid. You can tell by her 6 wardrobe changes. Celine didn't sing 'If You Asked Me To' though. Not that I'm a fan or anything. read more

There are many good things about this place. It's brand new. The audio system is amazing. Everything is clean. The ushers are very helpful. It's VERY brightly lit. The set up is good so you can see from the nosebleeds. The bathrooms are clean and there are lots of them, no line for the ladies room! Also, mere blocks from the Newark Path Train station. Once we figured out the Path, it was easy. We made it from the arena back to 33rd St in Manhattan in about an hour, walking and transfer @ Journal Square included. MUCH easier to get to than The Izod (formerly Continental Airlines) Arena. It's in a populated area, unlike Izod, and you can actually stop and get food before you hit the arena. The not so good. The seats are cramped together, which does not bode well if you're at a concert and have some headbanging fool next to you. It seems like they tried to squish a lot of people into a small space so you get that view. No leg room. The guy behind me was a large man and was trying his best not to knee me in the head. They do a SERIOUS search. Take out your keys, iPod, phone, what's this, open this...they literally poke through your bag with a stick. Be prepared to repack your entire bag. Also, the aisle stairs in the 100's are at an incredibly steep incline. So much so that if you have the slightest fear of heights or vertigo, you will be grasping the rail for dear life. And the hike back up is a good work out...lots of stairs. Also, there is no railing in front of the first row in the Mezzanine/Balcony sections, which can be a little scary. The Path train station at night could be shady, lots of homeless people, I mean LOTS. But if you're at an event you'll be with half the audience, so it's all good. The WTF? There's a Verizon center IN the arena...they have people trying to demonstrate and sell you phones IN the venue. There is also a prerecorded female voice that plays outside the area on speakers as you enter welcoming you to the Prudential Center and telling you the rules..over and over and over. Reminded me of Blade Runner. read more

Fantasia was one of the Headliners we left before her performance....We could only imagine the loud feedback and echoes along with her unique voice, we could't bare the thought. Parking here is awful. Do not sign up for their prepaid parking. It completely sucks. We arrived about an hour early and was still late for the show. Parking congestion was awful for their prepaid parking but was fine for the regular public parking. Next time choose the public parking and do not prepay. We will never return here again. I came here for the Bruno Mars concert. The concert was amazing and the venue is pretty good. The food, however, left something to be desired. I ordered a a slice of pizza from one of the vendors. It was room temperature, and the crust had stale edges to indicate that at best, it was made the day before. I am sick to my stomach thinking about it. Bars are fine. After a couple of cocktails which were greatly overpriced we made are way to our seats. Our seats were priced $69/ea and we found ourselves packed like a sardines. After some time in this seat listening to the screaming fans of the opposing team we had enough and went back to the Acella lounge. The lounge is expensive but has a great view and comfortable. After another drink and some conversation with the server again she graciously moved us into luxury seats with a promise to take care of her servers. Best seats in the house!
